16 times Jaime Lannister should have dumped Cersei on 'Game of Thrones'

$

Jaime Olenna Game of Thrones

Warning: Spoilers ahead for "Game of Thrones" season seven.

Jaime Lannister's journey is one of the most compelling ones on "Game of Thrones," and one of the most frustrating.

He's a complex character. He values honor, but also pushes Bran Stark out of a window in order to keep his affair with his sister Cersei a secret.

As we learn more about Jaime's past, and his motives, he's become more of a hero. So for a long time, it's been "about time" for him to end his toxic relationship with his sister, and fight for the right team.

In the books, Jaime turns on Cersei much sooner than he does in the show. And even for non-book readers, his loyalty to Cersei starts to get a little unbelievable considering what she's done, and what he's been through on the show.

After his adventures with Brienne of Tarth in season three, fans began to see the potential that Jaime could turn on Cersei. Their time together opens him up to new perspectives, and humanizes him. His connection to Brienne inspires him to reveal why he murdered the Mad King Aerys: he did it to save the entire city of King's Landing from exploding in wildfire.

In the seasons since, Jaime's decision to stay loyal to his sister no matter what (including murdering hundreds of people with wildfire Mad King style) has not been convincing.

To honor Jaime's brave decision to finally turn his back on his sister in the season finale, "The Dragon and the Wolf," we took a look back at all the times Jaime should have turned on Cersei, but didn't.

SEE ALSO: All the important 'Game of Thrones' deaths, ranked from least tragic to most tragic

When Cersei tortures baby Tyrion.

Cersei has hated Tyrion since he was born, because their mother Joanna died giving birth to him. She would pinch him and twist his flesh until he wailed when he was a baby. In season four, Oberyn Martell tells Tyrion that he saw Cersei do this on a visit to Casterly Rock, and Jaime stopped her.

Does this stop Jaime from turning on Cersei? No. But it was really nice of him to tell her to stop torturing a baby.

When Cersei has Jaime join the Kingsguard so they can be together, thus ruining his life.

Before Robert's Rebellion, Cersei tells Jaime to join the Kingsguard, forfeiting his future inheritance of lands and titles, so he can stay in King's Landing and they can be together. However, their father Tywin resigns as the Mad King's Hand of the King and brings her back to Casterly Rock.

Jaime then murders the Mad King, earning the nickname Kingslayer.

After Robert's Rebellion, his murder of the Mad King is forgiven by King Robert, and he remains on the Kingsguard. Jaime spends majority of his time following his sister's husband around. Robert treats Jaime poorly and flaunts his affairs with other women to torment Jaime.

Does this stop Jaime from turning on Cersei? No. He finds this helpful in some ways, since he and Cersei get to hook up in their free time.

When Cersei has an affair with Lancel Lannister, their cousin.

Cersei sleeps with their cousin Lancel throughout seasons one and two. Lancel does everything she asks him to, including causing the death of King Robert.

In season five, Lancel confesses the affair and the death of Robert to the High Sparrow. Cersei is arrested for her crimes, and has to do the walk of shame to the Red Keep.

Does this stop Jaime from turning on Cersei? Nope. He's heard the rumors, but chooses not to believe them. But we do know that Jaime has never been with another woman.

16 high-paying jobs for people who hate people

shy phone woman text call alone

Not everybody is a people person.

If this sounds like you, then your best approach for finding a job could be searching for work where people skills aren't all that necessary.

To find these jobs, we averaged data from the Occupational Information Network, or O*NET, a US Department of Labor database full of detailed information on more than 900 occupations.

O*NET rates each occupation on a scale from zero to 100 on how much a job requires workers to be in contact with others and how much a job requires workers to be pleasant with others. We averaged these ratings to find which jobs had the lowest overall scores.

While we're not suggesting that people who hold these positions are all standoffish, the following jobs pay on average more than $55,000 a year according to O*NET, have an average required sociability score of 65 or less, and therefore require minimal good-natured interaction with others:

The most iconic toys from every year since 1965

$

furby

Every year, some toys leave a more lasting impression than others.

This year's fidget spinners are a hot commodity right now, but not every toy can reach the iconic status of Barbie or Play-Doh — though a select few do get their moment to shine.

With the help of the Strong National Museum of Play in Rochester, New York, which also runs the National Toy Hall of Fame, we've come up with a list of the most popular toys since 1965.

