President Donald Trump is embarking on a four-day visit to the United Kingdom this week, during which he's slated to meet with various leaders in England and Scotland, including Queen Elizabeth II.

Trump's trip is the latest installment of the "special relationship" the US and UK share, which has been a decades-long diplomatic and political bond.

Take a look back at every time American presidents met British royals:

This startup makes sofas that sound almost too good to be true — they’re easy to move and only take 10 minutes to build

  • Moving and assembling furniture is a major pain that everyone has gone through and no one enjoys.
  • Burrow makes mid-range priced, quality sofas that can be set up in a fraction of the time it usually takes.
  • The sofas are simple but customizable, and even come with convenient outlets and USB ports.

Raise your hand if you like moving. If you're raising your hand, you are probably lying to yourself. You think you like your couch now, but when you have to lug it up and down too many flights of stairs (because the fifth floor walkup is totally worth the cheaper rent), and reassembling it takes an hour, an army of support, and a literal pool of sweat and tears, you might reconsider how much you're really lovin' that couch.

For young adults transitioning through college and post-grad life, finding and keeping quality furniture is easier said than done. At the end of every academic year, you can look at any campus "For Sale" group online and you'll see hordes of students putting their furniture up for sale and hoping they can make even a fraction of their money back.

Direct-to-consumer start-up Burrow aims to change this relentless cycle by offering mid-range priced, quality sofas that can be set up in under 10 minutes, no tools necessary.

The Y-Combinator-backed company came out of founders Stephen Kuhl and Kabeer Chopra's own struggles with the complications of sofa buying, shipping, and assembly. Their business model and solution to a common problem have clearly resonated. Burrow delivered its first luxury couch within just 12 weeks of coming up with the original business idea in 2016, and crossed $1 million in sales within its first six months.

Here's how Burrow is changing the way you buy your sofa:

SEE ALSO: The 10 best purchases I've made to save space in my small apartment

The sofa features a simple mid-century design, but is also customizable to your tastes and needs.

You can choose the fabric color, armrest height, and number of seats. However you combine the options, you'll end up with a versatile couch that you can carry with you throughout your life.

  • Four seat number options
  • Two arm options: Low or High
  • Five color options: Beige, Brick Red, Crushed Gravel, Navy Blue, and Charcoal

The pricing is on par with that of similar sofas you would find at West Elm or Wayfair.

While it may be more expensive than something you would get at IKEA, unlike an IKEA product, a Burrow sofa is easier than assemble and one that you'll actually keep. Here are the prices:

  • 1 seat: $495
  • 2 seat: $845
  • 3 seat: $1,195
  • 4 seat: $1,545

Shipping and assembly is easy.

Shipping is free, the sofa ships in two to five business days, and you don't need to be home to sign for the package.

The sofa arrives in lightweight boxes. Each seat is contained in its own box, and the arms are contained in another box. The assembly process consists of nine steps, is tool-free, and should take 10 minutes or less.

The nice thing is that you have the flexibility to make your sofa smaller or larger by simply removing or adding additional seat modules.

LeBron James reportedly spends $1.5 million to take care of his body — here's where it goes

lebron james

In his 15th season, at 33 years old, LeBron James played all 82 games for the first time in his career, then went through a 22-game playoff haul.

Of all of the accomplishments of James' career, his longevity might be the most impressive.

James is one of the most physically dominant players in the league, but it doesn't all come naturally. According to reports, James spends seven figures per year, with one report saying $1.5 million, to take care of his body. That covers costs from his home gym, his trainers, masseuses, chefs, appliances, and more.

It's all worth it for James, who shows no signs of slowing down any time soon.

Here's how he spends his money to keep in tip-top shape.

LeBron James reportedly spends seven-figures per year on his body. Malcolm Gladwell once told Bill Simmons that in a conversation with James' business partner Maverick Carter, Carter said that cost is $1.5 million.

Sources: ESPN, Bill Simmons

Former teammate Mike Miller said James treats his body like an investment.

Miller said, via Bleacher Report:

"Where a lot of people don't do it, he puts a lot of money behind taking care of his body. A lot of people think it’s a big expense, but that big expense has allowed him to make a lot more money for a long period of time."

James has a whole team of people that work with him, from trainers to masseuses to chefs.

