Steve Jobs may have been obsessed with making Macs super-simple to use — but some of the best Mac tips and tricks aren't always obvious to the everyday user.

From keyboard shortcuts to hidden tools, Macs are full of features that will help you work more quickly and easily.

So whether you're a Mac newbie or you're just coming back from a long Windows vacation, here are 24 handy, not-totally-obvious tricks to help you get the most out of your Mac.

Jeff Dunn contributed to an earlier version of this post.

1. The simplest and most common way to speed up your Mac usage is to take advantage of Spotlight.

Get there by hitting Command + Space, and you can quickly find files, open apps, search the web, and make system-wide searches.

2. You can also use Spotlight as a calculator, or have it make currency conversions.

3. If you ever lose your mouse in a sea of windows onscreen, just shake it — the cursor will automatically enlarge.

We compared the Apple Watch to the new $200 Fitbit Versa — and it isn't even close

Apple watch vs fitbit versa 4x3

  • Fitbit recently released its second smartwatch, called the Versa
  • We compared it with the latest Apple Watch to see which smartwatch is best.
  • The Versa is ultimately the best smartwatch you can buy today.
  • It tracks similar health metrics (calories burned, steps taken, heart rate), and unlike the Apple Watch, it is compatible with both Android and iOS devices.
  • The Versa also tracks sleep, which requires a third-party app to track on the Apple Watch.
  • Both smartwatches can receive notifications from first- and third-party apps, and the Apple Watch lets you respond to text messages directly from it (a similar feature is coming to the Versa for Android users soon.)
  • Multi-platform compatibility, better battery life, and a richer ecosystem for fitness fans tipped the scales heavily in the Versa's favor.
  • The Versa ($200) is also substantially less expensive than the latest Apple Watch (from $329), making it a much better overall value.

SEE ALSO: We compared the Surface Book 2 and the MacBook Pro — and it's clear which laptop you should get

DON'T MISS: We put Apple's iPhone X up against Google's Pixel 2 — and Apple’s phone is still king

Design: The Apple Watch has a nicer, more premium look and offers greater customizability, but the one-size-fits-all nature of the Fitbit Versa is also really appealing, so this round is a tie.

The Apple Watch and Fitbit Versa have a similar overall design, but there are a handful of key differences.

Apple uses an aluminum finish for its most basic watch, with a single-color fluoroelastomer (durable, synthetic rubber) band. The watch available in two sizes — 38mm and 42mm— to accommodate different wrist sizes; unfortunately the larger-sized watch is a fair bit more expensive. While the band that comes with the Apple Watch is fine, several third parties have designed cheap, alternative bands that you can swap on and off with ease.

The Fitbit Versa is also made out aluminum, and comes with two bands — one large, and one small — made out of "a flexible, durable material similar to that used in many sports watches." The reason there are two bands is that Fitbit took a slightly different design approach than Apple; instead of designing the same watch in different sizes at different prices, it stuck to one. The two included bands cover enough wrist sizes that the Versa should fit well right out of the box.

Winner: The Apple Watch has a nicer overall look and offers more customizability, but the one-size-fits-all nature of the Fitbit Versa is also really appealing, so this round is a tie.

Notifications: The Apple Watch and Fitbit Versa can both display notifications from your phone, but only the Fitbit works with both iPhones and Android phones.

If you have an iPhone, the Apple Watch's notification system is relatively straightforward and, in my experience, useful. Any notification you receive on an iPhone can be displayed on the Apple Watch (you can turn this off on a per-app basis), and you can respond to messages with simple, pre-written responses.

The Fitbit Versa works with both iPhones and Android phones, and it can display notifications for text messages, phone calls, calendar invites, and "your favorite apps."

While it's not live yet, Android users will eventually be able to respond to text messages through the Versa in the same way Apple users can with an Apple Watch — this feature will not be coming for iPhone.

Winner: Both the Fitbit Versa and Apple Watch can display notifications, and while responding to text messages is platform-specific, Fitbit wins this round since the Versa is compatible with both iOS and Android devices.

Fitness tracking: Both smartwatches track similar health metrics, but the Fitbit opens you up to a much larger community of fitness-focused people who aren't smartwatch users.

Fitness tracking is the number one reason to invest in a smartwatch, and both the Apple Watch and Fitbit Versa have this feature.

