The 14 British companies with the best interview processes

LONDON — Getting a job almost always requires at least one interview, and for any high-level or important job, candidates will likely have to go through several rounds of quizzing before getting an offer.

No one likes being interviewed. It's nerve wracking, time-consuming, and for the most part, a pretty bad way to get across how good you are as a candidate. Some companies, however, do a better job than others when it comes to the interview process.

To find out which firms in the UK do the best job of vetting candidates, jobs site Glassdoor scoured through reviews from candidates as well as interviews questions to see where job-seekers think they get the best chance to show off their skills.

"The interview process is the gateway experience that employers have with a candidate, and you only get one chance to make a great first impression," Glassdoor's chief HR officer Carmel Galvin said in a statement.

"These employers stand out from the rest for offering a best in class candidate experience that is vital to turning quality candidates into amazing employees."

Check out the top employers, all of whom got an average feedback score of 75% or more.

T13. EE — 76% positive rating from candidates

What they do: Mobile network

Average interview process length:9 days

Interview difficulty: 3.0 out of 5

What employees say: "The interview was in three parts - the first involved a data case study as it was an analytical role. I was left with a case study to work through and present back after 30 minutes. The second part involved your usual competency questions that you find in many interviews although they tried their best to align them with EE 'values.' The third and final part was a quick technical coding quiz."

"I withdrew from the process after the interview despite being successful. The hiring manager made me feel awkward and uncomfortable and they did not share my enthusiasm for discussing my questions and views in the time at the end of the interview for questions about the role/company which really put me off.

"EE have some way to go to catch up with the chilled out, innovative and enthusiastic working cultures of competitors like O2 and Vodafone."

"One final thing I would add is that whilst the process was fast for me it would have been very unreasonable if I wasn’t already on annual leave on one of the dates they gave me for interview slots. They will expect you to be able to take time off work on a whim with a day or two notice."— Anonymous Employee (London, England)

T13. IKEA — 76%

What they do: Mobile network

Average interview process length: 9 days

Interview difficulty: 3.0 out of 5

What employees say: "Around 30 people on assessment, which was divided into smaller groups later on. We were given different types of activities to show off how you worked in a team, how creative you are with using certain products etc.

"After all that, every person was interviewed by managers. Very nice atmosphere without “pushing,” so you can just be yourself. All took around 2 hours."— Anonymous Reviewer (London, England)

12. Expedia — 77%

What they do: Travel search engine

Average interview process length: 33 days

Interview difficulty: 3.1 out of 5

What employees say: "Applied on the Expedia career website. Started with a recruiting manager arranging a screening call asking very brief details about experience & tech stacks that I've used.

"Followed by two software developers calling a week later for a first telephone interview where they asked me about the projects I've worked on, why I would like to work for Expedia, and why I want to leave my current position. This then leed to an interview in the Expedia offices with an hour of questions from a backend dev, an hour of questions from a frontend dev, and an hour of conversation about tech with the manager of the whole team. — Anonymous Employee (London, England)

Several CEOs are voicing the same complaint about one of Trump's biggest brags (HLT, MET, JPM, ACN, OMC, VTR)

Trump

President Donald Trump likes to tout the fact that business and consumer confidence surged after his election.

But the CEOs of several large companies have the same grievance: They aren't seeing consumers spending much more, and can't yet proceed with major investments.

That's according to transcripts of several second-quarter earnings calls parsed by Goldman Sachs.

"Most executives note that they haven’t seen an appreciable increase in customer activity despite improving sentiment," said David Kostin, Goldman's chief US equity strategist, in the firm's quarterly Beige Book of CEO commentary.

For business owners, Trump was supposed to be the deregulatory president. The National Federation of Independent Businesses reported that the surge in its members' optimism was comparable to 1983, when the economy was emerging from a recession under President Ronald Reagan.

But business leaders are also frustrated with the slow pace of progress in Washington. Trump's domestic agenda primarily for healthcare and tax reform has stalled amid divisions within the Republican party and the Russia investigation.

Here are some remarks from earnings calls (emphasis added):

JPMorgan

"I don’t buy the argument that we’ll [be] relegated to this forever. We’re not. If this administration can make breakthroughs in taxes and infrastructure, regulatory reform, we have become one of the most bureaucratic, confusing, litigious societies on the planet. It’s almost an embarrassment being an American citizen traveling around the world and listening to the stupid s--- we have to deal with in this country."

Hilton Worldwide Holdings

"Looking forward, expectations for macro indicators such as GDP growth and non-residential fixed investment growth suggest continued improvement. But so far, we have not seen that translate into increased demand."

MetLife

"Although interest rates are higher than they were a year ago, we have not experienced the rise in rates that many predicted after the U.S. presidential election. While I still believe that monetary policy is keeping rates artificially low, I also believe that elected officials need to do more on the fiscal policy front, especially through tax reform, to spur faster economic growth."

