On Friday, the leaders of North Korea and South Korea will meet for their highest-level talks in over a decade.

They will met in Panmunjom, the site of the signing of the Korean Armistice Agreement in 1953 that's known as the "truce village."

Since then, Panmunjom has become the only part of the demilitarized zone where soldiers from the two Koreas face one another every day, and where foreign dignitaries come to peer into North Korea for themselves.

But life in Panmunjom and the surrounding villages is remarkably ordinary. People shop, kids attend schools, and farmers till the fields — though mostly with a backdrop of high tensions and a military presence.

There's also a thriving tourist scene. According to PRI, visitors must sign a form that says they understand it "will entail entry into a hostile area and the possibility of injury or death."

Here's what the "truce village" is like.

The "Peace House" sits on the South Korean side of Panmunjom in the demilitarized zone, where talks between North Korea and South will take place on Tuesday.

The six blue-and-white buildings, used as conference rooms, straddle the demarcation line.

Over the years, many photos have captured North Korean soldiers looking into these rooms while South Korean officials use them.

South Korea is pulling out all the stops for the upcoming inter-Korean summit this week where President Moon Jae-in will meet with Kim Jong Un for the first time — and the food they'll be eating will be fraught with symbolism.

Friday's summit follows Kim making an unexpected trip to Beijing and precedes a much-awaited planned summit with President Donald Trump. It will take place in the "truce village" of Panmunjom in the Korean Demilitarized Zone.

There have only been two such summits since the start of the Korean War in 1950, with both held during the reign of Kim's father, Kim Jong Il.

As the summit follows a year of extreme tension between the Koreas, it carries high expectations: South Korean officials are reportedly aiming for a peace treaty between the two countries by the end of the summit.

The South Korean President's official residence, also known as the Blue House, released the menu and sample photos of what the two leaders will be eating on Tuesday. The order of the courses is not clear.

• The Chernobyl nuclear power station disaster in 1986 was the worst nuclear disasters in history.

Thirty-two years ago on April 26, 1986, a radioactive release 10 times bigger than the nuclear bomb on Hiroshima occurred at the Chernobyl nuclear power station inside the Soviet Union.

Chernobyl would go down in history as one of the worst disasters of its kind.

The explosion in Chernobyl blasted radioactive gas and dust into the air, and winds carried it across central and southern Europe. Thirty-one people died in the accident, and thousands of lives have been affected long-term by the exposure to radiation.

Around 150,000 people were forced to evacuate their homes in the "Nuclear Exclusion Zone," the area in a 18-mile radius around the plant. The town hardest hit was Pripyat, Ukraine, where the Chernobyl plant was located. The town was evacuated and remains empty to this day.

In 2012, construction began on the New Safe Confinement structure, which covers the Chernobyl nuclear power plant.

The cause of the explosion at Chernobyl was two-fold. The first major issue was that the power station was built with faulty construction and what American physicist and Nobel laureate Hans Bethe has called "built-in instability."

At the time of the accident, the power station had four 1,000-megawatt power reactors in place. A fifth one was in the works.

One of the multiple issues was the reactor's containment structure. Built entirely of concrete, it should have been reinforced with steel.

• Some of the worst superhero movies of all time didn't come from Marvel or DC Comics.

There is no denying that Marvel and DC Comics release the biggest amount of great superhero movies on a regular basis. On the Marvel side, there are the very lucrative "Avengers" films, the critically-acclaimed "Thor: Ragnarok," as well as the films who manage to succeed by every measure, such as "Black Panther." On the DC side, there are Oscar-worthy films like "The Dark Knight," profitable projects such as "Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice," and also critical and commercial blockbusters like "Wonder Woman." However, Marvel has occasionally failed its fans, and DC is no stranger to criticism.

When it comes to superhero movies outside of the Marvel and DC spectrum, we occasionally get to watch exciting projects such as "Hellboy,""Unbreakable,""The Incredibles," and "RoboCop," which show that you do not necessarily need decades of published graphic novels or a major comic book company behind you in order to be successful. 16. "The Crow: Wicked Prayer"

1994’s "The Crow" starring Brendon Lee became a cult hit that has withstood the test of time. Directed by Alex Proyas — who went on to direct 2004’s "I, Robot" — and written by David J. Schow and John Shirley, the film was based on James O’Barr’s superhero comic book series of the same name, and became one of Miramax’s three big hits from that year, along with "Pulp Fiction" and "Clerks."

However, as sequels started to get greenlit with literally no one from the original production team behind it, the franchise failed to succeed. 1996’s "The Crow: City of Angels" and 2000's "The Crow: Salvation" were badly received by audiences and critics, but even those films managed to be better than what would come later, 2005’s "The Crow: Wicked Prayer," which ultimately became the franchise’s very last installment.