The Apple Watch tracks your steps taken, distance traveled, and heart rate and syncs these metrics to your iPhone's built-in Health and Activity apps. The Activity app lets you set and keep track of your daily movements and exercise goals, and challenge fellow Apple Watch owners to friendly fitness competitions. The Health app pulls in data from your Apple Watch and iPhone to help give you a broader picture of your health over time. Using third-party apps, you can also enable the Apple Watch to track other health metrics, like sleep.

The Fitbit Versa also tracks your steps taken, calories burned, sleep, and heart rate, but it keeps track of these metrics in its own multi-platform app. Fitbit's app is also where you can view your progress over time and challenge fellow Fitbit owners to competitions.

While the Apple Watch and Fitbit Versa both have this friendly competition feature, I'm going to argue that it's a lot more powerful on the Fitbit. That's because you can compete with people who have any Fitbit, not just the Versa, opening up your competition to more than just smartwatch owners.

Winner: The Fitbit Versa tracks similar fitness metrics as the Apple Watch, but it works on both iOS and Android platforms, and lets you stage fitness competitions with non-smartwatch owners.

The 50 best college majors for finding the highest-paying jobs after graduation

graduation commencement ceremony cap and gown diploma graduate

  • The best college majors for finding the highest-paying jobs after graduation tend to be in STEM fields: science, technology, engineering, and mathematics.
  • Engineering, in particular, is one of the highest-paying college majors after graduation.
  • 50 college majors have an early career salary of at least $60,000, and many have a mid-career pay over $100,000.

It's the time of the year when high school seniors are deciding where to attend college and university students are preparing for their own graduation.

With that in mind, let's take a look at one of the most important questions facing young people: Which college major to choose?

How much money you earn after graduation depends a lot on your major. While future salary should not be the only criteria when selecting a major, it can be an important one for college students to consider.

PayScale's College Salary Report breaks down how much graduates of every degree type get paid. The report used data from nonprofit and public schools and measured profiles of 2.3 million college graduates with full-time jobs in the US. PayScale's report included 489 bachelor's majors of college degrees. Salary figures are from June 2017.

These numbers only reflect students who graduated with a bachelor's degree in each field. Associate's, master's, and other degrees are not considered.

The lucrative STEM fields (science, technology, engineering, and mathematics) have plenty of representation on the list of highest-paying jobs after graduation. Engineering, in particular, is a college major that leads to strong future earning potential. All but two of the 20 highest-paying college degrees are some kind of study in engineering. Science, technology, and math majors are also present.

The 50 best college majors for the highest-paying jobs are listed in order of median salary early in their career, what PayScale considers zero to five years. The median pay at least 10 years after graduation, considered mid-career pay, is also included below.

There are some books that are just good reads, and then there are others that fundamentally change the course of American history.

Business Insider compiled a list of books — including novels, memoirs, nonfiction works, and photography collections — that led to policy changes or a larger awareness of political issues.

Here are a few literary works (organized by publication year) that moved the needle in powerful ways:

"Narrative of the Life of Frederick Douglass" by Frederick Douglass (1845)

One of the most famous autobiographies by a former slave, "Narrative of the Life of Frederick Douglass" documents Douglass' fight for his freedom and horrific abuse by slave-owners.

The book was not only important to the abolitionist movement in the US, but also in the Uk and Ireland, where Douglass delivered lectures and met with key anti-slavery figures.

"Uncle Tom's Cabin" by Harriet Beecher Stowe (1852)

An anti-slavery novel by author Harriet Beecher Stowe, "Uncle Tom's Cabin" tells the story of a slave in the 19th century who saves the life of a white woman named Eva. Her father purchases Tom, and from there, the novel depicts the brutal realities of slavery.

"Uncle Tom's Cabin" is widely credited with laying the groundwork for the American Civil War. At the same time, it contributed to the proliferation of harmful African-American stereotypes.

"How the Other Half Lives" by Jacob Riis (1890)

In the late 19th century, photographer Jacob Riis documented New Yorkers who lived in slums and squalid tenement buildings in "How the Other Half Lives." With his photos, he compiled graphic descriptions, sketches, statistics, that illustrated how low-income residents get by.

The photo collection inspired several reforms that improved conditions for the working poor, including the New York Tenement House Act and other legislation that set safety standards. It also served as a basis for future "muckraking" journalism.

21 companies that give stock pickers their best shot at crushing the market, according to Goldman Sachs

When stocks trade too similarly, it's tougher for stock pickers to profit from unique opportunities.

