9 high-end, glamping RVs you can rent on Airbnb

  • Staying in a converted Airstream is a unique way of experiencing camping in the surrounds of nature, without the hassle of pitching a tent.
  • The silver RV's were originally popularized in the 50s and 60s, but have recently enjoyed a revival.
  • The variety of activities offered by these 'glamping' locations range from stargazing, to goat milking, to mountain-top yoga.

Pack your hiking boots, but skip the sleeping bag: It’s time to go glamping.

Glamping is for travelers who want to camp in luxury, exploring nature in secluded natural environments but staying in renovated Airstreams or furnished tents with electric ports. It’s one reason that recreational vehicles are seeing a resurgence. Sales have been soaring, due to both retiring baby boomers and a new millennial fan base, according to the Wall Street Journal.

But for plenty of people, an RV in the driveway isn’t quite as appealing as an occasional weekend in a tricked-out, secluded Airstream. Check out these nine extreme glamping sites, all available on Airbnb.

Wimberley, Texas

Get close to Texas' natural beauty in this RV, located right in the heart of Hill Country. This highly rated Airstream — nicknamed the "Dixie Daisy"— includes a hot tub, outdoor shower, fire pit and patio grill, set within 10 acres of trails and creeks. Use the day to sample the region's own rural attractions, or drive into San Antonio and Austin for some city amenities, then unwind at night by snuggling up with your partner to watch something of the (included) impressive selection of Western movies.

Mill Valley, California

Get ready for a blast from the past in this groovy 1969 Airstream just north of San Francisco. The vintage RV has an iconic aluminum exterior, kitchen appliances entirely in retro red, and various 1970s paraphernalia like lava lamps and dream catchers.

The rental is perfectly situated right between San Francisco's trendy restaurants and Napa and Sonoma valleys' scenic wineries; there are also various trails nearby for hiking and biking.

Cosby, Tennessee

Camp in the Smoky Mountains in style. This snug, 6-by-12-foot red 1959 Shasta camper is nestled in the woods of Tennessee and has a bonfire right outside. As a bonus, the host family includes complimentary breakfast fixings: homemade bread, eggs and goat's milk from their own farm.

9 habits of unsuccessful people

upset man sad stress

• Nobody's perfect — most of us have picked up a bad habit or two at some point.

• Most of the time, a bad habit won't wreck your whole life.

• Still, it's probably best to avoid these success-sabotaging tendencies.

Bad habits may not seem like a big deal on their own, but sometimes they can seriously drag you down in your life and career.

Of course, no one is perfect. In most cases, bad habits only result in relatively minor problems. So if you recognize one of these compulsions as your own, you probably have nothing to worry about.

However, in more extreme cases, certain tendencies can actually thwart you dreams of success.

Here are the top nine habits of unsuccessful people:

SEE ALSO: I spent a week skipping breakfast and working out for 2 hours a day just like Gwyneth Paltrow — and it helped me break some of my worst habits

1. You're always tardy

Sure, things happen, but consistent tardiness is typically unacceptable in a professional setting. Showing up late makes you look careless and unreliable.

As Laura Schocker wrote for the Huffington Post, one San Francisco State University study linked " chronic lateness and certain personality characteristics, including anxiety, low self-control and a tendency toward thrill-seeking."

2. You hold grudges

You don't need to walk around singing kumbaya. It's fine and normal to dislike and distrust certain people in your life.

But holding intense grudges is just a waste of your valuable time and energy. In an article for Web MD, Mike Fillon cited one Hope College study that found that holding a grudge can even have negative health effects.

So learn to let things go.

3. You conform

Conforming was a survival tactic in middle school, but you're an adult with a career now. Stop caring intently about what others think and falling in line just for the sake of getting along. Do what works for you.

If you devote all your time to blending in, you'll never stand out.

  • The up-and-coming e-learning site has especially robust offerings in Microsoft Excel and project management.
  • You can become a more valuable employee, a more effective manager, or a standout job applicant with the help of the online lessons.

You don't have to have a business degree to excel in your career, but it certainly helps to be in-the-know about the common software, applications, and processes used in workplaces everywhere. If your goal is to learn new business skills, you have many available options.

Online classes are among the most convenient and affordable ways to gain these new skills, and while I typically defer to a few favorites, I recently came across a useful site called GoSkills, an online-learning platform that focuses exclusively on important technical and soft business skills.

Whereas other popular e-learning sites tend to offer classes across a broad range of subjects — useful in its own right if you have a variety of learning interests — GoSkills is geared toward anyone looking specifically to improve their effectiveness in the professional world.

