dr. dre and snoop dogg perform at coachella 2012

When Apple announced its acquisition of Beats Electronics for $3 billion, rapper Dr. Dre became hip-hop's wealthiest artist.

Dre is now worth about $800 million after the deal.

Dre also just recently bought a $40 million mansion in Los Angeles

News of Dre buying his new $40 million mansion broke before the deal became official, but we can't help but think the new digs were a bit of pre-celebration

Dr. Dre may be his rap name, but his real name is Andre Romelle Young.

Dre was born in Compton, California. He first made it big with hip-hop group N.W.A. in the 1980s.

N.W.A. consisted of Dr. Dre, Eazy-E, Ice Cube, DJ Yella, MC Ren, the Arabian Prince, and the D.O.C. Their second album, "Straight Outta Compton," marked the beginning of "gangsta rap."

Egypt's Richest Man Spends $70 Million On NYC's New Most Expensive Co-Op

Nassef Sawiris, the richest man in Egypt, has broken the record for the priciest co-op sale in New York City after purchasing the penthouse at 960 Fifth Avenue for $70 million, according to The New York Daily News.

The co-op belonged to Edgar Bronfman Sr., chairman of the Seagram Co., until he passed away in December 2013. The property was listed with Brown Harris Stevens for $65 million in February 2014, and the buyer has been a mystery since it went into contract for $70 million a little over two months ago.

Before this, the record for the priciest co-op sale belonged to David Geffen who paid $54 million for a Fifth Avenue penthouse in 2012

Sawiris' new home features 16 rooms, five fireplaces, a built-in safe, and a wraparound terrace with views of Central Park, among many other luxurious perks. One real estate source told The New York Post back in April that the new owner will likely gut the place.

The 19 Most Controversial Stocks in America

$
0

elon musk tesla

A frequent stock market meme over the last year or so has been that it is a "stock pickers market": With volatility seemingly absent across Wall Street, investors are under more pressure to find individual investments that help their portfolios outperform.

And there are no shortage of stocks where investors have staked their claim, arguing that some stocks are going to $0, and that others are going to the moon.

This year's list of the most controversial stocks includes the world's largest technology company, a troubled mobile game maker, and two companies lead by the incredible Elon Musk.

Some of these companies are facing attacks from hedge funders or analysts that believe their businesses are fraudulent or illegal, or simply a little overhyped. Other stocks are facing extinction, or are new to the public markets and have found out quickly how fickle stock investors can be

Based on our analysis of the current stock market landscape, here are the stocks, ranked from least to most controversial, that we will be keeping an eye on into the summer.

1. FireEye (FEYE)

Sector: Information Services

52-Week Performance: -10%

Performance From March 5 All-Time High: -64%

What’s Going On: FireEye shares took an absolute beating in March and April, at one point losing more than 70% from their March 5 closing high of $95.63. FireEye stock was the poster-boy for the sell-off in momentum names that took place during the spring.

What Happens Next: Analysts at Barclays recently upgraded FireEye and said it was time to buy the stock after the aggressive sell-off. The stock hasn't broken below $30 in the last couple weeks and may have found a temporary bottom. Investors maintain long memories of painful losses, but FireEye would argue it has the most innovative internet security platform on the market, and the stock might be getting its act together.

2. Plug Power (PLUG)

Sector: Alternative Energy

52-Week Performance: +1066%

What’s Going On: Plug Power stockwentnuts in the beginning of this year, closing at $1.55 on December 31 and closing as high as $10.31 on March 10. Things got really out of hand in mid-March when the stock traded between $6 and $10 during five trading sessions that saw more than 100 million shares change hands each day. Short selling blog Citron Research called the stock a "casino stock." At the height of the Nasdaq in early 2000, the stock traded above $1000 and was trading below $1 for much of 2013.

What Happens Next: Plug Power, reported first quarter revenue of $5.6 million and an adjusted net loss of $6.4 million. Fuel cell stocks went crazy earlier this year, and may do so again, but given that Plug was basically a penny stock for most of 2012 and 2013, this one will probably just continue to be a favorite of speculative traders looking for a quick profit.