The average three-month stock correlation on the S&P 500, a gauge of how uniformly stocks on the index trade, jumped from 9% in January to 52% last week. That was the largest and fastest increase outside 1987, according to David Kostin, Goldman Sachs' chief US equity strategist.

But there's some good news for stock pickers: Kostin expects correlations to fall, as regulation on tech companies and other policy risks create more individualized opportunities.

"We expect correlations for these stocks would likely revert to historical averages and present potential buying opportunities given their underperformance since March," Kostin said.

The list below highlights 21 buy-rated stocks that Kostin says are more likely to have heightened responses to individual news and offer the best opportunities for stock pickers to beat their benchmarks.

"Consumer Discretionary and Health Care currently offer the best stock-picking opportunities," Kostin said.

The 15 richest US politicians in office

Trump

  • The richest politicians in the US are a mix of senators, House members, governors, and a president.
  • Aside from those who married into or inherited the majority of their wealth, most of these politicians made their mark by creating and running companies in a variety of industries, including software, health care services, private equity, corporate turnarounds, and worker training.
  • See below for a list of the 15 wealthiest US politicians as of April 2018.

Within the US, the 15 wealthiest politicians in office as of April 18, 2018, include one senator, five billionaires, six governors, seven House members — and a president.

Using data from Forbes' "The World's Billionaires: 2018 Ranking," which ranks the planet’s top 400 billionaires' wealth in real time; Roll Call’s "Wealth of Congress: Ranking the Net Worth of the 115th Congress;" and other sources, Business Insider put together a list of the 15 wealthiest US politicians now in office, at any level of government (i.e., local, state, or federal). This list excludes appointees, former politicians, and mega-donors.

It's interesting to note that four of the five billionaires on the list are governors. The Economist called the current Illinois governor's race a "yacht primary."

The contest, which has also been described as "billionaire vs. billionaire," pits J.B. Pritzker ($3.5 billion), the venture capitalist, Hyatt Hotel heir, and wealthiest  politician currently running for office, against Bruce Rauner ($1 billion – $2 billion), the incumbent Illinois governor who made his fortune in private equity.

Other wealthy politicians running for office this year include Senate candidate Phil Bredesen ($88.9 million – $358 million), as well as US Rep. Diane Black ($38 million), who recently gave up her role as House Budget Committee Chairman (but not her seat in Congress) to compete in Tennessee’s 2018 gubernatorial primary. And in Texas, health care executive Tahir Javed is competing to be a US Rep by financing his own campaign.

22 phrases Americans say that leave foreigners completely stumped

Whether they're related to food, football, or feline friends, American idioms can be colorful — and confusing to people visiting from abroad.

While phrases like "shoot the breeze" (to talk about unimportant things for a long time) and "cold turkey" (to abruptly withdraw from an addictive substance or behavior) have origins in US slang from centuries past, others such as "put up your dukes" (to hold your hands up to prepare for a fight) and "throw under a bus" (to betray someone for your own gain) can be traced across the pond.

Here are 22 phrases Americans say that leave foreigners completely stumped.

When a task is easy or straightforward, Americans will say it's a "piece of cake."

The phrase likely derives from a line in "The Primrose Path," a 1935 poetry collection by American humorist Ogden Nash: "Her picture's in the papers now, and life's a piece of cake."

When something is easy to understand, they might say "it's not rocket science."

This phrase, which gained popularity in the 1980s towards the end of the Cold War, refers to when something isn't that difficult to understand.

It has to do with the fact that the US was the first English-speaking country to establish a comprehensive program dedicated to the study of rocket science.

When Americans "shoot the breeze," they talk about unimportant things for a long time.

This phrase pertains to late-19th-century slang when "breeze" meant "rumor." By the 1910s, the windy word came to mean "empty chatter."

The 7 biggest questions we have after this week's 'Westworld' episode

Westworld Season 2

As always, we have questions about "Westworld," this time after watching the second episode of season two, called "Reunion.'

In the episode, we find out that William/The Man in Black is responsible for building something he calls his "greatest mistake," and Dolores claims she's looking for a weapon that could be what William is referring to.

We also learn a little more about the history of the characters on the show including Logan, who we see discover the technology of the hosts in the past.

Here are our biggest questions after watching 'Westworld' season 2, episode 2:

What is the meaning of the flashback with Arnold and Dolores?