15. "The Phantom"

The 1980s and 1990s were great decades for Billy Zane: two "Back to the Future" installments, "Titanic," and "Twin Peaks." He was enjoying an all-time high demand. But among those incredible successes, the actor starred in a big-budget superhero film called "The Phantom," which came with the extraordinarily unimpressive tagline “Slam evil.”

The Phantom had a very poor performance at the box office, failing to even reach $20 million domestically.

Despite the claims from Paramount that the movie did very well on VHS and DVD sales, a planned sequel — rumored to have Catherina Zeta-Jones in the cast — never actually happened.

With the commercial and critical success of 2008’s "Iron Man" and "The Dark Knight," the studio discussed possibly rebooting the franchise, but the plans never got off the ground.

14. "Sky High"

Before outright buying Marvel, Disney decided that it should develop its very own superhero franchise, which was certainly prompted by the massive success that Sony was having with Sam Raimi’s "Spider-Man" trilogy.

Disney’s "Sky High" was released in 2005 starring Kurt Russell and Kelly Preston. It was about a high school for teenage superheroes, which at once gave audiences a Harry Potter/Hogwarts feel while still also trying to capitalize on the superhero genre. On paper, it was a win/win concept for the studio. However, the story of Will Stronghold going to class at Sky High was not compelling enough for audiences, which prompted the film to receive lackluster reviews and weak box office earnings.

A year later, the Disney Channel beat its own parent studio with the release of "High School Musical," which became a much more successful high school-based franchise than "Sky High."

While Broadcom's foiled $130 billion take over of its rival Qualcomm captured the attention of the tech industry, it wasn't the only acquisition on the docket for the first quarter.

Deal value in Q1 was up 36% from the year before and deal volume was up just 4%, according to the PwC Deals report, published Thursday. Altogether, 506 M&A deals took place involving the US tech companies, with around $60 billion trading hands.

7. SAP America’s $2.4 billion acquisition of CallidusCloud

In January, the $130.7 billion enterprise software company SAP announced its $2.4 billion acquisition of CallidusCloud, which makes sales performance management software.

SAP paid a 28% premium for CallidusCloud, which it plans to integrate with its existing customer relationship management offerings to give "SAP immediate leadership in the Lead to Money space." 

6. Altra Industrial Motion's $3 billion acquisition of Fortive

Altra Industrial Motion, a $1.3 billion producer of mechanical power transition products, like brakes and clutches, paid $3 billion to acquire a division of Fortive that focuses on automation and specialty platforms.

The acquisition includes assets in "precision motion control"— an area of engineering that combines electric, electronic and software to achieve its job.

5. KLA-Tencor’s $3.4 billion acquisition of Orbotech

In March, the $15.67 billion KLA-Tencor announced plans to acquire Orbotech, an Israel-based consumer and industrial electronic manufacturing company for $3.4 billion.

KLA-Tencor is a semiconductor and nano-electronics company focused on developing technologies to inspect and monitor manufacturing quality. Orbotech manufactures technologies that similarly aid in the production of semi-conductors and circuit boards.

You've probably seen the giant face taco shell, the barfing rainbow and the dancing hot dog, perhaps the three most popular examples of augmented reality on Snapchat. But that's not it.

The self-proclaimed camera company has made a massive push into AR, and has consistently iterated on its offerings to get as many marketers on board as quickly as possible.

Marketers consider Snapchat the market leader in this field, with Tom Buontempo, the president of the ad agency Attention, telling Business Insider recently that "they seem to be headed in the right direction by doubling down on something they can own."

The majority of Snapchatters use the app for communicating and exchanging content with their closest friends, not a wide audience. And 87% of users rank close friends as the most influential factor in purchasing decisions, according to research commissioned by Snap.

So brands can theoretically tap into the app's millions of daily users, and convert them into brand advocates at scale. HBO recently did this when it created a shareable lens for the season two premiere of its hit show "Westworld,"  by putting an unforgettable moment from the show on the user’s face.

One of the big stories in the car business over the past two years has been the realignment of sales in the US. Pickup trucks have always done well, but as the market was setting records in 2016 and 2017, SUVs were moving up while sedans were moving down. 

Ford just announced that it would no longer invest in passenger cars for the US markets, and General Motors has been existing car-heavy markets for years, most recently selling its Opel division in Europe. Fiat Chrysler Automobiles got on the trend earlier, transforming car plants into SUV plants.