3. Groupon (GRPN)

Sector: Information Technology

52-Week Performance: -16%

What’s Going On: It's been a tough 2014 for Groupon. The company's top tech guy left in February. That same month, the company reported disappointing earnings and the stock tumbled. Groupon ousted CEO and founder Andrew Mason in February 2013. In 2011, BI's Nicholas Carlson wrote an in-depth profile of the company, and things were already going south ahead of the company's IPO.

What Happens Next: Groupon, like Zynga, came public in late 2011, but faced the problem of how to turn a profit with free mobile applications. Following Mason's ouster, Groupon stock had a decent run through 2013, but investor enthusiasm over a new management team seems to have waned.

What Brazil's Brand-New $3.6-Billion World Cup Stadiums Look Like

fortaleza world cup stadium

The construction and renovation of 12 soccer stadiums for the 2014 World Cup in Brazil was plagued by cost overruns, legacy concerns, and missed construction deadlines.

There are also questions about the point of spending $3.6 billion on stadiums, some of which don't seem to have long-term uses, when other basic social services are underfunded.

These photos of the 12 host venues reflect the complexity of the Brazil World Cup. The venues are striking and surrounded by natural beauty; but they're also sometimes way behind schedule, sometimes tucked between slums, and sometimes needlessly expensive.

Our favorites: the Estadio das Dunas in Natal and the Arena Pantanal in Cuiaba.

Our least favorites: the depressing Arena Pernabumco in Recife.

The Maracana in Rio de Janeiro is the centerpiece of the World Cup.

The historic stadium once held nearly 200,000 people. After a $536-million renovation, the capacity is now 78,000.

7 Ways You Can Become More Successful By 'Thinking Like A Freak'

hot dog competition

University of Chicago economist Steven Levitt and journalist Stephen Dubner turned heads with their hit book "Freakonomics" in 2005 and its 2009 sequel "SuperFreakonomics," which use economics to explain why people do what they do.

The authors have returned with a new book, "Think Like a Freak," which lays out the unorthodox tactics and styles of thinking they use to reach their surprising conclusions.

This way of problem-solving, they argue, can allow you to overcome seemingly impossible challenges and soften up even the most stubborn people.

Read on to find out how you can "think like a freak." Along the way, you'll learn the genius of competitive eater Takeru Kobayashi and why Van Halen demanded that their dressing rooms be stocked with every color of M&Ms except brown.

Set aside your moral compass.

Levitt and Dubner say the three hardest words in the English language are "I don't know." So many of us would rather offer a hastily made conclusion than admit we are ignorant of an issue, they say.

This self-righteousness can make discussions on topics like fracking, gun control, and global warming emotional yelling matches rather than reasoned discussions. The key to being more reasonable is by occasionally setting aside your values and worldview, the authors say.

"A moral compass can convince you that all the answers are obvious (even when they're not) that there is a bright line between right and wrong (when often there isn't); and, worst, that you are certain you already know everything you need to know about a subject so you stop trying to learn more," Levitt and Dubner say.

Redefine unsolvable problems.

When a set of solutions to a problem keep yielding unsatisfactory results, Levitt and Dubner say, it is necessary to redefine what the problem actually is.

In 2000, Takeru Kobayashi did this when he found a way to win and forever change the Coney Island hot-dog-eating championship in Brooklyn, New York.

He noticed that nowhere in the rule book did it say participants had to eat a hot dog in its bun, as all previous competitors had. After several experiments, he determined that he would break a hot dog into halves that required little to no chewing and then dip the chewy bun into the glass of water provided, which made it easier to eat.

Since no one had tried this approach before, he considered the 25 and 1/8 hot-dog-and-bun record to be meaningless. On the day of the contest, he crushed the competition and set a new record of 50 hot dogs with buns. Because he approached the challenge from a new angle, he was not mentally constrained by the record that preceded him.

Think like a kid.

Levitt and Dubner argue that the worst trait of adults, especially intelligent ones, is that they expect the world to behave according to their beliefs. And that's why they can learn something from the average 8-year-old.

Kids operate without a lifetime's understanding of how the world works, and that's why, for example, they are significantly better than adults at figuring out magic tricks, according to professional magician Alex Stone.

He says that many times an adult spends the entire trick trying to outsmart the magician, and then is shocked when he is fooled by a simple sleight-of-hand technique, thinking himself the victim of hypnosis or something else far-fetched. Meanwhile, a kid along for the ride may simply notice that the magician grabbed two cards when pretending to just have one.

