America's 11 Most Powerful Prison Gangs

$

gang

The cold-blooded assassinations of two Texas prosecutors, and their suspected link to the Aryan Brotherhood of Texas, have placed American prison gangs in the spotlight.

The drug war has caused the U.S. prison population to explode. Ironically, these groups fuel the drug trade from the inside.

We gathered information from the Department of Justice and gang expert and teacher Robert Walker to get an idea of who the baddest of the bad are.

Barrio Azteca (2,000 members)

One of America's most violent prison gangs, Barrio Azteca is most active in Texas prisons as well as communities in southwestern Texas and southeastern New Mexico.

Members are often linked to Mexican drug cartels, and the gang's main source of income is the smuggling of heroin, cocaine, and marijuana from Mexico into the U.S. for distribution both inside and outside the prison systems.

The gang has been tied to immigration smuggling, arson, assault, auto theft, burglary, extortion, intimidation, kidnapping, robbery, and weapons violations.

Black Guerrilla Family (about 1,000 identified gang members plus associates)

The Black Guerrilla Family was founded in 1966 in the California prison system by Black Panther George Jackson.

Highly organized with a supreme leader and a central committee, the group operates primarily in the states of California and Maryland promoting an anti-government philosophy.

The gang gets income from distributing cocaine and marijuana obtained from local Mexican drug traffickers, and it's also involved in auto theft, burglary, drive-by shootings, and homicide.

Dead Man Incorporated (370+ members and thousands of associates)

Three prison inmates created Dead Man Incorporated in the 1980s in the Maryland Division of Corrections.

One of the three founders, Perry Roark, tried to join the Black Guerrilla Family but was rejected and started his own gang.

In 2006, leadership told a member to begin recruiting in Virginia, so he assaulted a cop to get into the system. Dead Man has started swallowing up smaller gangs and is now one of the largest prison gangs in Maryland.

The gang is involved in murder-for-hire, acts of intimidation, violence, and drug distribution.

23 CEOs To Watch In 2014

$

tim cook apple

After what some would call a "lost year for tech," which also saw once-great American retailers fall from grace, we're thinking of 2014 as a glass-half-full kind of year.

Apple CEO Tim Cook has promised big reveals, which could include the launch of the iWatch. Google's Larry Page will likely continue to explore the "Internet of Things," scooping up start-ups along the way.

And there's really no telling what's up Elon Musk's sleeve.

Other companies will need saving, such as Eddie Lampert's Sears, which shuttered hundreds of stores and had net losses as high as $1.4 billion last year.

These 23 CEOs are leading companies on the brink of greatness, or extinction, and will be the ones to watch this year.

Disclosure: Jeff Bezos is an investor in Business Insider through his personal investment company Bezos Expeditions.

Mary Barra

General Motors

In December Barra was named Dan Akerson's replacement at the Detroit-based auto company. The 33-year veteran of GM will be the company's first female CEO, a huge leap forward in an industry historically dominated by men.

She already has major influence over the design, engineering, and quality of GM's vehicles, and has made noticeable improvements in both the internal structure of the company as well as its sales growth. With this kind of track record for success, she's likely to continue taking the company in the right direction.

Jeff Bezos

Amazon

There's a lot in store for Amazon this year: Not only is it planning to make deliveries on Sundays, it's also introducing a Netflix rival, Amazon Prime Instant Video, which will be cheaper than Netflix, comparable in terms of selection, and feature its own original programming.

Bezos is continually lauded for his "insane focus on the customer," a primary reason his company was the most highly regarded in 2013, according to the YouGov Brand Index. That, plus his ever-evolving visions for innovation, makes him a frontrunner for CEOs we can expect big things from.

Patrick Byrne

Overstock

Byrne made headlines over the summer by announcing that Overstock would start accepting the much buzzed-about digital currency Bitcoin as a form of payment in 2014, the first major online retailer to do so.