So four-doors aren't the be-all, end-all products they once were, for both mass-market and luxury brands. But for luxury brands in particular, mainstays such as the BMW 3-Series and the Mercedes S-Class have been watching as their SUV counterparts capture new buyers. 

Does that mean that the sedan is truly dying? Not entirely. Ask anybody in the industry and they'll tell you that Toyota Camrys and Honda Accords and even Chevy Malibus are still important vehicles. Audi continues to take four-doors seriously. But it's also clear that a customer can now start out with a small SUV and work his or her way all to a big one, and never look twice at a sedan.

Here's what I had to say about the $52,000 test car in our review:

The Stinger takes things to a whole new level. This is easily the best car Kia has ever made, but more than that, it's among the best cars of its type that I've driven. The comparison that jumped immediately to mind was the Alfa Romeo Giulia Quadrifoglio, a 505-horsepower beast that was a finalist for Business Insider's 2017 Car of the Year.

BMW 7-Series

We were impressed enough the say in our review that the $90,000 bimmer is "easily the finest 7 Series that BMW has ever built."

Plus, we named it a finalist for our 2015 Car of the Year. The new 7-Series is basically incredible. Crammed with technology and capable of BMW-level performance and pure cruising comfort, it has reset expectations for what is probably BMWs history least-loved car.

Audi A4

In our review of a $52,000 tester, Business Insider's Ben Zhang wrote that the "Audi A4 is everything you could want in a modern compact luxury sedan," adding that "it's the best car Audi has ever made."

The A4 was a finalist for BI's 2017 Car of the Year. It was also one of those cars that we unanimously adored. We literally couldn't find anything wrong with it. Nothing.

I decided to check out one of the newest restaurant additions and nightlife destinations — The Edison. I wanted to experience everything the restaurant had to offer, so I made a later dinner reservation with the intentions of sticking around for some of the world-class entertainment acts.

Out of all the new dining destination in Disney Springs, The Edison really stuck out to me not only for its gothic steampunk meets roaring twenties aesthetic, but for its impressive variety of entertainment and cuisine.

If you like American fare with a twist, The Edison is a perfect dining experience for you. Their menu has a little something for everyone including tasty shareable appetizers, fresh salads, delicious entrees, and delightful desserts.

Here's what my experience was like dining at the restaurant.

As the story of The Edison goes, this massive building was once a power plant that has since been reimagined into a restaurant, bar, and lounge.

During the daytime, The Edison is playful and therefore an ideal spot for families to dine.

The Edison transforms into more of a nightclub setting after 9 p.m. They do check IDs, so guests under 21 won't be allowed in.

If you're into enjoying a drink or two, The Edison has a variety of signature cocktails and mocktails that are to die for.

I had the Samantha Sterling, which is made with grey goose vodka, Lillet rose, watermelon, lime, and cinnamon cordial. My friend decided to go for one of their mocktails, Alva's Lemon Elixer.

• Snap unveiled a new version of its Spectacles camera glasses on Thursday.
• The latest model is a bit slimmer, $20 more expensive, can take photos, offers prescription lenses for an additional fee, and is water resistant.

Snap, Snapchat's parent company, launched a new version of its camera glasses, Spectacles, on Thursday. 

The new model is slightly slimmer, can take photos, and they're water-resistant, Snap said in a release. 

"Tap the button to record video with new and improved audio, and now, you can press and hold to take a photo! Snaps you capture will transfer to Snapchat up to four times faster, and always in HD," according to the Snap release.

The first version of Spectacles only sold about 150,000 pairs, despite heavy early hype, and Snap was forced to take a $40 million writedown. But Snap says it is a camera company, and it is moving forward with its only hardware camera product.

Here are five famous royal heirlooms from the royal family that Kate Middleton wears.

Pearl drop earrings

To debut her third royal baby to the world, Middleton wore pearl drop earrings belonging to the queen. Middleton has worn them several times, including on a 2016 royal tour to Holland. Queen Elizabeth last wore them for her Diamond Jubilee celebrations in 2012, acccording to People.

Middleton's red dress also paid homage to what Princess Diana wore after having Prince Harry.

Engagement ring

Princess Diana's engagement ring is one of the most recognizable rings in the world. A 12-carat sapphire surrounded by 14 diamonds, it was just another piece in Garrard's catalogue that any member of the public could buy until Lady Diana Spencer picked it as her engagement ring and made it famous, according to InStyle. Prince William proposed to Middleton with it in 2010 and she's continued to wear it since then.

The sapphires in these earrings are believed to have come from the strap of a watch given to Princess Diana as a wedding present from the Crown Prince of Saudi Arabia, according to the Daily Mail. The Princess wore them as studs, and Middleton reinvented them with a drop-down style.