From simple rubber balls to video game consoles, take a stroll down memory lane below.

1965: G.I. Joe

Hasbro created the G.I. Joe action figures in 1964 to market dolls to boys, but due to a sexist company policy at the time, it was prohibited to market them as "dolls."

Four figures were initially launched to represent the Army, the Navy, the Air Force, and the Marines, and within two years, the toy was bringing in more than half of the company's profits. Since then, the toy has launched movies, a cartoon series, and more.

1966: Suzy Homemaker

The Suzy Homemaker line of toys were miniature functioning plastic household appliances that included a blender, a stove, a refrigerator with plastic food included, and an iron.

The toys promoted strict domesticity, but with the rise of women's rights movements, the Suzy Homemaker line lost popularity.

1967: Lite-Brite

The Lite-Brite consisted of a light box, black paper, and colored pegs. All you had to do was put the black paper on the box and stick the pegs in following the provided templates or creating your own image. Once you turned the light on, your image was illuminated. Simple and fun.

The celebrities you should date based on your zodiac sign

$
0
0

drake and emma stone

Everyone has a celebrity crush, but when it comes down to it, it's hard to know if you'd really be compatible in real life.

But with a little help from zodiac signs— which can answer everything from where you should travel next to what your boss is like— you can narrow down which celebrity you'd have a good chance of having a happily-ever-after with, should you ever cross paths.

Aries —Brad Pitt, Miley Cyrus

Aries have fiery personalities and a lust for life, so it makes sense that they would want a partner that has those traits, too.

One of the best matches for Aries is Sagittarius because they are two signs apart, making the partnership easy and stable. Because these signs love life, that can add some much needed excitement to the mix.

Both Brad and Miley are known for the adventurous personalities. Pitt has traveled all over the world and is frequently seen on adventures with his children and Miley seems to be a party of one wherever she goes, making them both perfect matches for you.

Taurus — Nina Dobrev or Kit Harington

Capricorn and Taurus understand each other deeply. As they're both earth signs, they share the common bond of having their feet firmly on the ground and appreciating the more stable things in life, like financial security and a trusting partnership.

Capricorns best trait is that they're committed, astrologer Sally Kirkman told INSIDER, while Tauruses are reliable and always there when you need them, making this one solid partnership.

Kit Harington and Nina Dobrev are both Capricorns that would make an ideal match for any Taurus. While they've both been on successful TV franchises, they keep their personal lives pretty personal and focus on those close to them.

Gemini — Harry Styles or Natalie Dormer

Geminis and Aquarians are both air signs who keep their lives up in the clouds. Geminis don't like to be tied down very often so they need someone who loves their own freedom as well and won't make them feel smothered — enter Aquarius.

Aquarius and Gemini are one of the strongest Zodiac pairings because they won't make each other jealous and won't be jealous themselves. They are unique and unorthodox, so they have an understanding of how their relationship operates.

Natalie Dormer and Harry Styles are both textbook Aquarians — they march to the beat of their own drummer and love a life of freedom and excitement. After all, Harry was the first One Direction member to hit major solo success (besides Zayn's early departure) and Natalie has made a name for herself outside of the show that put her on the map, "Game of Thrones."

When I first moved into my dorm room in college, it was difficult for me to imagine feeling at home in this barren, almost industrial setup. Little did I know that some of my best memories from freshman year would come from the times spent in my own and my friends' rooms.

Yes, you'll spend plenty of time going to class, finding the best study and nap spots on campus, and exploring your college town, but there's also nothing like coming home to your own space.

That's why it's important you outfit your room for maximum comfort and enjoyment. Your room is where you'll furiously cram for midterms late into the night, host game and movie nights, and wind down after a busy week.

Find out how to make your room comfortable enough for any of these situations below.

Hurricane Harvey could be the costliest natural disaster in US history — here's how we'll know the true cost (ALL, LEN, KBH, DHI)

$

Flooded cars Harvey

It will take several months to work out the full impact of Hurricane Harvey on the US economy.

So far, the consensus is that it won't cause that big of a hit to the overall economy's growth, although its personal impact already is and will continue to be far greater.

"We expect the effects of Harvey to be substantial and lasting," UBS economists said in a note. They added that it's difficult to forecast the full impact, even by comparing this to previous hurricanes, because each one is unique.

Here's how economists are calculating its impact:

The cost of Harvey

AccuWeather forecasts that Harvey would be the most expensive natural disaster in US history, at about $160 billion.