Byrne has already shown great follow-through on his plan to accept Bitcoin: he reached out to a Bitcoin payment processor immediately after the new year, and launched the new payment methods within a week, making good on his promise. More than 100 Bitcoin purchases, including some large ones, were made just two hours after the currency was accepted.

The 16 Most Creative Resumes We've Seen

Candy Resume

In a still-sluggish job market, for many people job hunting can be a frustrating series of nos and non-responses.

To combat that, many job seekers with coding and design experience go to extreme creative lengths to stand out and demonstrate their skills in a tangible way.

From designing a personal Amazon page complete with reviews to making a candy bar wrapper to showcase job skills, here are some of the most creative resumes we've ever seen.

Omondi Abudho designed a resume that folds into a box.

Abudho is a Kenyan art director and photographer who is well-known for his photography, but has also picked up quite a bit of attention for his resume.

He was inspired one day when he was making a routine purchase. "Believe it or not, I got the idea while buying a pack of coffee," he says. "Java Coffee, one of Kenya's best, to be exact."

He designed a resume that potential employers could cut out and fold into a box, complete with creative "nutrition" facts. The result was immediate. He got three good job offers from top agencies in Kenya. He's currently a creative partner at Scanad in Nairobi.

Simone Fortunini modeled his impressive resume after Google Analytics.

An Amazon online marketing manager, Fortunini created a resume that actually looks like a Google Analytics page.

Fortunini tells us that since his work involves online marketing and advertising campaigns, Google Analytics is a basic tool that those in his industry work with. He wanted to create a resume illustrating his understanding in online marketing, graphic design abilities, and HTML skills.

"My intent with this project is showing both sides of my professionality in digital: a good technological understanding and an online marketing knowledge," Fortunini says. "Trying to analyze my professional path like a 'web site performance' has been hard, but helpful to get an objective point of view about current achievements and future goals."

Under his "Experience" section, you can click on the different positions he's held on the left-hand side, which will then allow you to see more details about the projects he's worked on and the skills he developed in each position.

Kelly Weihs created a resume made to look like a Wild West wanted poster.

Weihs's resume stands out from the crowd thanks to its vintage, historical look.

"I wanted to have fun creating a resume that was different from everyone else," she says. "I love historically inspired design. For me, it's just a lot of fun to look to the past for ideas."

She applied to her current place of employment using this resume, and immediately saw results. "My current employer quite liked the resume," she says.

Honeycomb bahamas renderings

For wealthy New Yorkers accustomed to $10+ million urban homes, buying a Bahamas condo for $3 million doesn't seem so bad.

At least, that's what Danish architecture firm Bjarke Ingels Group (BIG) and real estate company Douglas Elliman are hoping.

They have teamed up on a gorgeous new project called the Honeycomb on the south coast of New Providence, named for its geometric and organic façade. The midrise condominium will face a marina and the ocean, and feature apartments ranging from two bedrooms to seven-bedroom penthouses.

The 34-unit complex is a part of a larger resort known as The Albany, a project developed by the Tavistock Group with investors such as Tiger Woods and Ernie Els, and would be the tallest building in the area, according to the press release.

“The idea with having Douglas Elliman on board is that the New York buyer hasn’t been addressed,” Horacio LeDon, a senior managing director at Douglas Elliman Development Marketing, told The New York Times. “Wealthy New Yorkers have been going down to the Bahamas for quite some time, and all without any proper marketing. We aim to change that.”

Compared to some Manhattan real estate, the condos are relatively cheap, costing roughly $1,600 to $1,700 per square foot after closing costs and other expenditures, according to The Times (that's a range of $3 million to $12.5 million). In Manhattan, square footage can go for many times that price.

Each apartment comes with an outdoor private terrace, as well as a pool. Honeycomb will break ground this summer, and opens in the first half of 2016.

A new midrise condominium in the Bahamas, the Honeycomb has 34 apartments with their own private terraces and pools.

The building will look out into the marina filled with yachts and towards the ocean.