It currently offers 60 courses in web development, Microsoft Office, Adobe software, project management, and more. You can find skills that are increasingly valued in the workplace like Scrum and Advanced Microsoft Excel alongside skills that will never go out of fashion like Business Writing and Leadership Training. Whether you're looking to evolve in your current role, brush up on skills you learned a while ago, or transition to a new position, GoSkills gives you the educational support to do so.

GoSkills uses a combination of video tutorials, exercises, and quizzes in its lessons, as e-learning sites typically do, but is unique in its personalized learning approach: Because no two students are the same, the course syllabi are personalized based on your prior skills and experience. After you take a placement test to identify your strengths and weaknesses, GoSkills shows you what areas to focus on so you can accelerate your learning. You're probably a busy person juggling other commitments, so the trick here is to study smarter, not harder.

Pricing is straightforward. After a 7-day free trial, you can pay $39 a month for access to all courses on the site, or pay $299 at once for a year of acesss, saving you $169. You can also pay $29 for access to just one course, though learning more than one skill will never be detrimental to your professional development.

MORGAN STANLEY: We're convinced these 7 stocks will explode higher over the next 2 months

volcano erupt

  • Morgan Stanley says corporate earnings growth, which has been a crucial driver of the stock market's record-breaking run, will start slowing around midyear.
  • The firm has identified seven stocks around which it has high positive conviction this earnings season.

Earnings season has been a bright spot for the stock market for several quarters. You could even argue it has been the root cause of the equity explosion that has served investors so well.

Morgan Stanley, however, says to enjoy the profit growth party now while you still can, because it's not going to last.

The firm sees earnings expansion peaking midyear as it becomes clearer just how much of an impact Republicans' tax law will have on companies. At that point, the positive impact will be fully accounted for in corporate forecasts. And once that happens, the bar will be set extremely high for subsequent quarters, making it hard to achieve year-over-year growth.

But it's not all bad news. Since the strongest companies are likely to continue on a growth trajectory, they'll be easier to identify once the rest of the market starts to fade. With that in mind, the trick becomes knowing which stocks fit the bill.

That's where Morgan Stanley comes in. The firm's chief US equity strategist, Mike Wilson, has teamed up with a wide range of industry analysts to identify seven companies around which they have high positive conviction this earnings season.

Without further ado, here are those stocks, with an explanation of why Morgan Stanley industry analysts like them so much:

Align Technology

Ticker: ALGN

Sector: Healthcare

Price target: $300

Morgan Stanley commentary: "ALGN remains a beat and raise story for us. We expect a strong 4Q, as our AlphaWise tracker suggests 3-7% upside to 4Q Invisalign case volume guidance. Our 4Q revenue estimate for 41% growth is also 4% consensus and EPS +75% Y/Y, 8% above consensus."

Colgate-Palmolive

Ticker: CL

Sector: Consumer staples

Price target: $83

Morgan Stanley commentary: "We have high conviction in a Q4 topline re-acceleration. CL tracked channel sales growth has improved to +2.1% in Q4 vs. -3.0% in Q1-Q3 in the US, and similarly inflected to +7.2% in Q4 TD vs. -1.0% in Q1-Q3 in Europe. Further, we remain constructive on an EM growth pickup."

E-Trade Financial

Ticker: ETFC

Sector: Financials

Price target: $63

Morgan Stanley commentary: "We expect ETFC to report NIM of 288 bps in 4Q, above prior guidance of a low-to-mid 280 bps range. We also expect a 4Q adjusted operating margin (ex-credit costs) of 42.1% (+540 bps vs. a year ago and +200 bps vs. guidance). ETFC should also be major beneficiary of tax reform, and will likely return the majority of any benefits to shareholders, in our view."

Inside the mysterious LA sex club that costs up to $75,000 a year and is rumored to have hosted Gwyneth Paltrow as a guest

Snctm

  • Snctm is an elite members-only sex club.
  • Rumored guests at Snctm's events have included Gwyneth Paltrow and Bill Maher.
  • The club's founder is currently feuding with its first member, Phuong Tran.

Snctm, a members-only elite sex club that hosts international events, is in hot water — and it could potentially jeopardize the privacy of its wealthy members.

The club — where a basic membership costs $20,000, while the special "Violet Key membership" for male members is a one-time payment of $1 million — centers itself on the idea of exploring the boundaries of what sex means, and how it makes its members feel. Snctm has reportedly hosted high-profile guests at its parties including Gwyneth Paltrow and Bill Maher.

