"Godzilla" is out in theaters Friday and is expected to be one of the summer's biggest movies.

The original film from Ishiro Honda was released in 1954. On its 60th anniversary, Warner Bros. and Legendary are rebooting the franchise with inspiration from the first movie.

Director Gareth Edwards ("Monsters") described how his new film is draws from the original black-and-white to us during the film’s press junket in New York.

“For a lot of people who don’t know about Godzilla, or they grew up on some of the more, child-friendly versions, it’s a surprise to watch the original because it’s really a very serious metaphor for Hiroshima and Nagasaki," said Edwards.

Warner Bros. recently released a ton of images before the film's release highlighting an international cast including Bryan Cranston ("Breaking Bad"), Ken Watanabe ("Inception"), Aaron Taylor-Johnson ("Kick-Ass"), and Elizabeth Olsen ("Martha Marcy May Marlene").

Warning: Minor spoilers follow.

Forget what you know about the 1998 “Godzilla” movie from Sony.

For those unfamiliar with the original 1954 “Godzilla,” the movie introduces a monster mutated from a nuclear reaction.

The reboot brings the creature back to its roots.

Cohen penthouse

Some people just don't know how to appreciate a deal.

According to Page Six, billionaire hedge fund manager Steve Cohen — whose hedge fund S.A.C. Capital pleaded guilty to insider trading last year — can't unload his Upper East Side duplex penthouse, and it's upsetting him a great deal.

From Page Six:

One source tells us, “Cohen hasn’t had a buyer, and he blames his broker. Furious is not the word. He’s had enough.” But another source sniffed, “The lack of a buyer might be because some feel the place might have some bad karma.”

The apartment has been on sale for over a year, and has already seen one price chop, from $115 million to $98 million.

What more must Cohen give?

Corcoran has the details of the 9,000-square-foot, four bedroom, 5.5 bathroom apartment at One Beacon Court. It's definitely impressive, especially considering Cohen bought the space for a mere $24 million. Look and see for yourself.

The apartment features a stunning living room with 24-foot ceilings.

Meet The 53 Best Small-Business People Of The Year

triangle club

For the past 50 years, the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) has celebrated the nation's entrepreneurs and small-business owners during its annual National Small Business Week, which kicks off today.

In addition to events, panels, and talks that happen around the U.S., the SBA names winners for Small Business Person of the Year from the 50 states, the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico, and Guam. From this group of 53 outstanding entrepreneurs, one is chosen as the national winner on May 16.

The SBA, which provides American small-business owners with loans, federal contracts, and strategic counseling, selects the winners based on a handful of factors, including the business' staying power, growth in number of employees, sales growth, innovation in the field, and contributions to the community. The SBA defines a small business as one that is independently owned and operated, organized for profit, and, depending on the industry, has a maximum staff of 100 to 1,500 employees and revenue of $500,000 to $20 million.

This year's winners are creating jobs, driving innovation, and carving out niche markets. Take South Dakota's Ryan McFarland, who created a safe bicycle alternative for young children that brought in $10 million in sales last year, or the New Jersey-based family business Kiran Gill, an environmental firm that has grown revenue an average of 50% annually to $13 million.

These entrepreneurs show that a smart strategy, a little luck, and a lot of hard work can still pay off.

ALABAMA: Harvey Nix, Proventix Systems

Nix founded Proventix in 2007 and developed an automated hygiene-compliance system for healthcare facilities that tracks when workers perform a cleansing activity such as washing their hands. Independent studies have shown the system has increased the levels of hygiene in facilities that have adopted it and lowered the risk of spreading infection.

As CEO, Nix has grown the company from two employees and one client to 23 full-time employees and 42 clients in 11 states. He plans on doubling the number of employees in 2015.

ALASKA: Ginna Baldiviez and John Baldiviez, House of Bread Anchorage

The Baldiviezes have been operating businesses in Alaska since 1990. In 2010 they opened the Anchorage branch of the House of Bread bakery-and-cafe franchise based in California. After three years, they achieved gross sales of almost $1 million.

"Our goal was to become part of the community," John said. "And I think that is something that we made happen with the support of our loyal customers."

ARIZONA: Cynthia Miracle Reed, MIRACORP

When Reed, an Army veteran, gave birth to her daughter in 1989, she left Vector Research and created her own company to have better work-life balance. MIRACORP started as a management-and-administrative-services consulting firm based out of her home. In 2008, she received SBA 8(a) certification, which assists financially disadvantaged small businesses.