Peyton Manning is one of the most likable athletes in professional sports so it is easy to overlook how insanely competitive he is both on and off the field.

It's that competitiveness that has him on the verge of winning his second Super Bowl and enhancing the claim that he is the greatest quarterback of all-time.

The intense anecdotes include cursing out opposing coaches, his sneaky first quarterbacks meeting in college, and his crazy work-ethic in high school.

Even when he gets a day off from practice to rest his ankle he still wears a helmet to listen to play calls and watches game film in the ice tub.

In high school, Peyton would practice at 4:30 or 5:00 every morning with his father, Archie Manning, and his brothers, Eli and Cooper.

An Anonymous Site Called 'Utopia' Is Replacing Silk Road As The Web's One-Stop Shop For Guns, Drugs, And Fake Money

Silk Road is certainly the most famous place online to buy your less-than-legal materials — the site operates on the TOR network, which anonymizes its traffic, and conducts all transactions in Bitcoin, the equally anonymous digital currency.

The site became even more famous after the arrest of Ross Ulbricht, the alleged owner and operator, who was charged with facilitating drug deals.

Now a new marketplace is up and running. It's called Utopia, and it has Silk Road users intrigued.

Users report that the site loads much more quickly than Silk Road (perhaps a function of it being a newer site not yet discovered by the swarm). Additionally, the site doesn't have the same CAPTCHA login error that's been driving Silk Road users nuts.

There are few differences of substance here. It's still a place to buy stuff when you don't want the seller (or parents, teachers, and law enforcement) to know who you are. Time will tell if it grows enough for Silk Road to feel any sort of pinch, or for law enforcement to take an interest.

In the meantime, here is what you can see on the site.

groundhog day

While most Americans rested up for the Super Bowl, rodent prognosticator Punxsutawney Phil was plucked from comfy hibernation to make his annual Groundhog Day call.

"A Super Bowl winner I will not predict, but my weather forecast you cannot contradict," said Phil (via an "Inner Circle" scroll-reader) to a crowd of some 25,000.

"Why that's not a football, but my shadow I see. It's six more weeks of winter. It must be!"

Locals in Punxsutawney, a small Pennsylvania town of 6,000, say that Groundhog Day has gotten more and more popular ever since the 1993 Bill Murray film bearing the same name.

Groundhog Day in Punxsutawney is equal parts prognostication and party, so we went to check it out.

Here's the main drag in downtown Punxsutawney. It's a five and a half hour drive from New York City. We arrived at 8:30 the night before Groundhog Day.

People were walking around downtown, eating at different food stands and shopping at merchandise tents.

You could make predictions for what Phil would say.

Driving a taxi in New York City gives a unique eye-level view of the daily lives of the city’s 8 million residents.

When David Bradford became a cab driver in the early ‘90s, he thought a view from the cab's window would make for fascinating photos. He was right.

“I couldn’t anticipate it, but once I was in the driver seat, I realized I had a front row seat to everything happening in New York,” Bradford told Business Insider.

He’s published two books, Drive By Shootings and The New York Taxi Back Seat Book. Check out more of his work here.

Bradford has been a cab driver for the last 20 years, but he started his career as an artist, attending the Rhode Island School of Design for Illustration.

Bradford was a skilled "blind contour illustrator," meaning he drew without looking. He says it was incredible training for photographing from the cab, where he has to often shoot without taking the time to compose.

After college, Bradford became an art director for Saks Fifth Avenue. After ten years at Saks, he decided he wanted to pursue his own art.

I Had My Face 'Morphed' By A Plastic Surgeon And Was Shocked By The Results

Side view BEFORE and AFTER Megan Plastic surgery

Plastic surgery can be a daunting process.

In addition to risks from anesthesia and botched procedures, patients are taking a major gamble that they will share the same aesthetic ideal with their plastic surgeon.

Enter visual surgery, or "morphing"— the use of technology during the consultation process so that the patient and doctor can agree ahead of time on the surgical end results.