Ford also makes an appearance in these flashbacks, but we're guessing that something Dolores remembers from these scenes will become important to the events in the present. We just don't know what that is right now.

Why did Logan Delos get targeted as an investor? Is he the only one who was?

Clearly Logan wasn't the actual target: that was his father, James Delos, who is reluctant about what his son invested so much money into. But William, who visited the park and was reluctant about it himself, attempts to convince James otherwise.

At this point, we can assume that Logan was targeted because he was more likely to invest than his dad. But was anyone else sought out as an investor in the park?

What is Delos doing with guest data and DNA?

We asked this last week, and we're asking again because we still don't have an answer. And we also just wanted to remind you that, yes, Delos is collecting guest data and DNA, and we don't know why.

Dolores white dress Westworld Season 2 photos 11

Warning: Spoilers ahead for Sunday's episode of "Westworld."

The newest episode of HBO's "Westworld" brought back several beloved characters from the first season, and introduced important new faces. From new revelations about the early days of Westworld to yet more modern music covered on the piano, we're here to break it all down.

Keep reading for a look at seven details you might have overlooked.

During the cold open flashback, we learn that Arnold's son Charlie was still alive when the park and hosts were first being built.

Previously, we only knew that Ford had described Arnold's life as being "marked by tragedy," but there was no specific context for when or how Charlie's death happened.

Thanks to the flashback, we have a stronger sense of the chronology within "Westworld." Charlie was alive when Arnold first built Dolores and the other hosts. The death of his son clearly affected Arnold's relationship to the hosts in a more tragic way than was previously understood.

See the full timeline with new revelations from the episode here.

As we see later in the episode, that opening scene took place just before Logan was pitched Westworld as an investment.

Seeing Angela and another host named Akecheta pitch the Westworld park to Logan was illuminating for several reasons. First, it put more events into sharper focus. We know now that Logan was making investments on his father's company's behalf, and Westworld was one of them.

Again, you can see the events laid out chronologically in our timeline here.

The "private demonstration" was also a special look at the original set of hosts Arnold built.

We learned in the first season that only 37 hosts still in the park during present day on the show were built by Arnold.

Dolores, Teddy, Angela, Armistice, and Peter Abernathy are all part of that original set. And the flashback showed more important hosts belonging to that first generation, including Clementine.

Dolores playing piano Westworld season two episode two

During its freshman season, HBO's "Westworld" cemented the use of a player piano as one of many iconic features in its ambitious sci-fi/western drama series. Co-creators Jonathan Nolan and Lisa Joy worked with composer Ramin Djawadi to embed anachronistic musical cues into the (mostly) Western setting via the player piano and other soundtrack choices.

Whether you're looking for the name of a song used, or want to better understand the show's musical themes, keep reading for a look at every song featured on "Westworld."

We'll update this guide each week. As of now, this article contains spoilers for events through season two, episode two.

"Black Hole Sun" by Soundgarden

The show's first use of a modern song on the player piano happens a little over halfway through the pilot episode. As Maeve is closing up the Marisposa and just before Kissy is taken by William, "Black Hole Sun" plays on the piano.

"Paint it Black" by The Rolling Stones

During our first introduction to Hector, Armistice, and their crew of bandit hosts, composer Ramin Djawadi's piano-based cover of "Paint it Black" plays.

"No Surprises" by Radiohead

Maeve begins experiencing small malfunctions as she tries seducing customers in the Mariposa saloon. Radiohead's "No Surprises" plays in the background of two key encounters.

Teddy WestworldWarning: Huge spoilers for "Westworld" season two. If you aren't caught up on the series, read at your own risk.

The second episode of the second season of "Westworld" premiered tonight, and we have even more questions than we had after last week's season premiere.

This episode, titled "Reunion," is much more action-packed than last week's. The episode focuses on reunions, as its title suggests: both for characters within the show and for the viewers.

In typical "Westworld" fashion, "Reunion" makes multiple shifts in time that we're not quite sure how to process. But we try!

Here's our recap of the the season 2, episode 2 of "Westworld":

SEE ALSO: The 16 best moments in Marvel Cinematic Universe history, ranked

The episode is in the real world and Arnold is with Dolores.

Anthony Hopkins makes an appearance, Arnold tells Ford that Dolores is not ready, and Ford suggests that he’s too attached to her.