The World Is About To Fall In Love With The Fashionable Grandpas Of Instagram

fashion grandpas instagram

Vintage bow ties, pocket squares, and manicured mustaches are currently back in style, but no one wears them better than the gentlemen who rocked them the first time around.

A new Instagram account called @fashiongrandpas is gaining popularity for showcasing the sartorial styles of the 70+ crowd in New York. 23-year-old Christina Belchere, who works in Fashion PR, started the account back in March after noticing dapper old men scuffling about around her office on 57th and Madison.

“My personal style is very androgynous as I have always preferred men's clothing over women’s,” Belchere told Business Insider. “I take pictures of any man or woman (or building, or artwork) in this stylish city for my own fashion inspiration reference, and I started to notice there were a ton of grandpas starting to accumulate in my photostream. I wanted their outfits.”

Belchere began snapping pictures on her iPhone and turned her love for menswear into the adorable @fashiongrandpas account.

“The response has been incredible,” she told us. “I was just surprised to see that no one had come up with it first. The amount of fashion grandpas in New York is obscene once you are aware of the concept.”

Since then it’s been picked up by Refinery29 and My Daily, and has begun to rake in the followers (gaining almost 200 in the last hour).

See some of Belchere’s best snaps below, and check out more on the @fashiongrandpas Instagram.

The 10 Hottest Travel Destinations Of The Future

Montenegro

Instead of fighting the crowds in Paris or Rome, head to a lesser-known travel destination like Montenegro, one of the hottest places to travel in the next ten years.

We recently published a list of the 50 hottest up-and-coming travel destinations from Love Home Swap.

To create this list, Love Home Swap compared growth figures for each country by looking at the annual growth per year figures for travel and tourism's direct contribution to the country's GDP between 2014 and 2024 from the World Travel and Tourism Council (WTTC).

While some of the destinations on this list are already tourism hotspots, others are just gearing up to enter a tourism boom.

#10 Cape Verde

Located off the west coast of Africa, Cape Verde is an island country that's often referred to as the African Caribbean thanks to its lush mountains, gorgeous beaches, and clear waters. Recently, the country has become more economically and politically stable, which means that tourism will increase in the future.

#9 Thailand

Over the last few years, Thailand has become one of the hottest tourist destinations in the world. Last year, Bangkok was the world's most popular city for tourists, and the country saw a record 27 million visitors. And even though the country is currently in the midst of a military coup, it doesn't seem to be affecting tourists or slowing the tourism industry down.

#8 Cambodia

Cambodia is finally getting out from the shadow of the Khmer Rouge and is becoming a stable, tourist-friendly country. Angkor Wat, a complex of ancient temples hidden in the jungle, is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and one of the most popular tourist destinations in the world. It will only continue to become more popular in the future.

10 Striking Photos Of Half-Male, Half-Female Butterflies

Nature contains some jaw-dropping anomalies, including the gynandromorph— an organism with both male and female characteristics. While gynandromorphism can occur in crustaceans, birds, and many insects, it manifests itself most beautifully in butterflies.

The phenomenon is exceptionally rare in butterflies, estimated to occur in about one in every 10,000, or 0.01%. It is so rare that Luke Brown, the expert lepidopterist at London's Natural History Museum, has only ever seen three in his entire career

Despite their rarity, Dr. Andrew D. Warren, the senior collections manager at the Florida Museum of Natural History, has assembled an extensive collection on gynandromorphs on his website, Butterflies of America, which he has shared with us here.

Gynandromorphs are organisms that are divided between male and female parts. It is so striking in butterflies because it results in a butterfly that has distinctly different patterns and coloration on the wings.

butterfly 6A gynandromorph that is divided equally between male and female is known as a bilateral gynandromorph. Not all gynandromorphs are bilateral, though.Colias_eurytheme_bilateral_gynandromorph_1d1_USA_ILLINOIS_Madison_Co._Alton_18 VIII 1936 PMNHSome gynandromorphs develop asymmetrically, with male and female areas that are less obviously separate. Gorgeous Photos Of Everything You'll Find At NYC's Governors Ball Music Festival

GovBall (34 of 45)

This past weekend, Governors Ball held its 4th annual event on Randall's Island, a three-day festival packed with big acts, raucous partying, and a laundry list of activities and amenities for festival-goers who wanted a break from the music.