I visited the plastic surgery office of Dr. Douglas Steinbrech in New York City, whose practice has been using morphing technology for the past seven years. I went to learn about the technology he uses to consult with patients -- I did not have any cosmetic procedures myself.

What Is "Morphing"?

In short, morphing is the use of image manipulation software to give patients an idea of what they will look like once their surgery is complete.

The surgery visualization has a few upsides, Dr. Steinbrech explained. First, patients can get an idea of what they will look like after the surgery, and decide if they want to go more or less extreme than they had originally planned.

"Patients tend to be more conservative," said Patient Coordinator Bernadette Mahoney. "I think a lot of it comes from anxiety, and not wanting to take it too far. But we've actually found that when patients don't go as extreme as they want, they often regret it."

The process also helps Dr. Steinbrech determine whether a potential patient is ready for cosmetic surgery. If a patient has unrealistic expectations, it can raise a red flag. He said he might then choose to provide the patient with information on body dysmorphic disorder (an illness in which individuals are excessively concerned with body image, specifically "defects" they perceive in their own personal appearance), or simply tell them that working together wouldn't be a good fit.

But the biggest upside of all, according to Dr. Steinbrech, is that he can use the "morphed" before and after photos to make sure the results are exactly what the patient wants.

"On the day of surgery, we review these images during prep with the patient, and that has helped me nail my results as I continue to check back with the technology during surgery," he said.

The strategy has been highly effective for his practice. "A normal conversion rate [from consult to surgery] for a plastic surgery office — and this is a good number — is about 30%," Dr. Steinbrech told us. "Our conversion rate is between 80 and 85%, which is extraordinary."

What that number tells Dr. Steinbrech and his team is that when patients see their potential end result, it encourages them to proceed with the surgery.

"From a business perspective, I'm surprised more offices don't use it," he said.

I Had My Face "Morphed," And It Was Pretty Stunning

Megan Willett before and after gif

In the GIF above, Dr. Steinbrech's alterations to my face are subtle yet transformational.

After I spoke with Dr. Steinbrech and his staff about the morphing, I had to see what it was like for myself.

The first step of the process was photographing my face. I sat in a chair, and Dr. Steinbrech's assistant Kelly took pictures of my relaxed face from virtually every angle, occasionally having me feign looks of surprise, anger, and happiness.

She transferred the photographs into the system, and then I met with the doctor himself (though a real patient would next meet with a patient coordinator and Dr. Steinbrech would do the final retouching on the images at a later consultation).

I was amazed at how small his tweaks were — a little pinch here, a little pull there. But when he showed me the before and after images of my face, I was stunned.

"Patients often tell me that I'm not making enough of a change," Dr. Steinbrech told me during the faux consultation. "But then I show them the 'before' and 'after' images on the screen, and they can't believe it. They start to envision themselves as the 'after' version as we go through the process."

Even as a mock patient, I can attest that this was true. I found myself thinking the changes weren't that major, but what I didn't realize was that my internal view of my face slowly changed as I watched the doctor slim down my neck and make my jawline more square. Then I would suddenly be jolted back when I saw the 'before' versions of my images, where my cheekbones weren't quite as pronounced or my jaw as defined.

My immediate reaction to my actual, un-retouched face was shock: "That's not me; that's not what I look like."

I was already self-identifying with the "after" version of my face, which was extremely unnerving. Psychologically speaking, the high conversion rate of Dr. Steinbrech's office started to make sense — his patients may have been ready to go under the knife after watching their pictures transform because in their minds, they already looked like the "after."

My visual surgery process took roughly 45 minutes, though the average morphing consultation can take much longer, and a real patient's face would be tweaked multiple times by both the patient coordinator and the doctor.

All in all, it was fascinating to watch Dr. Steinbrech at work. It was like watching an image of myself get worked over in Photoshop, except that this man had the power to change me in real life, too.