Referred to as "erotic theater" by its founder, Damon Lawner, the club hosts masquerades, pool parties, classes, and dinner events for its male members, as well as approved female guests, all with the ability for attendees to either participate, or simply act as voyeurs.

This week a feud erupted between Lawner and the club's first and most notorious member, Phuong Tran — also known by his character name, "Bunnyman"— when it was announced that Tran's membership had been revoked.

Tran posted an Instagram in November to say he believed "The pillars (privacy, safety, and exploration) that sustained the Club have crumbled." He has also accused Lawner of leaking names of celebrity guests to the media. The Dominus membership — the type Tran lost — is available to only 20 people worldwide and costs $75,000.

While no photography is allowed inside a Snctm event, HBO and Showtime have both aired documentaries exploring the parties the club hosts. Below are scenes from their recordings that show a small glimpse into the private and exclusive world of Snctm.

In an interview published on Gwyneth Paltrow's lifestyle site Goop, Lawner said his inspiration for creating Snctm was to have "a meaningful conversation about sex, relationship, erotica, fetish, love, pain, and ultimately pleasure of the highest vibration that we might reach together."

Source: Goop

Becoming a member is a competitive, and expensive process. In terms of what they're looking for in members, Lawner told Goop: "Beauty, intelligence, wit, success, sexiness, wisdom, openness, non-judgment, desire to explore, fearlessness."

netflix brightAs Netflix will be releasing 80 new original films over the course of 2018, it's worthwhile to take stock of all that the service currently offers.

While the company's first entry into the realm of big-budget films, the Will Smith-led "Bright," has been scorched by critics, Netflix CEO Reed Hastings has hailed the fantasy-action thriller as a commercial success that critics are "disconnected" from.

On the opposite end of the critical spectrum, Dee Rees' period drama "Mudbound" recently earned the company four Oscar nominations in a record haul that appears to have legitimized Netflix as an awards season contender for feature films.

To figure out which Netflix original films are actually worth watching, we turned to the reviews aggregator Rotten Tomatoes to rank each release by its composite critical reception. We excluded documentaries and any film that didn't have enough reviews to receive a designation of "Rotten" or "Fresh," and we used audience scores to break ties.

Americans should start to see the impact of the Republican tax law next month. The Internal Revenue Service has directed employers to update their income-tax withholdings to reflect the new law by February 15.

UBS thinks certain parts of the economy will disproportionately benefit from consumers' bigger paychecks.

"We find that lodging, entertainment, housing, other transport (i.e. air) should benefit most, with incremental growth of ~3% above prior baseline levels, followed by alcohol and new cars," Keith Parker, the head of US equity strategy at UBS, said in a note on Thursday.

Based on new guidance from the Internal Revenue Service, UBS estimates that the monthly pay increases would range from $86 for a couple earning $50,000 to $1,456 for a couple earning $500,000.

The bank's consumer analysts picked 15 stocks they see as the biggest beneficiaries from higher disposable incomes.

Whether it’s motivated by saving money, losing weight, or being kinder to your body, meal prep is a simple way to change your life almost immediately.

While you might enjoy the fact that your local sub shop knows you by name, your bank account probably doesn’t. And no matter how rigorously you follow a fitness plan, if you come home and eat the same boxed mac and cheese every night, you won’t be seeing the results you should be — and trust me, I have tried it.

Meal prep can mean different things to different people, but ultimately, it’s preparing your food ahead of time to save yourself time in the kitchen and make it easier to enjoy healthy foods during the week.

If you get the right tools (and download the right apps), it can be simpler and faster than you think. Below, I’ve rounded up 15 of the highest-rated kitchen tools on Amazon that will make some aspect of meal prep easier to do. Once you set up a system, it’s much easier to get into a habit.

Manchester United lifts Europa League title

Financial services firm Deloitte has once again released its Football Money League, charting the massive revenues of Europe's biggest football clubs.

The English Premier League dominates Deloitte's ranking with 10 clubs in the top 20 list, the most from one single league since records began.

The financial power of English clubs was largely thanks to Premier League contracts worth in excess of £8 billion over three years.

However, clubs from the Ligue 1 in France, La Liga in Spain, and Germany's Bundesliga all competed for the top spot, along with one of the very best from England.

According to Deloitte, this year's battle for first place was "the closest in Money League history" with only £1.5 million separating the club in first place from the club in second place.

Scroll down to see who the top performers are this year.