RANKED: The 21 best heist movies of all time

Logan Lucky 3 Fingerprint Releasing final

There's something about a good heist movie that makes going to the multiplex worthwhile.

With the high stakes, and the top-shelf actors and directors who seem to gravitate to the genre, when it's done right, it can be a thrilling cinematic experience.

As Steven Soderbergh dives back into the genre with the excellent "Logan Lucky" on Friday (in which Channing Tatum, Adam Driver, and Daniel Craig try to rob a NASCAR race), we thought it was a good time to look back on the classics of the genre.

Here are the 21 best heist movies of all time, ranked:

SEE ALSO: Steven Soderbergh has a new plan to make Hollywood movies outside the control of big studios

21. "A Fish Called Wanda"

John Cleese, Jamie Lee Curtis, Kevin Kline, and Michael Palin play a bumbling group who commit a robbery of very pricey diamonds and then try to con one another out of the loot. Cleese and Palin are at top form, and Kline's portrayal of a cocky American earned him an Oscar win for best supporting actor.

20. “Mission: Impossible”

Though Tom Cruise's first time playing Ethan Hunt showed off all of the fun spy aspects of the franchise, it also had a very elaborate heist element. Hunt breaking into CIA headquarters to steal the "NOC" list is a highlight of the film.

19. “Bottle Rocket”

For Wes Anderson's directorial debut, he cast then-unknown brothers Luke and Owen Wilson as friends who plan the heist of a factory only for things to go horribly wrong.

15 things you can do today to get up earlier tomorrow

Woman runs early in the morning

Not everyone is a morning person.

And that's okay — it depends a lot on your biological predisposition, and there's no proof that morning birds are more successful than night owls.

But if you're finding that you're consistently late for work or skipping workouts, or if you're generally feeling like you don't have enough time in the day, you might want to consider moving back your wake-up time a little.

Lots of people have tried it, and have shared the tips and tricks that worked for them. Business Insider browsed a bunch of QuoraandReddit threads and rounded up the most creative strategies we found below.

Try them all and see what helps you — we promise it won't be as horrible as you're anticipating.

SEE ALSO: 7 things not to do when you first wake up

Limit your caffeine intake in the late afternoon and evening

"Some people are extremely sensitive to caffeine,"says Quora user Kevin Jon, "and don't understand how it can still keep them awake much later."

One study found that consuming 400 milligrams of caffeine — that's about how much is in a Starbucks Venti coffee — even six hours before bedtime disrupted sleep. Specifically, those who consumed a caffeine pill six hours before bed slept about an hour less than they slept when they didn't consume caffeine.

The researchers suggest that people limit their caffeine consumption to before 5 p.m. at the latest. You can do your own experiment to see if cutting yourself off earlier helps you get a better night's rest and wake up feeling rejuvenated.

Take on the responsibility of waking someone else

That's a suggestion from Quora user Shikhar Gupta.

So tell your best friend or your brother that you'll be their human alarm clock by calling them when they're supposed to get up. That way, you'll be sabotaging someone else's success when you oversleep, giving you an even more pressing reason to get out of bed.

Set a bedtime alarm

It can take a lot of willpower to say to yourself, "I need to be up in eight hours. So I'm going to bed right now."

To make that behavior easier, Quora user Ben Mordecai says, "you just need to set an alarm both for when you want to wake up and when you will need to start going to bed."

The bedtime alarm won't necessarily force you to start putting on pajamas, but it will jolt you out of whatever non-sleeping activity you're currently doing, like browsing your Facebook News Feed.

7 easy steps to shopping with confidence on eBay

The Insider Picks team writes about stuff we think you’ll like. Business Insider has affiliate partnerships, so we get a share of the revenue from your purchase.

eBay shopping guideWe live in an age where you can make purchases at the click of button without ever stepping foot inside of a store, and eBay is the perfect place to do just that.

With an immense marketplace, eBay has just about anything that you could possibly be looking for. Whether you're shopping for something as simple as new dress socks or on the hunt for something as specific as a vintage jacket from your favorite brand, eBay is the perfect place to look.

Despite the convenience of being able to get everything you need and want from the comfort of your home — or wherever you may be — online shopping can still prove to be a bit daunting, especially when it comes to eBay. Being wary about how to navigate the website, distinguishing reputable sellers, and making safe and secure purchases might've caused you to stay away in the past, but now you can shop with confidence.

As an avid user, I've bought everything from car parts to clothes, shoes, and electronics on eBay and you can, too. You probably already have an item in mind that you're planning to buy soon, so instead of going to the store, make your next purchase on eBay.