"I always under-promise and over-deliver," Dr. Steinbrech told me at the end of the day. "I would never show a patient something on the screen that couldn't be duplicated in real life. We have bones there for a reason!"

Note: I asked Dr. Steinbrech to show me what the following procedures would look like on my face. These are not representative of the procedures he would choose to do, and should not be taken as such.

"MODEL JAWLINE"Cheek and jaw Megan Plastic Surgery

Dr. Steinbrech is well-known for this procedure. He does a little supplemental liposuction on the neck and adds Juvederm (a hyaluronic acid) into the jaw and chin to make it more angular. He also gave me cheek augmentations using Juvederm to provide more definition.

Recovery time: Less than 24 hours for Juvederm, roughly a week for liposuction.

Cost: $2,300-$3,800

RHINOPLASTYCheek jaw nose Megan Plastic Surgery

The next procedure I asked to have virtually done was a nose job. Dr. Steinbrech gave me a "Heidi Klum" nose, which was slightly more narrow than my own.

Recovery time: Short-term recovery is roughly two weeks, but it may be several months before all swelling has subsided.

Cost: $7,500-$12,000

BROW LIFTCheek jaw nose brow Megan Plastic Surgery

Next, he showed me what I would look like with a very minor brow lift. "You don't want to go overboard here and look too surprised," he said.

Recovery time: One to two weeks, depending on the type of procedure (classic versus endoscopic) and personal healing time.

Cost: $5,000-$9,000

LIP INJECTIONSCheek jaw nose brow lips Megan Plastic Surgery

My upper lip is rather thin, so this procedure was more difficult for the doctor to show me on the computer. He made both lips slightly more plump, adding that it was important to keep the bottom lip fuller.

Recovery time: 10-14 days before swelling and bruising goes down.

Cost: $700-$2,300

JUVEDERM FILLERFinal slide with injections Megan Plastic Surgery

For the final product, Dr. Steinbrech added fillers to my under-eye area and laugh lines to make my skin more even.

Recovery time: Less than 24 hours.

Cost: $1,500

THE FINAL RESULTSBEFORE and AFTER Megan Plastic Surgery

All those minor tweaks really added up. Here are my before and after pictures. Total cost for all this surgery? Between $17,000 and $27,600.

RANKED: The Best Smartphones In The World Right Now (VZ, T, DT, S)

Sony Xperia Z1s

It's a new year, and we're on the cusp of another major smartphone release cycle.

In the meantime, we've already seen a few new phones come out like Sony's waterproof Z1S and LG's curved-screen G Flex. Here's a look at the best phones you can buy right now.

Note: We update this list approximately once a month. We skipped January because there weren't any major new smartphone launches. Our rankings are based on a variety of factors including design, software and hardware features, content selection, carrier availability, and price. We only consider phones that are on sale in the U.S. at the time of publication. You can see December's smartphone rankings here.

#16 BlackBerry Q10

If you absolutely must have a phone with a physical keyboard, the BlackBerry Q10 is your best (and pretty much only) option.

Like the Z10, the Q10 runs the new BlackBerry 10 operating system. The phone is great for those who want an old-school look and feel. However, the only reason to buy this phone is for the keyboard. There are far better options out there.

Click here for the BlackBerry Q10 review >>

Price: $0 on AT&T, $49.99 on Verizon, $0 down plus $16 per month for 24 months on T-Mobile, $149.99 on Sprint

#15 LG G Flex

LG released the first-ever curved screen phone, the G Flex, in the U.S. this month. The G Flex has a large, 6-inch curved screen and a self-healing backing that can repair itself from minor scratches.

Unfortunately, LG had to make a few compromises to get that curved screen on the device. The resolution is a lot lower than Apple and Samsung phones, so images, text, and video look very grainy in comparison. LG's user interface for Android is also unattractive and buggy.

Click here for the LG G Flex review >>

Price: $299.99 on AT&T and Sprint. $0 down plus 28 per month for 24 months on T-Mobile. (Available in early February.)