Arnold shows Dolores a house that’s under construction for his family.

In another scene, likely set some time after the first scene in the episode, Dolores is playing piano at what appears to be the retirement party of a sick James Delos, Logan's father. William is there, and so is Logan. Dolores sees Logan seeming to shoot up heroin in his arm.

Teddy finds out what he is.

“Why can’t I remember this?” Teddy asks Dolores after she shows him that he is programmed and not even a human being. He is shocked.

Logan discovers the wonders of Westworld’s technology

Logan Delos is approached by Westworld hosts, though he has no idea they're not real people. He has a private presentation that is actually just a private party. When he realizes that everyone around him isn't a real person, his mind is blown, and he's sold immediately. This is fair, since it is an impressive presentation of quite advanced technology.

GOLDMAN SACHS: These 14 companies are set to return the most cash to investors this year

  • In times of market turbulence, it can be helpful for investors to pinpoint stocks that will offer reliable cash distributions.
  • Goldman Sachs has identified the 14 S&P 500 companies poised to return the most cash to shareholders via buybacks and dividends.

For investors uncertain about the future of the market, it can be comforting — if not downright lucrative — to seek out companies that can be counted upon for regular cash payouts.

That means firms offering both dividends and buybacks, and there's serious value in knowing which ones are the most likely to engage in either activity.

That's where Goldman Sachs comes in.

The firm maintains an index of S&P 500 companies spanning nine sectors that have offered the highest yield from share repurchases and dividend payments over the past 12 months.

It's worth noting, however, that while investing in companies for their cash distributions is a relatively risk-averse way to grind out returns, it's not necessarily a strategy that will keep pace with the broader market. It can actually struggle in a rising-interest-rate environment as bond yields get more competitive, says Goldman.

Still, knowing which companies fall into the high-cash-return category can be valuable when constructing a portfolio. So without further ado, here are the 14 companies best positioned to return the most money to shareholders going forward:

China is rising.

There are few segments of the global economy where this is more evident than the auto industry. For more car makers, China is the most important market in the world. The Middle Kingdom's new-found wealth and 1.5 billion strong population have helped create a booming car market. Not even economic uncertainty, environmental challenges, and overburdened infrastructure can put a damper on this party.

This is why the Beijing Auto Show will serve as the capstone to the 2017-2018 auto show season.

Beijing 2018 will feature a solid mix of futuristic concepts and daily drivers from a variety of brands like BMW, Buick, Infiniti, Lexus, Mercedes-Benz, Maybach, Nissan, Volkswagen, Volvo, and Polestar. Electric vehicles will be out in force in light of China's new focus on non-internal combustion mobility.

The 2018 Beijing Auto Show will be open to the public from April 29 to May 4 at the China International Exhibition Center.

How Goldman Sachs, UBS, and more reacted to Walmart's $10 billion 'Black Swan' deal to sell Asda

$

Mike Coupe_Judith McKenna_Roger Burnley

LONDON — UK supermarket Sainsbury's on Monday confirmed a surprise deal to buy rival Asda from Walmart in a $10 billion (£7.3 billion) transaction.

Sainsbury's will pay Walmart £2.9 billion ($3.9 billion) in cash and give the retail giant 42% of shares of the combined business under the terms of the deal, valuing Asda at $10 billion (£7.3 billion).

The merger has taken the City largely by surprise. Analysts at Barclays dubbed it a "black swan" deal on Monday, referencing finance professor Nassim Nicholas Taleb theory of unexpected and difficult to predict events in markets.

While the transaction may not have been predicted, analysts have been quick to dissect the terms of the deal and what they mean for participants and the wider market.

Most analysis focuses on the trouble the deal could face with UK competition regulators, what the merger means for Walmart, and how it would affect the UK grocery market.

Here's what Goldman Sachs, UBS, Barclays and more are saying:

Goldman Sachs: 'We estimate Asda represents 6% of Walmart's global revenue'

Goldman Sachs analyst Rob Joyce and team:"We estimate Asda represents 6% and 5% of WMT’s global revenue and EBITDA (FY18), respectively, and 23% of its international revenue. We estimate that Asda is the largest piece of WMT’s international portfolio outside of the Americas, and its third largest overall, behind Mexico and Canada.

"We note that though Asda accounts are not presented, Sainsbury states that Asda EBIT
for FY17 fell to approximately £720 mn from £845 mn (-15%)."