According to ESPN, when James was having back problems in 2015, he reached out to David Alexander, a trainer he worked with in Miami. Alexander pointed James to Donnie Raimon, a former Navy SEAL and an expert in biomechanics.

Raimon helped James work on his core strength, eventually fixing his back problems. James eventually hired Raimon full time and Raimon moved to Akron to be close to James.

This sleek $225 carry-on suitcase can charge your phone and only weighs 7 pounds — and it's just what modern travelers need

away carry on main

  • Away is the direct-to-consumer luggage company that everyone is watching.
  • Having talked to tons of travelers about their most common traveling woes, the founders of Away created suitcases that not only solved these modern inconveniences, but also look good while doing so.
  • I tried the Carry-On ($225), and I loved its compartments that could fit a lot more than you think they would, its built-in lock and battery, and its variety of customizable options.

I've used the same carry-on suitcase for nearly 15 years. Aside from its durability, there's no reason other than pure emotional attachment that I still carry it today(it was the suitcase I brought for my first ever plane ride in elementary school).

A "traditional" fabric suitcase with an exterior zippered pocket, a single interior compartment with buckled straps, and an interior mesh pocket, it was neither light nor easy to pack. I was long overdue for a new carry-on, and in the end, I found a worthy replacement for this travel companion of the early 2000s in Away's Carry-On

Away, a direct-to-consumer startup led by retail mavens Steph Korey and Jen Rubio, makes the "it" suitcase that many travelers love and even more travelers want. It takes all of our most important concerns about moving our belongings from Point A to Point B into consideration: ease of transport, durability, organizing ability, security, and reliability.

away carry on final

When you're not rearranging your suitcase for the fifth time or using too much energy to drag  it around and lift it into the overhead compartment, traveling becomes infinitely less stressful. Through its newer offerings like limited-time colors and collaborations, packing cubes, and leather sticker accessories, Away even manages to make packing and carrying a suitcase downright enjoyable.

Its suitcases, which are available in four sizes, feature a strong yet light outer shell, 360° rotating wheels, interior compartments designed to help you pack smarter, a built-in charger, and more. Starting at $225, they cost less than name brands of comparable quality, with the added plus of coming with a lifetime warranty.

The mere seven-pound Carry-On in particular is a good buy for travelers who embark on frequent, shorter trips and want a smart solution.

Below, I go into more detail about the features of the Carry-On that confirm Away's rising dominance in the travel industry:

The upper compartment is designed for shoes, toiletries, and other hard objects, and is impressively spacious.

Two stuffed toiletry bags, one hair straightener, and two pairs of shoes later, I was feeling relieved. These are usually the problem items since they're strangely shaped and take up a lot of space.

It made sense to separate them from my clothes because on a practical level, shoes are dirty and toiletry bags carry the risk of accidental spills. On a mental organization level, I now know that all my accessories are in one place, my clothes are in another, and I don't waste time digging through the creative (read: nonsensical) arrangements that I usually resort to just to get everything to fit.

Meanwhile, the inner compartment, which is just as roomy, is designed for clothing. Dividing the two is a sturdy, lined layer for your electronics.

I was able to fit a 15-inch MacBook and my Kindle in the middle layer for safekeeping and easy access. It's lined with a hard border so it felt like my delicate and important devices were supported.

Underneath, you can very easily fit enough clothes for a weekend trip. Some reviewers say they've been able to pack entire week's worth of clothes into this carry-on. I'd say four to five days of clothes is attainable for most travelers.

If you want to be even more organized, you can get packing cubes to store similar items together and make space out of thin air.

As you can see above, packing my clothing into their appropriate cubes (pants and heavy outerwear into the larger one, tops into the medium one, and undergarments into the small one) created an extra gap of space where I could definitely squeeze in a few more things.

Away's Insider Packing Cubes are made from leather and waterproof nylon, with a mesh panel that allows you to see the contents at a glance. The different sizes are available individually or in a set of four or six.

chrome vs firefox 2x1

It's conventional wisdom that Google's Chrome web browser is often the culprit when your computer slows down.

Chrome is often known as a "memory hog," as it seems to always consume a big chunk of your computer's RAM. That can often lead to a pretty noticeable performance drop, even on high-end powerhouse PCs.

A quick RAM recap: It's your computer's short-term memory, where it keeps tabs on apps that you're using. In Chrome, more more open tabs and extensions means more RAM usage, which in turn means a hit to performance.