As president and CEO, she has since guided MIRACORP to an 850% growth in revenues. It now has 122 employees with a presence in 11 states and the District of Columbia, and has worked with federal agencies like Veterans Affairs and Homeland Security.

Measuring approximately 1,200 feet long and weighing 223,000 tons, the size and and sheer magnitude of the ship is almost mind boggling.

And yet over 5,000 passengers are probably aboard, dancing the Congo at this moment.

FindTheBest helped us determine the biggest cruise ships on the seas right now. These mega-ships have everything from ice skating rinks to outdoor parks, and feel more like mobile cities than boats.

The 13 Best Cities For Brand-New College Grads

College Students Graduates Graduation

For people in their mid-20s to early 30s who have finished their education and are starting their careers, figuring out where to live can be difficult.

With local economies varying from place to place and recent grads potentially looking for a partner to start a family, it's good to be around other people in your age range.

To try to figure out where newly minted young professionals should live, we evaluated the 200 largest metropolitan areas in the U.S. on a variety of measures that might be important to recent grads.

We used six measures to evaluate the 200 largest metropolitan areas in the U.S. From the Census Bureau's 2012 American Community Survey, we took the share of the population of each city that had young adults between the ages of 20 and 34, the percent of people who had never been married as a proxy for single people, the share of the population with a bachelor's degree or higher, the median earnings for a worker in the city, and the percentage of rental households that paid less than 35% of monthly income on housing expenses as a measure of apartment affordability.

We also took the March 2014 unemployment figures for each from the Bureau of Labor Statistics' Local Area Unemployment Statistics.

Each city was given a ranking score from 0 to 100 for each of these measures, and then those rankings were averaged together to find the final ranking.

12 (tie). Sioux Falls, SD

Sioux Falls had an extremely low unemployment rate at 3.9% in March. Sioux Falls also, by one measure, has the most affordable apartment rent in the country: 71.1% of apartment households spent less than 35% of their monthly incomes on housing costs, a much higher proportion than in any of the other cities.

Something that might give a 20- or 30-something college graduate pause is that Sioux Falls has somewhat fewer highly educated people than the other cities on this list, with just 29.2% of its residents holding a bachelor's degree or higher.

12 (tie). Omaha, NE

Similar to Sioux Falls, Omaha has very low unemployment, at 4.5%, and very affordable apartments, with 63.5% of renting households paying less than 35% of monthly income on gross rent.

Unfortunately, for single college grads trying to decide where to settle down, Omaha has fewer singles than the other cities on this list, with just 32% of its population having never been married.

11. Minneapolis/St. Paul, MN

The Twin Cities are economically dynamic, home to Target and many other large employers. It's not that surprising that Minneapolis and St. Paul are very well educated with 39.5% of residents having a bachelor's or higher. Median worker earnings are solid at $36,358 a year, and unemployment is relatively low at 4.9%.

On the downside, there are fewer people in the earlier stages of their careers in Minneapolis, with just 21.1% of the population falling between 20 and 34.

The 45 Best Restaurants In America

The Best Restaurants in America 2x1The restaurant industry is notoriously cut-throat: According to the National Restaurant Association, 30% of restaurants fail in the first year they open, and of those that survive, another 30% close in the next two.

To stand out in an increasingly bloated market, restaurants need to wow diners with incredible meals, outstanding service, and great ambiance — especially if they're charging upwards of $100 a person for the experience.

With dozens of best-restaurant lists and user-generated reviews crowding the internet, the definitive winner can get lost in the shuffle. We looked at five notable restaurant rankings compiled by food critics, diners, and experts, and combined these rankings to come up with the ultimate list of the Best Restaurants in America.

Go straight to the restaurants »

The rankings we used were The Daily Meal's 101 Best Restaurants in AmericaOpenTable's 2013 Diners' Choice Top 100 Best Restaurants in AmericaThe World's 100 Best Restaurants; the James Beard Foundation's 2014 Restaurant and Chef Award Semifinalists; and Zagat's 20 Top-Rated Restaurants Across America.

We gave each restaurant a numerical rating based on how many lists the restaurant appeared on and how high it appeared on lists that were ranked. Restaurants that appeared on multiple lists ranked higher on our list, while restaurants that ranked on only one of these lists ended up closer to the bottom. You can read our complete methodology and see numerical scores here.