Other estimates are more conservative, but rising. According to data from the risk modeler Enki Research cited by Bloomberg on Wednesday, the hurricane could cause $75 billion in economic losses. That's up from $42 billion Tuesday.

Gas prices

Drivers are already paying more at the pump amid shutdowns of oil refineries in Texas.

Prices compiled by AAA showed that the average cost of a gallon of regular unleaded gas was $2.40 per gallon on Wednesday, up from $2.34 a week earlier.

That's because shutdowns have slowed the flow of gas from the epicenter of Texas' oil refinery industry, which processes nearly one-third of America's crude oil. Earlier on Wednesday, the Motiva Port Arthur refinery, the largest in the US, began shutting down as flood waters rose.

And because refiners are demanding less crude oil, prices are falling. West Texas Intermediate crude, the US benchmark, is down 4% this week.

"You've got a little less Eagle Ford production, and a little bit less Gulf of Mexico production, but it's nowhere near the demand that's been taken offline from the refiners," said Rob Thummel, a portfolio manager at Tortoise Capital, which manages $15 billion in energy assets.

Thummel said the sheer demand for gasoline would have the refineries back up and running as soon as they can. Goldman Sachs estimated that it could take "several months" for demand to return to pre-hurricane levels.

Exports

The US has become a bigger exporter of oil, and activity in Texas is strongly correlated with the national level.

According to Deutsche Bank, Houston accounted for 21% of chemicals exports in the second quarter.

"Harvey could potentially drag on H2 real GDP growth by as much as -20 basis points (bps)—mainly through disruptions to exports," said Brett Ryan, a senior US economist, in a note Monday.

Pomona College FB

Cramped spaces, cinderblock walls, and low-grade lighting are the things college students typically expect from their housing experiences. You won't find any of that in the dorms on this list, however.

We've researched schools across the country to compile a list of the 11 dorms that provide the most unique living and learning experience.

From TempurPedic mattresses and private pools, to special learning communities, these dorms have all the amenities you could ever want.

SEE ALSO: The 10 best college dining halls in America

Scripps College topped Princeton Review's list of the schools with the best dorms this year.

Scripps College's seven residence halls consistently rank high on best-dorms lists, and with good reason. With each dorm housing between 70 and 120 residents, they're tight-knit communities set on a beautiful southern California campus. Many of the Mediterranean-style buildings have balconies that overlook palm tree-shaded courtyards or wide grassy lawns.

On the second floor of the Gabrielle Jungels-Winkler Hall is the "browsing room," which features intricately carved wood panels that date back to 1915.

Washington University in St. Louis has the South Forty, a community of dorms with plenty of convenient food options.

Coming in at number two on this year's Princeton Review's list of the best college dorms is Wash U, which has a variety of luxurious accommodations inside the small-town atmosphere on the campus' South Forty area.

All 23 residence halls, both the old and the new, are outfitted with TempurPedic mattresses, and the student-run Wash-U-Wash service will pick up your dirty laundry, clean it, and deliver it to your door two days later.

Perks of living in the South Forty include easy access to a food market, a bakery, a kosher kitchen, on-sight peer counselors, and large gathering places in LEED-certified buildings.

One community at Arizona State University provides 1,600 residents with an Amazon Echo Dot.

Inside Arizona State University's newest residence — the Fulton Schools Residential Community at Tooker House, which opens this fall — are 1,600 Echo Dots, all donated by Amazon.

The house, which was built specifically for first-year engineering students, will encourage residents to experiment with the technology, as well as enroll in classes that teach voice user interface development.

The house is also equipped with eSpace classrooms where students can enroll in an Introduction to Engineering course, among others.

I’ve written about a lot of great tech, but these are the gadgets I use every day

91zq8bpWyIL._SL1500_While my MacBook Pro, iPad Pro, and iPhone are the three pillars of my digital life, they wouldn't be nearly as powerful without some accessories. I have hyper-specific tools for once-in-a-while tasks, but I wanted to highlight the tech accessories that I use every day without fail.

These accessories allow me the get the most out of those main products, and ultimately add a whole lot of value to my tech life. They save me time and allow me to do things I wouldn't be able to otherwise, whether that means letting me stay productive or helping me to relax.

I've written about some of these products before, but others haven't merited their own post yet. The best part about these products is that a lot of them can work together, as opposed to being siloed — that's what makes them easy to use daily.