The sprawling festival was even bigger than years past with four stages of music that featured acts like Jack White, Vampire Weekend, Outkast, and the Strokes.

Unlike last year, the weather was perfect — bright sunny skies and warm temperatures continued throughout the weekend.

We headed down to the festival to check out what it was all about.

Festival organizers arranged a number of public transportation options for getting to the festival. We decided to go low-key and walk across the RFK Bridge to Randall's Island on foot.

The festival grounds were already kicking as we made our way over.

The lines looked intimidating when we arrived, but they moved quickly. We didn't wait more than five minutes to make it inside.

8 Real Italian Dishes You Should Order Instead Of The American Knockoffs

$

When Americans think of Italian food, they tend to think of pepperoni pizza, garlic bread, and chicken Parmesan. But all of those dishes are actually Italian-American hybrid foods created by Italian immigrants who were cooking with U.S. ingredients.

In other words, what we think of as “classic Italian” is not actually from Italy at all.

We rounded up some ways to go more authentic, whether it's in your own kitchen or on your next trip to Italy.

Instead of "Italian dressing," top your salads with olive oil, vinegar, salt, and pepper.

olive oil vinegar salt garlic salad dressingItalian dressing — the vinaigrette-style salad dressing with vinegar, vegetable oil, chopped bell peppers, and corn syrup — would never be consumed by most Italians.

Instead, people in Italy eat their salads with olive oil, vinegar, salt, and maybe pepper. That’s it. Diners mix the ingredients at the table themselves, even at most restaurants where customers are provided with an oil and vinegar set and expected to dress their own salad.

Instead of marinara sauce, order pasta al pomodoro or spaghetti alla puttanesca.

spaghetti alla puttanescaMarinara sauce as we know is usually made with tomatoes, garlic, herbs, and onions, but it's an invention of Italian-American immigrants working with ingredients that were available in America. Italians are more likely to order pasta al pomodoro, with a sauce made from fresh tomatoes, olive oil, and basil.

Another menu item closely related to pasta with marinara sauce is spaghetti alla puttanesca. Though this dish is much more modern — only dating back to the mid 20th century— the ingredients for the sauce are quite close to marinara and include tomatoes, olive oil, capers, and garlic for a salty, tangy taste.

Instead of garlic bread, order bruschetta.

classic bruschettaGarlic bread is an Americanized interpretation of Mediterranean bruschetta (broo-SKET-ahnotbroo-SHET-ah). Italian Americans substituted expensive olive oil for butter, and added chopped garlic and salt for taste.

Bruschetta, on the other hand, is a heavily toasted thick slice of bread rubbed with garlic and then moistened with a generous helping of oil. Recently, restaurants in both America and Italy may also add onions and tomatoes  for an even tastier appetizer.

Instead of shrimp scampi, try langoustines sautéed with olive oil, garlic, onion, and white wine.

langoustinesShrimp scampi is one of those dishes that’s quintessentially Italian-American. Scampi is the Italian word for langoustine (small, lobster-like crustaceans), but Italian immigrant cooks used shrimp instead, substituted olive oil for butter, and added pasta to make the helpings bigger. When they named the dish, the "scampi" moniker stuck.

A more common Italian dish to order is langoustines sautéed with olive oil, garlic, onion, and white wine — no pasta necessary.

Instead of pepperoni pizza, try pizza topped with prosciutto.

pizza prosciutto tomatoesPepperoni may be the most popular pizza topping in the U.S., but if you order a “pepperoni pizza” in Italy, the chef will most likely bring you a delicious pizza topped with bell peppers, or peperoni. Pepperoni pizza as we know it is almost never served in Italy, except in touristy areas. Other popular toppings to try in lieu of pepperoni include broccoli rabe, mozzarella, corn, anchovies, and even potato slices.

It should also be noted that pizzas in Italy have less cheese and thinner crusts, and vary by region (in Rome, for instance, they have flatbread pizza and not the typical Neopolitan pizzas we usually see).

Instead of Fettuccine Alfredo, ask for fettuccine al burro.

fettuccine alfredo al burro pastaFettuccine Alfredo lovers will be happy to know that Italy has its own version of the creamy dish, which also happens to be much tastier. It’s called fettuccine al burro.