45. Zuni Café

Location: San Francisco, California

Chef: Judy Rodgers

Co-owner and chef Judy Rodgers has been at the helm of Zuni's kitchen since 1987, making this Bay-area restaurant a standout on multiple "best" lists, including spot No. 23 on The Daily Meal's 101 Best Restaurants.

Zuni's menu draws on classic Venetian comfort food with a modern twist, using local and organic ingredients wherever possible.

44. Cochon

Location: New Orleans, Louisiana

Chef: Donald Link and Stephen Stryjewski

The brainchild of chef Donald Link and chef-owner Stephen Stryjewski, Cochon makes traditional Cajun comfort food cutting-edge.

Cochon appeared on last year's list at No. 33 and makes a return at No. 44. This Big Easy restaurant ranked 22nd on The Daily Meal's list.

43. The Publican

Location: Chicago, Illinois

Chef: Paul Kahan

A newcomer to our list, The Publican is "an homage to beer, pork, and oysters." Executive chef Paul Kahan and chef de cuisine Brian Huston serve their farmhouse fare, which takes on both French and Belgian influences, to eager meat-loving guests along communal beer-hall-style tables.

Publican ranked No. 21 on The Daily Meal's list but didn't rank anywhere else.

15 Etiquette Rules For Dining At Fancy Restaurants

$

fancy restaurant table place setting

Some restaurant etiquette is just common sense: Don't speak when your mouth is full, don't tell rude jokes during the meal, and always cover your mouth when you cough.

Others can be a bit more nuanced. Who pays after a business meal? Where do you put your napkin when you stand? And how exactly does one order the perfect bottle of wine?

In honor of National Etiquette Week and our just-published list of the 45 best restaurants in America, we decided to clear up some common etiquette questions.

Patricia Napier-Fitzpatrick of The Etiquette School of New York and author of "The Art of the Meal: Simple Etiquette for Simply Everyoneshared some guidelines for dining at expensive restaurants.

DO always dress nicely.

"I still believe men should wear jackets to dinner, if not a suit," Napier-Fitzpatrick said. "If a man is dining with clients — and especially clients from other countries which tend to be more formal — they should wear a jacket and a tie."

"Women should be wearing a dress or suit, and shoes instead of sandals."

DON'T put your cellphone, keys, or purse on the table.

It's just common sense. It distracts not only your other dining companions, but also your waiter and the entire restaurant.

DO let your guest order first.

"The host, especially if it's a woman, has to make it clear that he or she is the host," Napier-Fitzpatrick told us.

"Say phrases like, 'Will you please bring my guest...' or 'My guest would like to order first' to ward off confusion."

college graduate

As graduation ceremonies around the country start to take place, you may be looking for the perfect gift for a new college grad.

Money is an obvious option, but presents that will help grads post-college are even more useful.

Here are 15 great gifts at varying price points that any grad would love.

Give the gift of money with cards to local restaurants or gas stations.

Gas and food are two of the most expensive necessities, so there's no shame in getting your grad a gift card for one or both.

The website SVM Cards has options for plenty of gas stations, or you can find a nice restaurant close to his or her new home and buy a giftcard there (most places have gift cards if you ask).

Buy it: SVM Cards

Stop her from stealing your Netflix password with an account of her own.

What better way to unwind after a long day at work than with a Netflix account? Netflix's huge selection of shows and movies is the perfect gift for any TV addict.

Plus, now that the prices are rising, your grad has even less reason to buy her own account. She'll appreciate a free year from you.

Buy it: $7.99/a month

A tidy apartment is easy with a cheap and lightweight vacuum cleaner.

An expensive, bulky vacuum cleaner doesn't make sense for people with small apartments. Instead, buy your grad a vacuum he will actually use, like this Bissell Featherweight version.

No bags are required so clean up is super easy, and it converts quickly from a floor to hand-held vacuum.

Buy it: $20 at Amazon

Netflix side by side

Last week, we told you how Netflix was sneakily testing a new logo on its YouTube page. As it turns out, Netflix isn't the only company to tweak its corporate image this year.

In fact, 2014 has seen changes to a number of iconic logos, including Cadillac, Olive Garden, and Reebok.

Some of these brands, like Cadillac, merely made a couple of minor changes to logos we've come to recognize over the years. Others, like Reebok, chose to completely re-imagine their brand identities.

This is Olive Garden's old logo. The restaurant changed its logo in March ...

And was jeered for making a logo that some people felt was too generic.