A laptop stand

The iPad Pro might be my primary computer at home, but my MacBook Pro still handles some key daily tasks for me, like acting as my media server. For the past year, I've kept my laptop hooked up to an external display (more on that in a minute), and in this stand by Twelve South. The BookArk accomplishes two tasks, it keeps my MacBook Pro in a stable position, and it saves me a lot of room.

Rather than have my laptop on a horizontal stand, the BookArk lets me tuck my MacBook away while still leaving all of its ports exposed. If I need to pop in an HDMI cable to play a Steam game, it's right there. The way I have my laptop oriented (as pictured, actually), all of the wires go back behind the desk making my setup look even more clean and professional.

Twelve South BookArk, $49.99, available at Amazon

A 4K monitor

I went 4K, and I'm not going back. Not everyone is going to need a big, 4K monitor, but if you do, I highly recommend this one from ASUS. It has two HDMI ports and a Displayport 1.2 port. The HDMI ports came in handy before I bought a TV; I would hook my game consoles directly into the monitor and they looked great.

At 28 inches, this is plenty big enough to use as a primary screen in a pinch, although you can't plug a coaxial cable into it. As a computer monitor, I'm pretty happy; for the price, you're getting a big beautiful display that's perfect if you want a lot of space to edit images, videos, or use a layout program. It's not the highest-end screen out there, but for my day-to-day needs, it has been more than good enough.

ASUS PB287Q 4k UHD LED Monitor, $399, available at Amazon

A flash drive

I love flash drives enough that I have two of these 256GB drives — one at home and one at work, for different, specific reasons. At work, my flash drive holds my massive music library. The library can't fit on my phone, and I don't want to associate my work computer with my Apple ID, so, for me, this is the best way to listen to music at work.

At home, I use my flash drive for more around-the-house purposes. I make bootable operating system installers, hold large video files on it while making space on my home server and performing other random tasks. I also use it to take large files from one place to another.

I love the cloud, but I'm not going to rely on a fast internet connection to send large project files from place to place. I was reminded of the utility of flash drives recently when my internet went out for a few days. While I wrestled with my Comcast router's settings, I knew anything I worked on at home could be easily taken to work thanks to my flash drive.

16 actresses who are probably way stronger than you

Gal Gadot

Celebrity diets and workouts always seem like huge secrets, until their trainers reveal some of their tricks.

A trend that has been picking up speed inside and outside of Hollywood is weight training.

Everyone from "Wonder Woman" star Gal Gadot to Sports Illustrated model Kate Upton has started taking strength training seriously. Lifting heavy is no longer stigmatized as "just for the boys."

Here are 16 actresses and celebrities who have embraced the weight room — and love it.

Hilary Duff calls herself a "strong little gal."

Hilary Duff recently posted a viral photo of herself in a swimsuit. The actress loves her body for getting her where she needs to go and for giving her a son.

One of the other things she has her body do is weight lift. The actress told Cosmopolitan that she does a lot of strength training. "A lot of jumping, medicine balls, dead lifts, hip thrusts. I'm a pretty strong little gal," she said.

Although she is no longer with her personal trainer boyfriend, Jason Walsh, who trains other celebrities like Allison Brie and Emma Stone, Duff still makes exercise a priority

Megan Fox focuses on back exercises post-babies.

Within the span of two years Megan Fox had two babies. To strengthen her body post-babies, Fox enlisted the help of celeb trainer Harley Pasternak who focused on strengthening her back.

"[We're] really focusing on the muscles behind her body and to draw her posture back," Pasternack told Us Weekly in an interview about Fox's workouts.

"She was basically just pregnant for the better part of two years in between carrying babies," Pasternak went on. "So we got strength in her upper back with back rows, dumbbell rows, and the lower back with the Superman [stretch] for lower back."

Khloe Kardashian does heavy squats.

Khloe Kardashian isn't afraid to lift some heavy weights. Her personal trainer, Gunnar Peterson, often has her doing squats, lat pull downs, and kettlebell swings.

He told Hollywood Life that tiny weights won't cut it. "2 pound weights won't do anything. Your purse weighs more than that, your toddler weighs more than that, your carry-on weighs more than that," he said.

Samsung introduced three new products into its lineup of wearables on Wednesday: the Gear Sport, Gear Fit2 Pro, and Gear Icon X.