The recipe was invented at a Roman restaurant opened by a man named Alfredo di Lelio at the turn of the 20th century. He added together large amounts of cheese, butter, and pasta water to the fettuccine and gently tossed the piping hot pasta at the table for customers, creating a silky sauce of butter and cheese in the process.

Word of the dish spread to America after people started singing di Lelio’s praises. American cooks rushed to achieve the same dish — the only problem was that mixing the butter and parmesan perfectly is time-consuming and difficult. Instead, American cooks added cream as a shortcut, which makes the sauce thick, bland, and calorie-filled.

Try the lighter and more flavorful fettuccine al burro once and you’ll never go back.

Instead of “Sunday Gravy,” order Neapolitan ragù or bolognese sauce.

bolognese meat sauce pasta“Sunday Gravy” was something many Italian-American children grew up with. Families would throw all kinds of meat into a pot and and let it simmer with tomato sauce, onions, garlic, and bit of olive oil.

The resulting meat sauce is very similar to both Neapolitan ragù and bolognese sauce. Both styles of sauce are made with soffrito (roughly chopped celery, onions, and carrots), meat, and tomato sauce. Neapolitan typically uses more tomato sauce and whole chunks of meat unlike Bolognese, which uses finely chopped meat and less tomato sauce. Neapolitan ingredients can also vary more widely with additions like red wine, butter, raisins, olive oil, and/or basil leaves.

Instead of those rainbow cookies, order any other Italian dessert cookie.

biscottiRainbow cookies (also known as Napoleon cookies, seven layer cookies, Venetian cookies, Italian flag cookies, and tricolor cookies) are three layers of brightly colored almond sponge cake with apricot and/or raspberry jam with a chocolate coating. Italian immigrants likely made these cookies to pay homage to Italy’s flag.

But these are purely American-made deserts that you will not find anywhere in Italy. Instead, take advantage of the delicious biscotti dunked in Tuscan wine, Cavallucci (pastries made with anise, almonds and candied fruits), and pignoli (a type of macaroon) that Italy does better than almost anywhere else in the world.

Praia vermelha, rio beach

Daily life plays out at the beaches in Rio de Janeiro: families gather for informal meals, kids play football (soccer), and young people flirt over beer and caipirinhas.

Brazil's capital city is famous for its beaches, from world-famous Ipanema and Copacabana to lesser-known beaches like Prainha and Vermelha.

The beaches are so popular that they become the city's backyard, where Cariocas (people who live in Rio) eat, socialize, and play.

This is world-famous Ipanema beach. It is located in the heart of the city, separated from the urban center by a roadway.

Every Sunday, the roadway closes to cars, while pedestrians, cyclists, and skateboarders take advantage of the open space.

Yet the beach feels like it's a world away, with its white sands and clear water. There are two mountains, called the Dois Irmãos (Two Brothers), at the western end of the beach.

The 10 Best Used Cars For First-Time Drivers

Ford Fusion CC BY Carlmages

For most young people and their parents, buying a first car is a major step.

One great option is to look at used cars, which can often be had for a fraction of the cost of brand-new versions.

We came up with 10 used cars we think are the best for the young car buyer on a budget.

To make our list, we focused on cars that are available on the market right now for under $10,000. We looked for ones that are reliable, fun to drive, comfortable, attractive, economical, practical, and most of all, safe.

For safety, we checked out the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety's (IIHS) rankings and ratings (where applicable) for the cars we selected. Prices are based on current prices on Autotrader.com and reflect the lowest price we thing a decent example may cost.

1976 - 1996 Mercedes-Benz Diesel

Starting price: $1,500 and up

IIHS crash test rating: N/A

Why buy it: Back in the 1980s and early 1990s, Mercedes built some of the most durable and tank-like cars on the road. Its diesel models were the biggest tanks of them all.

These cars were virtually unbreakable and can run for hundreds of thousands of miles without complaint. Other parts of the car may start to break, but in our research we have seen that even a series of the most extensive repairs should not cost more than $1,000.

Though the big diesels may not be the fastest sedans on the road, what kid wouldn't want to cruise around in a Benz?

1997- Present Honda CR-V

Starting price: $2,500 and up

IIHS crash test rating: Marginal (1997-2001), Good (2002-Present)

Why buy it: Since its launch in 1997, the Honda CR-V has been one of the hottest selling mini-SUV's in the world. The CR-V offers an incredible blend of economy, utility and Honda's unbeatable track record for reliability.