UBS: 'It's hard to paint this as anything other than positive'

UBS analyst Daniel Ekstein:"It's hard to paint this as anything other than positive for shoppers (lower prices, better ranges, more flexible options) and the deal terms look attractive for shareholders too. The proposed merger is expected to generate net synergies of £500m/annum, after having made 'significant price investment' across the combined business (management references c.10% price cuts on KVI's).

"Food retail is a scale industry, where size drives efficiency across the value chain. Market share of the pro-forma combined entity would double to c.31%, leapfrogging current leader Tesco at c.28%. Purchase price alignment accounts for £350m of the total synergies, whilst Argos concessions in Asda underpin £75m and reduced opex a further £75m."

Bernstein: 'The price of bad execution is huge'

Bernstein's Bruno Monteyne and Brandon Fletcher:"There is lots of talk of the "CMA since Tesco/Booker" assuming that something changed in the way the CMA looks at such deals. We dispute that: the CMA took the only possible conclusion in line with its remit. Therefore local competition, within 10 to 15 minutes' drive time, remains the key driver of store disposals. We think the potential gamble will depend on how the CMA treats discounter stores. In the past they were largely excluded (as being too small and therefore not a comparable one-stop shop).

"57% of Asda stores have large SBRY store within 12.5 mins drive time, leading to ~15% of store disposals. If they can convince CMA to include discounters, then it could be ~8%. This is a bold gamble. This deal could easily unravel acrimoniously if the CMA sticks to its old rules and parameters. At 13% store disposals, the deal would stop being accretive.

"The price of bad execution is huge. Morrisons-Safeway lost 28% of their sales through a combination of store disposals (9%), integration problems and culture clash. Cultures and retail propositions at SBRY & Asda are very different and therefore the execution risk seems much higher than the smooth Ahold-Delhaize merger."

  • Adolf Hitler died by suicide on April 30, 1945.
  • Newspapers around the world reacted to reports of Hitler's death with bold, full-page headlines, and in some cases, cheery delight.
  • "Germans put out the news everyone hopes is true," one newspaper wrote.

Exactly 73 years ago, on April 30, 1945, Adolf Hitler committed suicide in a bunker in Berlin, bringing to an end the life of one of history's most notorious figures.

News of Hitler's demise was slow to reach the United States, and the reports that did reach across the Atlantic were initially met with skepticism. Most American newspapers didn't run the news until May 2 — a full two days later — and even then, President Harry Truman was cautious in confirming the reports at a press conference.

Still, Hitler's death signaled the final nail in the coffin for the Axis Powers in World War II. Less than a week after the news broke, German forces unconditionally surrendered in Europe, and by September the war had officially ended.

Newspapers around the world announced Hitler's death with bold, full-page headlines and in some cases, cheery delight. "Germans put out the news everyone hopes is true," the United Kingdom's Daily Express wrote. "Will rant no more," said Boston's Daily Record.

Read on to see how newspapers covered the news in 1945.

Here's what The New York Times looked like on May 2, 1945

According to the Times report from the UK's House of Commons, "there was an almost complete lack of excitement here. Those who believed the report seemed to accept it as a matter of course that Hitler would die. There was no official reaction."

The Times also included an interesting note about how the news disseminated in the UK: "London newspapers received the announcement of Hitler's death just as the early editions were going to press but the second editions went 'all-out' on the news, with long obituaries of Hitler and biographical sketches of Doenitz," it wrote.

One of the biggest headlines of all came from Stars and Stripes, a publication of the US military

"Churchill hints peace is at hand," the military paper said.

The New York Daily News devoted the entire front page to the striking headline 'HITLER DEAD'

The Daily News wrote years later: "Knowing that the end was near, Hitler moved into his bunker by January of 1945 and decided to kill himself before anyone else could by April."

The 11 biggest 'Infinity War' questions that 'Avengers 4' must answer

Spoiler warning: Don't read if you have not seen "Avengers: Infinity War."

"Avengers: Infinity War" is finally here, and it's a satisfying crossover event for the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

But it also leaves many things dangling that audiences will want addressed.

It is very much the first part of a two-part story, and moviegoers will have to wait until next year for answers, when the fourth "Avengers" movie comes to theaters. It was filmed back to back with "Infinity War" and was originally titled "Infinity War — Part 2."

In the meantime, we have questions.