The smartwatch, fitness tracking band, and fully wireless earbuds are all updates to previous Samsung Gear products, and are aimed at going "beyond fitness"— meaning Samsung hopes these can be incorporated into everyday life.

"We want to help remove the stigma that fit can only mean one thing and that fitness trackers are complex and for only the most intense of workouts,"DJ Koh, Samsung's president of mobile communications business, said in a press release about the new products.

The new products are arriving just days after Fitbit announced a new smartwatch and wireless headphones, and just several weeks before Apple is expected to release a new Apple Watch. While Samsung hasn't released pricing or availability for all the products yet, they'll likely arrive this fall.

Take a look at Samsung's newest wearables:

4 beauty products you should never splurge on — and 5 that you should

makeup

The INSIDER Summary:

  • Makeup can be pretty expensive, but it's not always necessary to splurge for good quality.
  • It's okay to go for cheaper brands of products like mascara and lipstick.
  • Splurging is advised on items like foundation and eyeshadow.

Any fellow cosmetics zealot can concur that stepping into a makeup aisle instigates the same giddy emotions as a child stepping into a candy store (except the receipt is probably going to rack up a lot more digits). The rows of lustrous lipstick tubes and metallic eyeshadow pigments are enough to have us frantically whipping out our wallets and sprinting to the registers. But although anyone can indulge in online swatch-stalking and makeup-daydreaming, sometimes our bank accounts just can’t justify high-end beauty spending. Do we really need to drop $50 on a lipstick tube? Does that foundation jar from the dollar store really work? Fortunately, not all your makeup items are fated to cost an arm and a leg. To figure out whether you should save or splurge on your next beauty product, we asked experts to give us the scoop on what's really worth the money.

Foundation/Concealer — Splurge

If there is one item that every makeup artist deemed as splurge-worthy, it was foundation with a resounding yes. Because your skin is the biggest (and pickiest) part of your face, you really want to pinpoint a formulation that works best for your skin type. According to Rick DiCecca, Global Makeup Artist for Artistry, “Foundation is an area you want to spend the money — for two reasons: the options and the technology. High quality foundations make your skin look smoother, cover dark spots better, and diminish wrinkles and fines line, while also incorporating the skin-care benefits you desire.” This process is also essential to ensuring your skin maintains all that good stuff it soaked up from your skin-care routine. “With product technology advancing, foundation is no longer your first step in makeup, but your last step in skin care. Also, luxury foundation lines tend to have more shades and finishes to choose from, most definitely splurge! One of my product recommendations is the Artistry YouthXtend Lifting Smoothing Foundation, which comes in 20 different shades.”

Eyeshadow — Splurge

While we all loved those Minnie Mouse makeup palettes growing up, it may be time to upgrade to something a bit more premium for your vanity. Assuming you want the color in the pan to be what actually shows up on your lid, a higher price tag may be required to make sure the desired color is deposited. Because pricier shadows tend to be made with better pigments, they will last longer and blend better. “If you choose to wear eyeshadow, you need a product which is highly pigmented to ensure it stays on all day,” says Murat Evin, Creative Director at The London School of Make-Up. “It is best to invest in eyeshadow which offers staying power against tears, sweat, and rain; otherwise you run the risk of panda eyes.”

Mascara — Save

There are plenty of drugstore options that produce bombshell mascara formulas — and for half the price. Because bacteria multiples easily inside those moist tubes, you should trash it after three months; if you aren’t sure, here’s how to tell your makeup is expired. Since its shelf life is so brief, it’s probably smarter to cut corners on this one. "Expensive or cheap, all mascaras tend to dry out quickly either way (usually within 3 months), so spending big bucks on mascara just isn't practical. Plus, drugstore brand mascaras work great, just make sure you layer a few coats on. With mascara, it's less about the formula and more about the proper brush,” says Cassie Durkin, Brand Educator & Salon Manager at Cherry Blow Dry Bar.

dorm room college studentThe INSIDER Summary:

  • Millions of students are moving into a dorm for the first time this semester.
  • Decorating your dorm room doesn't have to be a daunting experience.
  • When it comes to creating your own haven, you can find plenty of tips from other college students on Twitter.