YouGov data surveyed over 4,000 Americans on whether they have a positive, negative, or neutral opinion of around 700 contemporary actors.

The arms trade is booming: The volume of international transfers of major weapons between 2013 and 2017 was 10% higher than between 2008 and 2012.

I’d seen the YouTube videos, hundreds of them probably, maybe a thousand if there are that many. But this was nothing like the videos.

On a lofty sheet of silence, like a UFO, it slid in from our left, our aircraft’s right as we faced rearward in the tanker bay. Only forty feet or so from me, 350 MPH, 22,000 feet above the earth. It was huge. And perfect.

My first memory as a child was of an airshow. The Thunderbirds. F-4 Phantoms. They were big and loud and smoky. The men wore crew cuts and precise fitting flight suits. They were just like the Apollo astronauts on black and white TV that Walter Cronkite talked about. One bent down and shook my hand, “You gonna be a pilot?” That was it for me.

I try to concentrate now, but it is difficult. This is my job. Camera set up to aperture priority, image stabilizer on, autofocus set correctly, aperture priority mode. ASA set to 500, shutter jumping around 1/1000th, f 5.6 to f 8. Hold the camera steady. Remember to compose- rule of thirds- watch the tail, don’t cut the tail off and ruin the shot. You can recompose in Photoshop, go a little wider on the zoom. Hold the camera steady, steady… Click, click, click, click, click…

I had done research for this shoot. A man named Stewart Jack, whom I’ve never met in person but friended on Facebook, sent me a solid tip on which lens to use for this shoot. Canon EF 28-300mm f/3.5-5.6L IS USM Lens. He responded to a post I threw up on the Aviation Photographers closed group page on Facebook. I mounted the lens on my EOS 7D MkII. Stewart’s recommendation was spot on. Composing shots was easy.

My first 60 photos were bad. I had a polarizer on and the window of the tanker bay in our KC-10 somehow produced a weird rainbow coloration that ruined the shots. I admit to panicking just a bit as I spun the filter off the front of the lens praying the plane in front of me would stay right where it was.

I heard the pilot through my headset make terse reports to the boom operator. He replied, “Thirty feet. Twenty…” The boom operator tucked the refueling boom over just slightly to let the plane’s canopy slide under us. He held two joy sticks to fly the boom. I had to be careful sitting next to him, his right hand was about a foot from my left arm, and there was a $100 million jet right below us, 30-40 feet away.

I am not a pilot. I can fly a plane, learned how once. Flew a Cessna, that doesn’t make me a pilot. Not like this. Like nothing else on earth, I love this. I understand the physics, the aerodynamics, the math, but even with that left-brain understanding of what I see in front of me now, my right-brain knows that this is magic, every Star Wars movie come real, science fiction in reality. Magic.

Before we took off I met the pilots of these two Lockheed Martin F-35A Lighting II Joint Strike Fighters. They looked like fine lads, clean cut, one rather quiet, the other well spoken. He had the rank. They wore patches- I collect patches- one said “466FS – SNAKES! IN THE HOUSE”. I want one of those. Their name tags had their callsigns. “Worm” and “Quatro”. They won’t tell us how they got their call signs. Afraid we’ll write about it.

They answered our questions, tough questions about what makes the F-35 Joint Strike Fighter so expensive. Taxpayers want to know. Their answers are good, and in less than a week several million people have read them across several media outlets.

But that is business.

It’s true I went to school for journalism. I’ve been to war zones, shadowed a hostage rescue team on a training mission. A week ago, I was diving in a school of sharks in the Exuma Islands, but this is beyond anything and it is a little hard to stay… journalistic. It is simply too amazing.

“Eagle, inbound.”

Another aircraft coming in. “He is out there. Was at about thirty miles. Closing now. Be here in a minute. Not sure where he is.” The boom operator tells me.

An F-15C Eagle, a predecessor to the F-35A we have in front of us now, is on his way to our tanker for gas. Another incredible photo op. About 60 seconds, we think, before he arrives.

For just a moment I need to take a deep breath, set my camera in my lap. Take this all in. Tidy up my gear. I wear pants made for me by a company called RailRiders. They have special two-way pockets so a photographer can put filters in and out easily while seated. They put my picture in their catalog, and I know the founder, so I am loyal to them. And the pants are actually pretty darn good. I tuck my polarizer into the right cargo pocket through the special zipper. The left pocket holds what I need to keep dust off my lens.

In front of me the F-35A hovers at 350 MPH.