There's definitely something going on with the Hulk, and Doctor Strange has a plan. And how about that surprise return of a character long thought dead?

Below are the 11 biggest questions we have after watching "Infinity War" that "Avengers 4" has to answer:

SEE ALSO: The 'Avengers: Infinity War' ending is devastating — but the comic it's based on provides a glimmer of hope

Why can't Bruce Banner turn into the Hulk?

Remember this epic shot from the first "Infinity War" trailer? It's not in the movie! In fact, the Hulk, featured prominently running with the other Avengers in the scene, only appears at the beginning of the film. At some point, directors Joe and Anthony Russo decided that they didn't want Bruce Banner to Hulk-out during the battle in Wakanda. Throughout the movie, Banner  has trouble unleashing the beast, and the Hulk repeatedly shouts "No!" in his head mid-transformation. There's something going on with Banner/the Hulk and it's something we hope is explored in "Avengers 4."

Will the Red Skull return (again)?

One of the film's biggest surprises is the return of the Red Skull, who was the villain way back in 2011's "Captain America: The First Avenger." In that movie, we thought Skull was disintegrated from touching one of the Infinity Stones, but it appears he was just transferred to another planet — the planet where Thanos retrieves the Soul Stone. Will we see more of Red Skull in the next "Avengers" movie, or future MCU movies for that matter?

How will Captain Marvel play into the story?

Next March, before "Avengers 4" is released, "Captain Marvel" starring Brie Larson comes to theaters. The "Infinity War" after-credits scene teases the character's arrival, so we assume "Captain Marvel" will get involved in the events following "Infinity War" (even though her solo movie takes place in the 1990s). It's apparent that Captain Marvel will be integral to saving humanity and stopping Thanos in "Avengers 4," but we have no idea how yet.

The US government clearly defines the Northeast, Midwest, South, and West — here's where your state falls

  • The United States is home to many different regions and subregions, and there's plenty of debate over which region certain states fall in.
  • The US Census Bureau has used the same regional definitions since 1950.
  • The bureau divides the US into four regions — Northeast, Midwest, South, and West — and nine subregions.

The United States is home to several different regions and subregions, each with its own unique history and culture.

But it's not always clear where one region ends and another begins. There's no consensus on whether the Dakotas are part of the Midwest, for example, or if Arkansas belongs to the South.

Luckily, we have the US Census Bureau, which has classified American regional divisions for more than 100 years. Since the 1950 Census, the bureau has used the same arrangement of four main regions and nine subregions. The only changes happened in 1960, when the newly-admitted Alaska and Hawaii joined the Pacific region, and in 1984, when the North Central region was renamed the Midwest.

Take a look at how the Census groups the 50 states — and decide whether you agree with where your state ended up.

What it takes to become a flight attendant in South Korea, where it's so competitive that candidates are getting plastic surgery to improve their odds

  • South Korea's youth unemployment is nearing "catastrophic" levels, a Korean finance minister said in March.
  • To secure a job, many young people in South Korea feel that their application, which must include a photo ID, has to be perfect.
  • Being a flight attendants is an especially enviable job in South Korea with plenty of competition. As a result, many aspiring flight attendants are turning to plastic surgery to increase their odds of securing the job.
  • Some plastic surgery clinics in South Korea are even making special packages for aspiring flight attendants, encouraging those women to slim their faces, widen their eyes, and upturn their mouths.

It was only 1993 when United flight attendants reported that they were fasting, purging, and taking laxatives to keep their figure — and their jobs. If the crew members weighed more than 11 pounds over the maximum, they would receive 10 days of unpaid temporary leave, the Chicago Tribune reported at the time.

Such rules have since been softened or outright banned in much of the world. But flight attendant hopefuls in South Korea still report significant pressure to look a certain way — and it's leading them to take drastic measures.

Leading Korean airlines in South Korea like Asiana Airlines and Korean Air dropped their height stipulation and softened their language requirements for aspiring flight attendants in 2015, local media reported.

But in practice, thanks to a combination of factors including the job application process and Korean standards of beauty, flight attendant hopefuls have reported feeling pressured by an unspoken requirement "to be more beautiful,"The Korea Herald reported.

"The flight attendants are actually the representative of the airline," Sojin Lim, a 25-year-old Seoul resident who worked for a domestic Korean airline, told Business Insider. "How they look will affect the image of it, so they have to always look formal and neat."