#14 HTC One Max

The HTC One Max is HTC's first ever phablet. It has a 5.9-inch screen and looks like a jumbo-sized version of the company's flagship HTC One phone. It also has a fingerprint sensor on the back so you can unlock the phone without a passcode.

However, it's very thick and heavy compared to other phablets, which will probably be a turn off for a lot of people.

Price: $299.99 on Verizon, $249.99 on Sprint.

Here's The 'Cheap' New Car Maserati Advertised During The Super Bowl

maserati ghibli

Maserati created some buzz Sunday night with an unusually cinematic 90-second commercial during the Super Bowl, advertising its new sedan.

The sporty Ghibli is similarly unusual. The top of the line version will go from 0 to 62 mph in 5 seconds, hit a top speed of 176 mph, and is filled will fancy leather.

But the most remarkable thing about the all-new model is the base price: $65,600.

That makes it the least expensive Maserati by about $40,000, and marks the luxury brand's entrance into a segment dominated by cars like the Audi A7, Porsche Panamera, Mercedes-Benz CLS, and BMW 6-Series.

Maserati's sales jumped 75% from 2012 to 2013, according to Forbes, and the Ghibli is part of the plan to keep that growth going.

For those interested in what Maserati offers for that "affordable" price, here's a look at the Ghibli.

The Ghibli made its American debut at the 2013 Los Angeles Auto Show.

It's smaller, shorter, and lighter than Maserati's other four-door sedan, the flagship Quattroporte.

The four door sedan has a "coupe-like" appearance, Maserati says. That gives it a sportier look.

Facebook turns 1o tomorrow. Who were the people behind Facebook back then, when it was just a startup?

How did they find Facebook in 2004, and where are the first 20 employees now?

Many of Facebook's first employees are no longer at the company. Some left to join other successful tech companies like Playdom and Twitter. Others started their own companies like Quora, Asana and YouTube.

Those who remained at Facebook now have executive positions. Many of them are now absurdly rich.

Out of the first 20 employees, only two were women.

A Pizza Expert Shares 8 Tips For Making The Perfect Pie At Home

Americans eat pizza at least once a week, according to Zagat's 2013 pizza week survey. That's a lot of pies.

To help satisfy that weekly craving, we checked in with the six-time World Champion pizza chef Bruno Di Fabio to get some tips for making the perfect pizza at home.

Di Fabio has been developing pizza dough recipes for the past 10 years of his 30-year career, and he was recently featured as a guest judge on a pizza episode of the Food Network's new season of "Chopped."

Check out his eight hacks for making a perfect pizza.

Add Warm Water And More Yeast Into The Dough

Heat water to reach between 95 and 115 degrees Fahrenheit before adding it to the rest of the ingredients for your pizza dough. Also, add about 3/4 of a teaspoon more yeast than the recipe calls for. The warmer water and higher amount of yeast will help the dough rise more quickly so it'll be ready to cook sooner.

Di Fabio says yeast performs at its most optimal levels around 85 degrees.

Substitute Milk For Hard Or Soft Water

Hard water (with excessive calcium carbonate content) is bad for pizza dough because it impedes the fermentation process that allows the dough to rise. On the other hand, soft water (with minimal mineral content) is bad because it yields soft and sticky dough. If you know your area has either one of these water tendencies, replace the water in the recipe with milk for dough that will rise nicely and be easy to work into a pie shape.

"I use condensed milk in some recipes to give the dough a subtle sweetness," Di Fabio said.

Fold In Extra Ingredients

After the dough is largely mixed, some people like to add personalized seasonings like oil, salt, sugar, herbs or spices. The best way to evenly incorporate these finishing touches is by using your fist to carve what Di Fabio describes as "a well" into the dough.

Drop the extras into the well and fold them into the dough so they mix together from the inside out. "It helps you get the exact amount of an ingredient incorporated into the dough, instead of it spilling off the surface," Di Fabio said.