As recently as November 2017, Mozilla has emerged as a beacon of hope for web users, with a claim that its latest version of the Firefox web browser uses 30% less RAM than Chrome, at least on Windows. In theory, that means Firefox users should be able to run 30% more open tabs and extensions than Chrome before their computers slow down.

However, from my experience on both a Mac and Windows 10 machine, Firefox actually uses more RAM than Chrome, meaning it takes fewer tabs and windows before it starts digging into your performance. Mozilla says that it all comes down to your computer and your configuration.

"The dominant factors that are going to get different results have very much to do with whether it's Windows vs Mac. Certainly, we perform a lot better on Windows. And certainly hardware characteristics and that certain thing all comes into play to affect the outcome," Firefox Product Manager Peter Dolanjski, tells Business Insider.

To be fair, this might not be the case for everyone, so it's worth checking for yourself to see whether Firefox or Chrome uses up more RAM for your daily workflow.

Here's a semi-scientific method to see if Chrome or Firefox has higher performance on your machine, on both Mac and Windows 10:

SEE ALSO: I compared Google's Chrome browser with its No. 1 competitor — and the winner was clear

For Mac users: (Keep reading for Windows 10)

1. Download and install Firefox.

2. Go into a Guest Account on your Mac. See below for instructions.

This step is important — the Guest Account is as close as you can get to having a brand-new Mac with nothing installed on it. It means that when you open up Chrome or Firefox, no other extensions or default homepages will load, meaning you get the "pure" experience. You'll need that for your testing purposes.

1. Click the Apple logo on the top left of your screen.

2. Click Log Out.

3. In the login screen, click Guest.

14 'diet' foods that seem healthy but actually aren’t

$

soda straw drink

It's easy to fall victim to marketing slogans that use words like "diet,""lean," and "low-fat." These words, however, are often just masking an unhealthy treat. A product can be low-fat and still high in sugar and sodium. It's important to keep this in mind when deciding how to pursue your diet goals.

Here are 14 foods you think are diet-friendly, but aren't.

“Low-fat” products are usually packed with sugar to boost their flavor.

As anyone who cooks can tell you, fat carries the flavor. That’s part of the reason why full-fat pastries and baked goods taste so delicious.

When you take fat out of something that normally has it, you have to use something else to fill the flavor void you’ve just created. Enter sugar — which, in addition to adding sweetness, also enhances the flavors of other ingredients in a food or drink.

Both sugar and fat can trick your brain into demanding more food than you actually need, according to Scientific American, which is a problem.

Some margarine formulas aren't healthy.

Simply saying "oh, fat is bad for you" is a gross oversimplification — many mono- and polyunsaturated fats found in nature are actually quite good for you, according to Health.com. Some older kinds of margarine, however, were formulated with higher levels of trans fats than butter, according to Harvard University— which meant that they could actually lower your HDL (good) cholesterol while at the same time raising your LDL (bad) cholesterol.

Times have changed, and so have many margarine formulas — some of which no longer have those exceedingly unhealthy trans fats.

All humans need a certain amount of fat in their diet to stay healthy so sometimes butter is a better choice than margarine. The key comes in limiting our fat intake to what we need — and also paying attention to what types of fat are involved. We need to limit our saturated fat intake — and avoid trans fats as much as possible.

Rice cakes are basically crunchy calories that offer neither nutrition nor satisfaction.

Rice cakes are crunchy — and some even have decent-enough flavors. They’re usually also fat-free, which is their big selling point.

Unfortunately, they’re also made of refined grains, according to Best Health magazine, and usually full of flavorings that are heavy on sugar, sodium or a combination of the two. You could do a lot better in the snack department.

10 phone habits that are ruining your productivity

$

smartphone

  • The smartphone has given us instantaneous connection, access to limitless information, and can help keep our lives in order.
  • However, spending too much time on social media, constantly receiving notifications, and sleeping near your smartphone could be hurting your productivity more than you think.
  • Here are 10 smartphone habits that are ruining your productivity, according to experts.

It's hard to imagine a time where our phones weren't permanently attached to our hands. Many of us take these miniature computers pretty much everywhere and rely heavily on them for day-to-day tasks. But with so much opportunity to explore the internet and stay connected to loved ones 24/7, it's easy to get distracted, resulting in a loss of productivity.