20. Everton FC — €199.2 million (£171.2 million or $244 million). Massive broadcast revenue of £130.5 million played a large part in Everton's total earnings last year. However, its big training ground sponsorship deal with USM Holdings added a hefty chunk to its commercial earnings.

19. Napoli — €200.7 million (£172.5 million or $245.6 million). Last season, Napoli finished third in Serie A and reached the Round of 16 in the Champions League. That European adventure caused an uptake in revenue. Deloitte, though, hints that the best is yet to come. This is because the club currently leads the Italian league and may win the Serie A for the first time since 1990.

18. Southampton FC — €212.1 million (£182.3 million or $259.9 million). This is Southampton's first ever appearance in the Money League and it is largely because of broadcasting revenue, which accounts for £143 million of the club's total revenue. The club is also two years into its three-year shirt deal with key sponsor Virgin Media.

Ohio Governor John Kasich

Hail to the chief of state.

Zippia analyzed the salary of every governor based on information received from Ballotpedia. With this data, we can compare the 50 governors of the United States to see how much each makes.

Most governors are paid at least $100,000, but leaders of six states receive a five-figure salary. The wages from $70,000 to $187,818.

While the pay pales in comparison to that of some CEOs and execs, staying at the Governor's Mansion can be a great stepping stone in a political career. Of the 44 men who have been president of the United States, 17 previously served as governor. The most recent to do so was George W. Bush, who was working out of the capitol building in Austin, Texas when he was elected president.

Of the current slate of governors, 33 are Republicans, 16 are Democrats, and one is an Independent. There will be gubernatorial elections in 36 states during 2018.

I used to work at Chipotle — here are the secrets I never told customers

Chipotle

I worked at a Chipotle in White Plains, NY for 2 months when I was in college.

During my time rolling burritos, I learned some fascinating things, from secret menu items and ordering hacks to interesting lesser-known facts about the company.

For example, did you know that you can order alcohol and nachos at many Chipotle locations? But you should never order a quesorito — unless you want to anger the employee making it.

From secret menu items to hacks, here are 11 things I learned during my time rolling burritos at Chipotle.

You can sample anything

Want to know what something tastes like or simply fill up on tiny portions of everything? All you need to do is ask.

You can get an adult-sized quesadilla

The quesadilla is technically an item on the kid's menu, but you can order an adult-sized version as an adult. You can even get it with meat.

The reason guac is extra is simple: avocados are expensive

This one's just simple math: if the company has to pay extra for an ingredient, so do you. As avocados become more expensive as climate change continues, the price of Chipotle's guacamole might rise, too.

The most boring place to live in every state

Pine Bluff, Arkansas

If you like big cities with tons of food and culture to explore, there are plenty of destinations in the US where you won't be at a loss for things to do. But if you like taking life at a slower pace, these "boring" cities might be worth a visit.

Our sister site Business Insider created a list of the most boring place in every state. To create this list, they counted the number of establishments for 66 different types of businesses that make a city "interesting" like breweries, art dealers, and museums with data from the Census Bureau's 2015 County Business Patterns program. They then picked the metro areas with the lowest count of these businesses to determine the most boring place to live in each state.

This list defines cities by each of the 381 Metropolitan Statistical Areas recognized by the federal government. Rhode Island and Vermont didn't make the cut because they don't have at least two metro areas according to this definition.

Here are the most boring cities in the US.

A white noise machine

Low, ambient noise can help soothe your child before he or she goes to sleep. There are a lot of white noise machines specifically aimed at children, but we're going to recommend this one from Marpac instead. It may be as cute looking as your air conditioner, but what it lacks in looks it makes up for in functionality.

Two motors and a fan sit inside the case and can be adjusted to change the sound of the white noise it creates. Parents who've used this machine have raved about it on Amazon, claiming it really does help their baby sleep through the night.

Marpac DOHM-DS, Natural White Noise Sound Machine, $49.99, available at Amazon

A humidifier

Keeping a humidifier in your baby's room helps to keep dry air from irritating their nose and throat, leaving them more susceptible to sickness. This humidifier from Pure Enrichment will dispense water vapor into the air for 16 hours once its tank is full and automatically turn off when the water level gets too low.

The humidifier is quiet, so much so that some Amazon reviewers were disappointed because they couldn't also use it as a white noise machine. Its most baby-friendly feature is the fact that it comes with a built-in night light.

Ultrasonic Cool Mist Humidifier by Pure Enrichment, $39.99, available at Amazon

A bottle sterilizer

Instead of washing your baby's bottles in a sink or dishwasher, Phillip's bottle sterilizer lets you clean them in a microwave using steam. The main benefits of cleaning bottles this way are that the microwave gets hotter than those other methods, which helps kill germs, and it takes less time. Plus, if you keep the container sealed, all the bottles inside will stay sterilized for an entire day.