Bacardi's old logo featured the brand's iconic bat.

24 Iconic Portraits Of The Coolest Americans Ever

$

ElvisPresley_Marshutz_Stanley

What exactly do we mean when we call someone “cool?” Most would struggle to describe it, but just about everyone knows "cool" when they see it. It is a distinctly American invention that finds its roots in African-American culture, Jazz, and the multitude of icons that the American fame machine has produced.

A new exhibition and book, "American Cool," currently on display at the National Portrait Gallery in Washington D.C., traces the origins of “cool.” It also includes a look at the 100 “coolest” Americans of all time.

To decide who made the list, curators Frank H. Goodyear III, the co-director of the Bowndown College Museum of Art, and Joel Dinerstein, the director of the American Studies program at Tulane University, engaged in a vigorous debate based on four criteria.

Dinerstein explained to PBS Newshour: “First an originality of artistic vision as established through a signature style, which is to say their artistic vision cannot be separate from their personality. Second, that in a given historical moment, they were perceived as a cultural rebel. Third, that they have high profile recognition. Fourth, that they have a recognized cultural legacy.”

While the usual suspects are featured, including James Dean, Jimi Hendrix, and Hunter S. Thompson, there are many less obvious faces on the "cool" list as well. All are, however, what Dinerstein calls,"the successful rebels of American culture."

The National Portrait Gallery shared a selection of the portraits with us here, but you can see the entire collection in the book or at the gallery until September 7th.

10 Surprising Things You Can Make With A 3-D Printer

The Micro 3D Printer

3-D printers have come a long way since the technology initially debuted in the early 1980s.

Like most technologies, today's 3-D printers have become smaller, cheaper, and more advanced over the past couple of decades.

As 3-D printers have evolved, so have the ways in which we use them.

The concept of using a computer to print everything from the shoes on your feet to tonight's dinner may sound like science fiction, but affordable 3-D printers have made this a reality.

Platforms such as MakerBot's Thingiverse, which offers an extensive library of ideas and models for 3-D printing, have helped the technology evolve from a a means of creating bottle openers and trinkets to shaping the way medical equipment and clothing are manufactured.

Here are a few common items that you probably didn't know were 3-D printable.

Pizza

Mechanical engineer Anjan Contractor was granted $125,000 from NASA to create a printer that could produce pizza. The goal was to create a more efficient way to provide food for astronauts on long space missions. In a video posted in late 2013, Contractor said the printer works by laying down the dough, cheese, and protein in separate layers.

Harvard Business School graduate Grace Choi created her own mini 3-D printer called the Mink, which is capable of printing real makeup. The Mink, which will retail for $300 and debuted on stage at TechCrunch Disrupt, connects to your computer and allows you to choose different colors by ripping the color code from any makeup tutorial on the internet. With a little help from Microsoft Paint, you can print makeup such as eye shadow just like you'd print a document from your computer.

Guitars

Using a Cubify 3-D printer, the team over at ODD Guitars has built a business on 3-D printing premium guitars. The bodies of these guitars are printed using a manufacturing process called Selective Laser Sintering. The model shown here is based on a Les Paul-inspired design, and starts at $3,500. That may sound expensive, but it's still much cheaper than an actual top-tier Gibson Les Paul electric guitar, which could cost up to $10,000.

If you think you need a bachelor's degree to have a lucrative career, think again.

Yes, it's true that those with a bachelor's typically earn more than those without one — but it's certainly not always the case.

A new report by the career-guidance website CareerCast  found that there are plenty of high-paying jobs — including commercial pilot and registered nurse — that don't require four years of college. They do, however, require specialized training.

"There's no question that college graduates with four-year degrees are very likely to earn almost $1 million more in compensation through the course of their careers,"says Tony Lee, publisher of CareerCast. "However, for the many people who are unable to earn that degree because of the costs, financial obligations, or other reasons, it's still possible to have a very rewarding, challenging, fulfilling career that pays well.

"These jobs offer great opportunities for those job seekers," he said. "To land one of these jobs, you'll need to compensate with good old-fashioned hard work and some post-high-school training,"

CareerCast evaluated 200 professions across a variety of industries and skill levels to determine the highest-paying jobs that don't require a four-year degree. It gathered data from the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics, the Census Bureau, trade-association studies, and other sources.