"Productivity is often at its apex during a flow state," when a person is fully immersed in an activity, NYC-based psychotherapist Jordana Jacobs told Business Insider.

According to Jacobs, while phones are great for the technology they provide, they also feed into our natural distracted state. Cell phones take us out of the flow state, "which is so fundamental to productivity," she said. "Essentially, we are consistently interrupting our own thought process," she said. To put it simply, our phones "take us away from 'the now,'" she said.

It's probably not plausible for you to get rid of your phone completely, but you can still take steps to keep it from getting in the way of your goals.

The first step to being more productive is identifying all the ways our phones keep us from staying focused. Jacobs andJonathan Alpert, psychotherapist and author of "Be Fearless: Change Your Life in 28 Days," broke down the phone habits are ruining our productivity:

SEE ALSO: 12 ways your smartphone is making your life worse

1. Reading, answering, and deleting emails

According to Jacobs, smartphones take us out of being in the present. When we're constantly checking those work and personal emails, she said it puts us in the mindset of, "I'm doing this rather than just being where I am now."

Mindlessly checking email can easily take us out of the flow state productivity requires.

2. Taking pictures

One of the perks of today's smartphones is that they double as high-quality cameras.

While it's great to want to take a picture here and there to have a keepsake of a particular moment, Jacobs said that playing paparazzi in our own lives is another way of taking us from living in the now.

3. Checking social media

Social media can feed our obsession with other people's lives, but Jacobs said it's also a platform for us to brag to our followers about what we are doing or have done.

She said that by constantly checking social media, we become obsessed with what everyone else is doing and with showing everyone else what we're doing at the expense of the actual task in front of us.

Former President Barack Obama is making his first trip to Africa since he left the White House last year. So, his annual summer reading list, which he posted on Facebook, is focusing on African literature.

"Kenya, of course, is the Obama ancestral home," he wrote in the July 13 post. "I visited for the first time when I was in my twenties and I was profoundly influenced by my experiences – a journey I wrote about in my first book, Dreams from My Father."

Along with these six new recommendations, we also included the 11 books that Obama praised in a conversation in 2017 with Michiko Kakutani, the chief book critic for the New York Times.

Here's what the former president said you ought to read this summer:

"A true classic of world literature, this novel paints a picture of traditional society wrestling with the arrival of foreign influence, from Christian missionaries to British colonialism. A masterpiece that has inspired generations of writers in Nigeria, across Africa, and around the world."

6 reasons you should buy an iPhone SE instead of the iPhone X

$
0
0

Apple's latest iPhone looks incredible, is faster than ever, and ... is outrageously expensive.

The base model costs $1,000. One thousand dollars!

iPhone X

But there's good news, friends: There's a far better iPhone out there, and it costs less than half the price of the absurdly priced iPhone X. That phone is the iPhone SE — Apple's best iPhone.

Here's why you should consider the iPhone SE instead of the iPhone X:

SEE ALSO: 9 reasons you should buy an iPhone 7 instead of the iPhone X

1. The iPhone SE is remarkably affordable, at just $350 to start.

Millions of people have already dropped a full stack for the iPhone X. It's more than just a phone — it's a status symbol. I get it. It's a much more affordable version of a Ferrari. Fine. But I'm a Honda Civic kinda guy.

I want something affordable, powerful enough, and long-lasting. I'm not trying to impress anyone, nor am I the kind of person who lives on the bleeding edge of tech gadgets. That's why I was excited to see that, alongside the announcement of the iPhone X last year, Apple quietly made the iPhone SE $50 less expensive.

At $350 to start, with 32 GB of storage and the internals of an iPhone 6S, the iPhone SE is the perfect Honda Civic of smartphones.

2. The iPhone SE is shockingly powerful.

The chip that powers the iPhone SE also powers the iPhone 6S and the most recent iPad. It's called the Apple A9, and it's more horsepower than you need in a smartphone — Apple calls it "the most powerful 4‑inch phone ever," specifically because of that chip.

More than just a zippy device, the A9 powers 4K video recording, high-definition games, and pretty much everything else you want to do with your iPhone. Most importantly, the A9 makes the iPhone SE feel like a modern phone in terms of everyday use.