He also advised against over-mixing the dough. Folding adds friction, which in turn adds degrees of heat to the final product. Di Fabio said too much heat makes the protein strands in the flour too stiff, so it's harder to stretch the dough out.

Drizzle Olive Oil Into The Bowl The Dough Rises In

Not only will the olive oil keep the dough from sticking to the bowl while it rises, it also adds elasticity to the dough so it will be easier to roll into a ball then flatten into a pie.

Also, be sure to cover the bowl with a dish cloth while it rises. You don't want a completely air-tight seal.

Sprinkle Semolina Over Your Prep Area

According to Di Fabio, using too much flour can actually detract from the pizza's flavor, so it's best to avoid over sprinkling flour on the counter to keep the dough from sticking.

To compensate, add semolina to the mix — you know it as the coarse, white grains coating the bottom of your pizza at a pizzeria.

"It adds texture and flavor for a crispier crust," Di Fabio said.

Cover The Dough With Plastic Wrap After You Roll It Out

The yeast is still active in the dough even after it rises. When you roll the dough into a pie shape, you push out the carbon dioxide it developed while it rose.

For a crust with a puffier texture, Di Fabio recommends laying the dough in a steel pan and covering it with plastic wrap to let it rise again. The air-tight seal traps some heat and prevents a rough skin from developing on the dough.

Bake The Pizza On A Cookie Sheet

Pizzas cook unevenly in an oven. That's why an inexperienced chef will often make a pie with a ghostly white bottom or an overdone top. Some home cooks alleviate the problem by moving the pizza to different levels of the oven during the cooking process, but it's easier just to get a home pizza stone made of ceramic firebricks or terracotta.

Pre-heat the oven with the stone inside so its surface temperature is the same as the oven. "Giving a pizza bottom heat at the same time as top heat cooks it evenly and more quickly," Di Fabio explained.

You can also approximate a pizza stone by rolling the dough out on a cookie sheet that's been coated with a teaspoon of olive oil and a sprinkling of flour and semolina to prevent the dough from sticking.

Follow The Rule Of Thirds

Di Fabio's pet peeve is over-topping a pizza. He likes to choose a maximum of three ingredients that pair well with one another (not including the sauce and the cheese).

Staying simple in the toppings department also helps the natural flavor of the dough and tomato sauce shine through, which will leave the biggest impression on the eater.

The San Francisco home of Richard Thalheimer, founder and former CEO of The Sharper Image, has nearly everything you would expect from the domain of a tech mogul.

Touch-screen monitors in each room control the home's sound system, security cameras, and window treatments. Nine flatscreen TVs situated throughout the house mean that you can get a high-definition movie experience in almost every room, and an internal elevator provides easy access to all three floors. There's even a C-3PO statue in the living room.

The 7,750-square-foot home is located just off San Francisco's Billionaire's Row, where Oracle's Larry Ellison, Apple's Jonathan Ive, and Zynga's Mark Pincus all own homes.

After initially hitting the market for $11.95 million in October 2013, the home is asking $1 million less. It's now listed for $10.95 million, Curbed SF reports.

The Mediterranean-style home was built in the 1920s and renovated in 2004.

The São Paulo, Brazil, headquarters of Walmart.com— full of beach chairs, game rooms and a rooftop golf course — recently won ArchDaily's Building of The Year award for best interior architecture.

The architecture news website had its readers vote for the best buildings in 14 categories, choosing from hundreds of spaces constructed in 2013.

Brazilian architects at Estudio Guto Requena designed the Walmart office based on interviews with company employees, who answered questions about digital culture, the Walmart.com brand and Brazilian identity. That led to an office filled with primary colors and inspired by the outdoors.

The Walmart.com headquarters in São Paulo occupies five floors and close to 11,000 square feet.

Each floor has a different color scheme. The yellow floor has Walmart's logo hanging from the ceiling.

Each floor uses a different predominant wood: Pine, OSB, Eucalyptus or Masisa Zurich.