The bottle sterilizer holds six bottles, but the catch is that it's made to fit with Phillip's Avent bottles. If you don't own any baby bottles yet that shouldn't be a problem, but it is something to keep in mind if you own bottles from other brands. Amazon reviewers had mixed results when trying to use different bottles with this device.

Philips AVENT Microwave Steam Sterilizer, $23.81, available at Amazon

• But according to the Occupational Information Network (O*NET), there are a number of well-paid jobs that require a level of interest in history.

• Many of those occupations are academic in nature.

You know what they say — those who study history are doomed to watch others repeat it.

That being said, history buffs aren't necessarily doomed to a life of subpar wages, despite the anti-humanities naysayers.

If you're dead set on pursuing your passion and entering a field that involves history or archaeology, you've actually got a couple of options when it comes to well-paid jobs.

We checked out the Occupational Information Network (O*NET), a US Department of Labor database that compiles detailed information on hundreds of jobs, and looked at salary data on the US Bureau of Labor Statistics' website to find positions with a median annual salary of over $60,000 that require an extensive knowledge of history.

O*NET ranks how important "knowledge of historical events and their causes, indicators, and effects on civilizations and cultures" is in any job, assigning each a "history importance level" between one and 100.

Judging from this list, it's mostly academia or bust for history lovers. Sadly, historians themselves didn't make the cut — as the median pay for that job was $55,800 a year.

Here are 19 high-paying positions with a history-importance level of 45 or higher:

24 actors who played the President of the United States — and how they compare to the real thing

obama movie real life

The most interesting people in the world are those who become president. What does it take to get to the top? And what happens when we take them down from their lofty status and find the humans inside them?

The best movies and TV shows do just that. But it always helps to look the part. So we put together a list of actors who played former presidents and how they compared to real life.

We didn't include fictional presidents — apologies to the corny bloviator in "Independence Day" and the sexual predator in "Love Actually"— and some presidents, like James Madison and Thomas Jefferson, surprisingly haven't received very dedicated pop culture depictions. For all you William Henry Harrison fans who want something more than a glorified cameo in a Western movie, sorry, you'll just have to wait a little longer.

This list also doesn't include any parodies. So while "Saturday Night Live" has some excellent impressions, they're not on this list.

Here are 24 actors who played the President of the United States and how they compared to the real thing.

For America's first president, George Washington doesn't have too many dedicated biopics. The fullest adaptation of his life is the 1984 CBS miniseries "George Washington," where he was played by Barry Bostwick.

The series covered his life from age 11 to 51, just before he began his presidency, and is based on James Thomas Flexner's mammoth biography.

He's a bit more rosy-cheeked, with rounder features, in Gilbert Stuart's famous 1796 portrait.

The best image we have of Washington wss painted in 1796, where Washington looks pretty different from Bostwick.

For our second president, John Adams, we have Paul Giamatti's portrayal.

He played the American politician in the 2008 HBO miniseries "John Adams."

Ferrari World Abu Dhabi

  • Ferrari World is located on Abu Dhabi's Yas Island in the United Arab Emirates.
  • The indoor amusement park opened in November 2010.
  • Its centerpiece is Formula Rossa which park claims is the fastest rollercoaster in the world.

I love Disney World. Since childhood, the park's rides, ambiance, and over presentation really make it the most magical place on earth. But as deep as my love for all things Disney may run, my love for cars run even deeper. And the most revered brand in the automotive universe is Ferrari.

So when the Italian supercar maker opened a theme park of its own in the United Arab Emirates, I had no choice but to make the pilgrimage over to experience Ferrari World Abu Dhabi.

Ferrari World is located on Yas Island, a few minutes drive away from Abu Dhabi International Airport and the Yas Marina Circuit, home of Formula One's Abu Dhabi Grand Prix.

Construction on the park started in 2007 and opened for business in November 2010. Ferrari World is open seven days a week from 11:00 am to 8:00 pm. Tickets start at AED 295 or $80 with discounts up to 15% available for those who purchase more than 15 days in advance.

Here's a closer look at Ferrari World Abu Dhabi.

Welcome to Ferrari World!

Ferrari World is an indoor amusement covered by a 2.2 million square foot aluminum roof. From the air, it looks like a weird spaceship.

The theme park is actually located next to the Yas Mall and is connected to the mega shopping center via tunnel.