3. Like other iPhones and prominent Android phones, it has a killer camera.

The iPhone SE doesn't have optical image stabilization or wide-color capture like the newer iPhones, so it won't perform as well in low light, and videos won't be as smooth. But don't worry: Everything from 4K video to HDR photos is built into the iPhone SE.

And yes, you can take "live photos" on the iPhone SE, just as you would on any other recent iPhone.

Most importantly, though, you can snap crisp, beautifully detailed photos using the iPhone SE's 12-megapixel rear camera — its aperture is slightly different from the newer phones, but the camera's the same as the iPhone 7, the iPhone 8 lines, and the iPhone X. Like the A9 chip at the heart of the iPhone SE, the camera on the iPhone 6S is built into the iPhone SE.

France 1998

On Sunday, when France goes for international soccer glory against Croatia in the World Cup final, they will do so nearly 20 years to the day from when the country first won a World Cup.

France, playing on home soil, was an extraordinary collection of talent, boasting one of the greatest attacking midfielders in the game's history in Zinedine Zidane, stout defenders like Marcel Desailly, and future superstars such as Thierry Henry.

Many of these players would also go on to further international glory, winning the European Championship two years later. There is even a direct connection to the current France squad, as 1998 team's captain, Didier Deschamps, is the current France manager. So now is the perfect time to go back and look at that incredible squad, and see where they have gone since then.

Zinedine Zidane was an attacking midfielder for Juventus and the talisman of the French team. He scored two goals in the Final, and also scored in the penalty kick shootout against Italy in the quarter-finals.

Zinedine continued his remarkable career with Juventus, and later Real Madrid. He later went into coaching and eventually became the manager of Real Madrid, whom he led to three straight Champions League wins before abruptly stepping down this summer.

Didier Deschamps was a defensive midfielder for Juventus and the France captain.

11 little-known store policies that can save you a ton of money

  • Stores like Target and Whole Foods have little-known policies in place that could save you a decent amount of money.
  • Best Buy's trade-in program offers store credit for some old electronics.
  • Ask a Trader Joe's employee to let you taste something before you buy it.

These little-known perks will change the way you shop.

ALDI: More than just your money back

If you get home from ALDI only to realize one of its private-labeled items is moldy, you’re actually sort of in luck. The grocery store’s “Double Guarantee” promises not only to refund your money, but also to give you a replacement product to make up for it. Just don’t assume every return will qualify; employees report it doesn’t apply when you decide you just don’t like the taste.

Athleta: Return after wearing

You don’t always know that your leggings aren’t comfy in yoga until you’ve actually worn them in class, and Athleta gets that. The store’s “give-it-a-workout guarantee” lets you do just that: wear it for exercise, then bring it back if you aren’t happy. Oh, and no rush: There’s no limit on how long you can wait to make your returns. Here are 14 more stores with the best return policies.

Staples: Not just price match, but price better

It’s not uncommon for a store to have a price-match guarantee to make sure you buy it there instead of from a competitor, but Staples will do you one better. If you show proof of a better price at another store or online, the store will drop its price to match it, plus take another 10 percent off. If you’re working on home improvements, Home Depot has basically the same policy.

10 people share the moment they knew their relationship was over — and it will break your heart

Stefan and Elena The Vampire Diaries

The phrase, "When you know, you know," is consistently used to describe how it feels to meet the person you're meant to be with. However, the saying can be just as applicable for deciding when you realize that's not the person you're with.

It may be one small thing that makes you see all the other signs you missed, or it may come out of nowhere. In any case, no matter how long it's drawn out, there seems to always be one distinct moment where you realize it's time to end your relationship. While it's never easy to break up with someone, you really do know when it's worth it.

Curious why other people choose to break up? Maybe even looking for some reassurance of why you ended a relationship or are thinking of breaking up with someone now. From manipulation to forgetting their birthday, we asked people for their reasons why they ended a relationship.

1. He didn’t love me anymore.

"My boyfriend and I had constantly been fighting for a couple of months, his love and affection had diminished. I was sad all the time.

"It was late at night and I had been with a group of girl friends. I cried all night to them and said out loud, 'He doesn't love me anymore.' I woke up the next morning, face swollen from intensely crying. I found myself thinking about the night before and the words I had stated out loud. If I knew and acknowledge that he didn't love me anymore, why was I still with him? I had lost myself in trying to constantly fix us. Even though it caused me heart break and depression, I knew it was what I had to do.