The pilot looks nothing like either of the guys we met an hour ago. Head covered in checkered carbon fiber, life vest over his shoulders, seat harness. He does not wave, but I wish he would. His left hand holds the throttle, his right the control stick. Luke Skywalker. Darth Vader. The plane is rock steady plugged into the boom.

They each plug into the boom, then loiter behind us briefly for more photos.

And way too soon, it is over. I’m seated up front in the tanker now as we fly out over the Atlantic to take fuel ourselves from another tanker.

But before we reach the refueling track in the air over the Atlantic I toggle through a few of my photos looking at the back of my camera. It worked. I got good shots. Thank God.

And this is one story that, no matter how many tanker flights and media flights I do, I will never forget.

Below, I go into more detail about the features of the Carry-On that confirm Away's rising dominance in the travel industry:

The upper compartment is designed for shoes, toiletries, and other hard objects, and is impressively spacious.

Two stuffed toiletry bags, one hair straightener, and two pairs of shoes later, I was feeling relieved. These are usually the problem items since they're strangely shaped and take up a lot of space.

It made sense to separate them from my clothes because on a practical level, shoes are dirty and toiletry bags carry the risk of accidental spills. On a mental organization level, I now know that all my accessories are in one place, my clothes are in another, and I don't waste time digging through the creative (read: nonsensical) arrangements that I usually resort to just to get everything to fit. 

Meanwhile, the inner compartment, which is just as roomy, is designed for clothing. Dividing the two is a sturdy, lined layer for your electronics.

I was able to fit a 15-inch MacBook and my Kindle in the middle layer for safekeeping and easy access. It's lined with a hard border so it felt like my delicate and important devices were supported. 

Underneath, you can very easily fit enough clothes for a weekend trip. Some reviewers say they've been able to pack entire week's worth of clothes into this carry-on. I'd say four to five days of clothes is attainable for most travelers. 

If you want to be even more organized, you can get packing cubes to store similar items together and make space out of thin air.

As you can see above, packing my clothing into their appropriate cubes (pants and heavy outerwear into the larger one, tops into the medium one, and undergarments into the small one) created an extra gap of space where I could definitely squeeze in a few more things.

• Stress has an impact on both your physical and mental health.
• Health experts agree that reoccurring stress, getting sick easily, and stress that interferes with your everyday life are red flags that your stress is more serious than you might think.
• It is key to have healthy ways of coping with stress.

Stress sometimes feels like a given in today's go go go world, but there is a difference between run-of-the-mill stress and stress related to other, more serious conditions. Chronic stress has been linked to various health issues like depression, heart disease, and sleep problems, according to the Mayo Clinic.

That said, Amy Morin, author of "13 Things Mentally Strong People Don't Do," told INSIDER that although unmanaged stress doesn't automatically lead to other mental or physical ailments, it more specifically increases the risk of ending up with those ailments.

INSIDER spoke with Morin and other health experts about signs that mean your stress is more serious than you might think.

Your stress is reoccurring.

First, it's important to recognize if your stress is chronic (long-term) or acute (short-term).

Hymie Anisman, author of "An Introduction to Stress and Health" and professor at Carleton University, told INSIDER that chronic stress could lead to you running out of ways to copei, and a change in your chemical systems — both of which impact your health.

"When [chronic] stressors occur, behavioral coping systems become overwhelmed and biological systems basically have to take over the function of coping and dealing," Anisman said. "If we have a weak link in our system [...] then you might run into some health problems."

Dr. Nesochi Okeke-Igbokwe, a physician and health expert, said that these health problems could include a higher risk of heart disease, stroke, high blood pressure, and other conditions.

"Stress activates the stress response, which results in increased release of stress hormones like cortisol," she said. "When chronically exposed to some of these stress hormones, your health can really be compromised."

Your stress interferes with your daily life.

According to Morin, how you function under stress is a big indication of other health issues. For example, if your stress interferes with your daily functioning, that is often a sign of something more serious.

This could include having a tough time maintaining your job or your relationships. It might also mean you've lost interest in your usual activities or you have lingering sleep issues. In those cases, and if your stress persists, Morin suggests speaking with your doctor.

"Someone who feels a high level of stress may be irritable and angry more often, which can take a toll on relationships," Morin explained further. "Relationship tension can lead to more stress. The negative patterns created by unmanaged stress can be difficult to break."

You get sick easily.

Yes, stress is even related to the common cold. In fact, Morin and Okeke-Igbokwe both said that the more stressed you are, the weaker your immune system becomes, making it easier to get sick and making you more susceptible to various infections.

It doesn't help that people who are stressed often sleep poorly and might not have a healthy diet — both of which can also contribute to physical and mental illness, according to the Mayo Clinic.