As summer draws to a close, college students across the country are busy moving in and decorating their new dorm rooms. Although most dorms end up serving as glorified repositories for ramen wrappers and half-empty cans of Natty Light, some students go above and beyond slapping up a Bob Marley poster, and transform their concrete caves into beautiful oases that look like they belong in the pages of a magazine. Many of these aspiring interior decorators took to Twitter to share their impressive dorm set-ups, and I'm not embarrassed to admit that they served up some serious decor inspiration, even for adults.

Even if you've long left the hallowed halls of your alma mater, these dorms can serve as inspiration for how to creatively spruce up your living space. As these distressingly stylish youths show us, fuzzy carpets and pillows add a sense of luxury, plants bring color and life into a room (if you can keep them alive, that is ...), and good lighting is an absolute must.

Check out some of these beautiful dorm set-ups below, and try not to be too jealous. And if you want some easy, grown-a-- apartment decorating hacks, check out our video here.

Amancio Ortega

Despite claiming the title of the richest man in the world, Zara's founder, Amancio Ortega, is a man of mystery.

On Wednesday, Ortega beat out Bill Gates to become the richest person on Earth, Forbes reported. Ortega currently has a $200 million edge over Microsoft co-founder Bill Gates, due in part to a particularly good week for the stock of Inditex, Zara's parent company.

According to Forbes, Ortega has crowded the world's richest person three other times — but has always surrendered the No. 1 position within a day.

Despite Ortega's enormous net worth, many people have never heard of him. He is an incredibly private man, is rarely seen in public, and has given just a handful of interviews throughout his incredibly successful career.

That career began when Ortega founded fast-fashion giant Zara with his then-wife Rosalia in 1975. Today, his retail company Inditex SA — which owns Zara, Massimo Dutti, and Pull&Bear — has 7,385 outposts around the world.

While Ortega is immensely private, we do know a fair amount about him. Here's everything you need to know about the richest man in fashion.

Ashley Lutz and Mallory Schlossberg contributed reporting to an earlier version of this article.

ledeSome people think the only things you need to drive are their keys and a full tank of gas.

Well, accidents happen and emergencies arise, so being prepared while on the road is important.

Whether you're taking a spirited drive for fun or traveling from point A to point B, there a few things that everyone should keep in their car at all times.

Sure, you can never be too prepared, but with a few basic items you can find you way out of almost any jam — or, at the very least, they'll make getting help easier.

No matter what year, make, or model your car is it should come with basics like a tire iron and jack, but those two items alone won't cut it. If you end up with a dead battery or empty gas tank, you'll want a few other things to help you out.

Check out the 8 items you should keep in your car at all times below:

A flashlight

Sure, your smart phone has a flashlight app on it, but it's not as useful as the a real one. The Outlite A100 has a bright light with an adjustable focus and five modes, including a disrupter strobe and SOS function.

Living in New York City, you eventually get creative about turning shallow, small closets into impressive storage solutions.

Clutter creates stress, and when it’s at home in the one room you can potentially really call your own, that’s not a good thing.

Having a mess bombards your senses with excessive stimuli, distracts us, makes it hard for the brain to relax (there is always work to be done), makes us anxious and guilty, and inhibits creativity and productivity. It also means you can only find one of your gym socks.

Fortunately, there are a few inexpensive ways to maximize your space and therefore your relaxation time at home. It can be as simple as making the decision now and spending half your Saturday (maybe not even) going through your things and stacking them into smarter organizational tools that make use of your space.

Below you’ll find 10 ways you can get started right now by turning even the smallest of closets into an organizational dream (or at the least, enough space to store all the stuff you can’t part with):

DON'T MISS: The 10 best purchases I've made to save space in my small apartment

1. Invest in a closet organization system to add shelf and hanger space

It might seem like a big upfront investment, but a closet organizer can address all of your needs in one sitting.

ClosetMaid ShelfTrack Adjustable Closet Organizer Kit, $99 - $132.99

2. Make use of awkward spaces purposefully

This is especially useful if you can't trust yourself to fold sweaters perfectly each time. It's going to save you a lot of time and energy by divvying up space for you already. Even if they aren't perfectly folded, they'll stay in their zone.

Evelots Closet Shelf Dividers, Set of 4, currently available from third party sellers at $22.60 and up

3. Use all available space, especially if its space easily hidden from main room

Especially if it's the backside of a door you won't be seeing from the bedroom, why on earth wouldn't you want to maximize and use that space? You can throw a mirror on the front and a shoe organizer or shelves on the back, keeping your shoes as flat and vertically strapped as possible, so they take up less room in general.