"I tried to meet up with him to break up with him in person but he couldn't even give me the time of day, which only justified what I was about to do. I broke up with him in text and told him about the night before, about how I knew he didn't love me, and I deserved better." - Marisol

2. He forgot my birthday.

"I can remember the moment like it was yesterday. It's the third week of spring. It's a gorgeous day out. The sun is shining. There's clear blue skies. It's my birthday. I'm excited to hear from my family and friends. The day passes, I hear from everyone, except him. He's usually the first person to call. But I hear nothing. No call, no text, no email, no voicemail … nothing. I get radio silence. I'm heartbroken. This is the confirmation I need. His actions tell me everything. Clearly, I'm no longer a priority in his life. I get the message." - Lindy

3. He had no room for me in his house.

"Ours was a very long-distance relationship, with him in Seattle and me in Western Massachusetts. I knew going in that he wasn't going to move, so if the relationship worked out I would be the one moving. I was willing — once we were engaged — to sell or rent my home in Massachusetts, and close down my massage therapy practice. The commitment on his end was he would support me while I built a business again in Washington. That included making space in his home for an in-home office until I could afford to rent something.

"When the time came to actually prepare that space, it became clear to me that — not only was he not willing to give up much physical space — he also seemed to think my work-related items should magically disappear from sight between clients, with no change to his precious man cave, nor his ability to watch movies, etc. during sessions.

"The actual moment I knew it was not going to work was when I wrote to ask what HE was willing to sacrifice for our relationship, and he responded: 'You shouldn't have to sacrifice anything for someone else, doing that takes away from who you are as a person.'

"I knew then his selfishness knew no bounds, and that he would never understand my definition ... in which giving something up for the other makes you a better person."  - Sonya

Fortnite is a massively popular game that's available on many platforms, including phones, PC, and game consoles. But the game is reliant on several things to work, including Fortnite's servers dotted around the world, and a strong internet connection within your home.

If you're wondering why Fortnite isn't working for you, here's what you should do:

Before doing anything else, check out this Epic Games status website to see if Fortnite's various services are operational or experiencing degraded performance.

Epic Games is very good about keeping the website updated frequently, and will place messages at the very top of the website if it's exploring why any particular services aren't working as intended.

Check the official Fortnite Twitter account, which is very good at providing timely updates for all players.

You can visit the company's Twitter account here. Be sure to also read the "Tweets & Replies" tab on Twitter in case Epic Games has answered your question to another person.

You can also try Down Detector, which is a third-party website but is very accurate at keeping tabs on reported issues, server problems, and more.

7 ways to figure out who the hiring manager is when it's not listed in a job posting

woman resume job applicatino

  • Knowing how to address a cover letter with no name can be confusing and frustrating.
  • But while it may be tempting to use a generic greeting like "To Whom It May Concern," you should always resist the urge.
  • Amanda Augustine, career expert at TopResume, shared her best strategies for figuring out who's in charge of hiring.
  • For example, you can use the email address provided to search for the person's name. Or, you can simply look for information about the person you'd be reporting to.

Just because a job posting omits the name of the person in charge of the hiring process doesn't mean you should address your cover letter"To Whom It May Concern."

According to Amanda Augustine, career advice expert for TopResume, you'll always want to direct your cover letter to a specific individual (unless the posting is anonymous). Otherwise, you might give the impression that you didn't put any effort into your application or you don't pay attention to detail.

So how do you figure out who's doing the hiring? Augustine shares her top strategies:

DON'T MISS: The 5 worst ways to address a cover letter

1. Reread the job description

Before you panic and conclude that there's no name listed, go back and reread the job posting very carefully. There might be a name and email address lurking at the bottom of the posting that you missed the first time.

2. Use the email address provided to search for a name

Sometimes companies will direct candidates to send their applications to a specific email address, without providing a name to go along with it.

That's a big clue.

There's a good chance the email address is the person's first initial and last name (for example, mine is slebowitz@businessinsider.com), or maybe just their first name. Once you have that information, you can run a Google search for "S Lebowitz Business Insider" or "Shana Business Insider" and see what you come up with.

3. Look for the person who created the posting

If you found the job posting on LinkedIn, sometimes you'll see it was created by a specific recruiter or hiring manager, depending on the size of the company.

In that case, you should address your cover letter to him or her because that person is obviously directly involved in the hiring process.