Marc Bell, a financier, producer, and former CEO of adult networking site FriendFinder Networks (best-known as the corporate parent of Penthouse), is selling his massive South Florida home. At $35 million, it's the most expensive home ever listed in the city of Boca Raton, an affluent enclave north of Miami.

The eight-bedroom Mediterranean-style house is obviously beautiful from the outside, but don't let its stylish facade deceive you; inside, there's an extensive re-creation of the starship Enterprise along with plenty of other "Star Trek" memorabilia.

There's also a "Call of Duty" room, basketball court, and 2,000-square-foot ballroom turned arcade. This mansion has a little something for everyone.

Bell's home is a jaw-dropping 27,000 square feet.

The front door has beautiful Mediterranean details, and palm trees shade the entryway. But don't let the classic exterior fool you.

Let's start with the unbelievable home theater.

The 15 Best Jobs For People Who Aren't Good At Communicating

computer concentrate

Not everyone is a people person, so we wanted to find the best jobs for people who prefer to avoid frequent communication.

To rank these jobs, we used data from O*NET Online, a U.S. Department of Labor database with information on hundreds of jobs.

O*NET gives scores between zero and 100 to occupations for a range of characteristics, based on surveys of employees in those jobs and input from professional job analysts.

We took O*NET's measures of the importance of four communication skills: communicating with people inside the organization, communicating with people outside the organization, writing, and public speaking, and averaged together the scores for each job. Jobs were ranked better if that average score was lower.

We also factored in the 2013 median annual earnings for each job from the Bureau of Labor Statistics' National Occupational Employment and Wage Estimates. By combining the earnings rank and communication scores, we were able to identify high-paying jobs that don't require a lot of communication.

15. Locomotive Engineers

2013 median salary: $53,310

What they do: Drive train locomotives

Why they're on the list: Locomotive engineers have very little need for communicating with people outside their organizations, and basically zero public speaking duties.

14. Mining Roof Bolters

2013 median salary: $54,780

What they do: Install bolts in the roofs of mines for structural support

Why they're on the list: While communicating with coworkers is somewhat important for roof bolters, they have almost no contact with people outside the mine, and a below average amount of writing required in the job.

12 (tie). Applications Software Developers

2013 median salary: $92,660

What they do: Develop software applications targeted to end-users and clients

Why they're on the list: As with many of these jobs, communication within the organization is somewhat important. Much software development is done in teams, and keeping members of the team coordinated is crucial to many projects. However, public speaking is unimportant for app developers, and writing and communicating with people outside the organization is not typically emphasized.

15 Vintage Photos From The Golden Age Of Coney Island

Coney Island has been a summer retreat for generations of New Yorkers. The destination was at its height in the early 1960s, when scores of young baby boomers trekked off to the beaches with their families to escape the oppressive New York heat.

While the louder elements of Coney Island have been often photographed — Astroland Amusement park, the boardwalk, and sideshows — the more intimate interactions of beachgoers during the period has rarely been  seen until now.

Photographer Aaron Rose, a notoriously reclusive artist, spent the early '60s traveling to Coney Island to capture quieter moments at the place once called “the playground of the world.”

The work is now being shown for the first time at the Museum of the City of New York in an exhibition called “In A World Of Their Own: Coney Island Photographs By Aaron Rose.”

“[Coney Island] was filled with people who work in all kinds of professions, who would never normally be out like that,” Rose told Time. “The beach makes them have something in common — and that’s the thing I like most about it.”16 Photo by Aaron Rose Courtesy Museum of the City of New York.jpg03 Photo by Aaron Rose Courtesy Museum of the City of New York.jpg01 Photo by Aaron Rose Courtesy Museum of the City of New York.jpg04 Photo by Aaron Rose Courtesy Museum of the City of New York.jpg05 Photo by Aaron Rose Courtesy Museum of the City of New York.jpg06 Photo by Aaron Rose Courtesy Museum of the City of New York.jpg12 Photo by Aaron Rose Courtesy Museum of the City of New York.jpg07 Photo by Aaron Rose Courtesy Museum of the City of New York.jpg08 Aaron Rose Courtesy Museum of the City of New York.jpg09 Photo by Aaron Rose Courtesy Museum of the City of New York.jpg10 Photo by Aaron Rose Courtesy Museum of the City of New York.jpg11 Photo by Aaron Rose Courtesy Museum of the City of New York.jpg13 Photo by Aaron Rose Courtesy Museum of the City of New York.jpg15 Photo by Aaron Rose Courtesy Museum of the City of New York.jpg