Though some may find the CR-V's smallish four-cylinder engine to be a tad underpowered, it is more than acceptable for most daily commutes. Honda has also included a host of fun features like a collapsible center console and an in-car picnic table.

1998-2004 Toyota Tacoma

Starting price: $2,900 and up

IIHS crash test rating: Acceptable

Why buy it: Toyota's Tacoma pickup makes our list as the only representative of the pickup segment. The Tacoma offers rugged off-road capability in addition to Toyota's strong build quality.

The truck's available four -and six-cylinder powerplants offer good performance, but some may find them to be a bid thirsty when it comes to fuel.

The Hunger Games, Catching Fire

Think no one is judging you when you highlight your book passages in “The Hunger Games”? Think again.

Kindle users can highlight their favorite book passages so they can return to them later, and Amazon keeps track of the most highlighted excerpts (Vox did a neat analysis of the ranking today).

It turns out that Kindle users seriously love Katniss Everdeen, the heroine of "The Hunger Games" series. One of her quotes in “Catching Fire,” the second installment of the series, was highlighted by almost 18,000 readers.

To put that in perspective, that’s twice the number of people who highlighted Jane Austen’s famous opening in “Pride and Prejudice."

Below. are the 10 most highlighted book passages of all time (see the full list here). Aside from two “Pride and Prejudice” quotes, the list is dominated with passages from the “Hunger Games” series.

  1. “Because sometimes things happen to people and they’re not equipped to deal with them.”– “Catching Fire” by Suzanne Collins (highlighted by 17,784 Kindle users)

  2. "It is a truth universally acknowledged, that a single man in possession of a good fortune, must be in want of a wife.”– “Pride and Prejudice” by Jane Austen (highlighted by 9,260 Kindle users)

  3. “The rules of the Hunger Games are simple. In punishment for the uprising, each of the twelve districts must provide one girl and one boy, called tributes, to participate. The twenty-four tributes will be imprisoned in a vast outdoor arena that could hold anything from a burning desert to a frozen wasteland. Over a period of several weeks, the competitors must fight to the death. The last tribute standing wins.” - “The Hunger Games” by Suzanne Collins (highlighted by 9,260 Kindle users)

  4. “It takes ten times as long to put yourself back together as it does to fall apart.”“Mockingjay” by Suzanne Collins (highlighted by 8,833 Kindle users)

  5. “‘I just want to spend every possible minute of the rest of my life with you,’ Peeta replies.”– “Catching Fire” by Suzanne Collins (highlighted by 8,500 Kindle users)

  6. “‘I wish I could freeze this moment, right here, right now, and live in it forever,’ he says.”– “Catching Fire” by Suzanne Collins (highlighted by 8,437 Kindle users)

  7. “Pride relates more to our opinion of ourselves, vanity to what we would have others think of us."– “Pride and Prejudice” by Jane Austen (highlighted by 8,437 Kindle users)

  8. “Life in District 12 isn’t really so different from life in the arena. At some point, you have to stop running and turn around and face whoever wants you dead.”– “Catching Fire” by Suzanne Collins (highlighted by 8,223 Kindle users)

  9. “‘Having an eye for beauty isn’t the same thing as a weakness,’ Peeta points out. ‘Except possibly when it comes to you.’”– “Catching Fire” by Suzanne Collins (highlighted by 7,900 Kindle users)

Photos Of The 5-Star Hotel Where The US Team Is Staying During The World Cup

us world cup team hotel 26

The United States men's national team is staying at the Tivoli Sao Pãulo Mofarrej during the World Cup.

The location is not ideal. The team booked its World Cup base in Sao Pãulo before it found out that it'd be playing in Natal, Manaus, and Recife. It now faces 8,900 miles of travel in the group stage alone.

Inconvenience aside, the hotel looks fantastic.

The Daily Mail ran a delightfully tabloid-y article on the digs entitled, "Who cares if they can't win: US soccer team arrives at luxury base ready to enjoy Michelin starred chef's food, calming Thai massages and a pool that appears to be filled with orange Fanta."

That is, obviously, overstated. But the five-star hotel is still one of the best in São Paulo, and the photos look gorgeous.

The lobby.

The hotel was recently renovated to give it a more modern look.

There's a 23rd-floor restaurant that overlooks the city.