Check out seven easy steps to shopping with confidence on eBay, below:

SEE ALSO: 16 ways to get free money from Amazon right now

Find the perfect item.

eBay's home page has specific categories, as well as suggestions that will help you find the items you're looking for. No matter what you're looking for, you'll be able to narrow your search by filtering a plethora of applicable fields. If you know exactly what you're looking for, use the search bar to enter keywords such as the year, size, color, or even SKU of the item.

Keep looking for the right deal.

Shop around! You don't have to jump on the first thing you see. eBay is a huge marketplace, so it’s very likely that you’ll find more than one of what you’re looking for. Some items might be cheaper, in better condition, or take less time to be delivered, so it’s worth checking out everything listed before making a purchase.

Be a smart shopper. If it looks too good to be true, then it probably is!

That’s not to say truly amazing deals can’t be found on eBay all the time, but if you run across an item that’s drastically underpriced, be alarmed. For example, a $50 MacBook or a $20 iPhone 7 Plus are items you should probably avoid. Also, read the listing carefully. You might actually be buying a picture of the item like this guy did.

'Game of Thrones' cinematographer describes shooting that battle of roasting Lannisters, including trouble with an HBO safety officer

Eastwatch tyrion jaime

Warning: Spoilers for "Game of Thrones" season seven. If you aren't caught up on the series, read at your own risk.

Remember when Daenerys rode Drogon and fried the Lannister army? That battle sequence was inspired by "Apocalypse Now."

Business Insider recently talked to Robert McLachlan, a “Game of Thrones” cinematographer who worked on season seven episodes “The Spoils of War“ and “Eastwatch.”

McLachlan talked about why he loves working with smoke, what inspired the look and feel of the Loot Train Attack, and why a health and safety officer had to interfere with production. He also told us about a simply lit scene from “Eastwatch” that he is obsessed with.

Beyond this season, McLachlan has worked on other big "Game of Thrones" episodes including season three's "The Rains of Castamere" and "Mhysa," as well as season five's "The Dance of Dragons" and "Mother's Mercy."

McLachlan talked about what it was like to shoot such an epic battle sequence for one of the biggest shows on television:

SEE ALSO: Who was the smartest, dumbest, luckiest, and most emotional this week on 'Game of Thrones'

"My initial reaction after reading the outline of this [Loot Train] battle was, 'Oh boy, this is not gonna happen quickly.'"

"My other thought was, 'We're gonna need lots of cuts and shots.' It's a really daunting action sequence. This battle is massive, so it was important to keep the momentum. We were also under a lot of pressure, since the Battle of the Bastards was one of the best battles ever filmed, including television and movies."

"Our biggest enemy and our biggest ally is mother nature."

"For cinematographers, consistency often measures the quality of our work. So thank goodness there was smoke involved. Smoke helps with consistency when you're shooting exteriors, but I also love the way it looks, especially with the sun shining behind it."

"For inspiration and reference, director Matt Shakman and I looked at the Napalm scene in 'Apocalypse Now' and 'Saving Private Ryan.'"

McLachlan and Shakman wanted the brutality of the battle to feel realistic.

Hope Hicks, 28, was born in Greenwich, a town of 60,000 on the southwest tip of Connecticut that's a favorite spot for hedge fund headquarters.

She was a model, actress, and lacrosse player as a child, before getting her English degree at Southern Methodist University.

Hicks didn't intend on playing such a large role in a presidential campaign, instead falling into the gig through a job at the Trump Organization.

But she now finds herself as one of President Donald Trump's youngest advisers, apparently serving as his new communications director in the White House.

And Hicks has been with Trump — to use his words — "from the beginning." She stuck on his campaign through multiple staff revamps, including two high-profile changes at the campaign-chair position.

Here's what we know about Hicks.

The most shocking allegations of what it's like for children in Scientology, according to Leah Remini's show

$

Leah Remini Scientology and the Aftermath season 2 premiere ae.PNG

Leah Remini continues her quest to expose the truth about her former religion, Scientology, on the second season of her A&E series, "Leah Remini: Scientology and the Aftermath."

On the hit docuseries, Remini set out to document the stories of alleged abuse from former Scientologists, including her own 30-year experience belonging to the organization.

"I can't let the church continue to abuse people and take their money and their lives," Remini said at the beginning of Tuesday's second season premiere episode. "For some reason, I believe that I am the person to help to make it right."

The premiere episode focused on what it's like to grow up in the church and the child sexual abuse allegations of two former members: childhood best friends Saina Kamula and Mirriam Francis. The two women detailed their experiences being born into and being raised in the church, including their accusations of sexual abuse that were allegedly ignored by Scientology.

Scientology declined to take part in the series. It said the statements Remini and the other contributors to the show have made about Scientology are false and driven by a desire to profit or gain publicity from their time in the religion.

Here are the most shocking allegations about growing up in Scientology from the season two premiere:

The church has little regard for children's relationships with their parents and other family members, Remini said.

Remini said that the belief in reincarnation means Scientology places very little significance on family relationships and marriages — a person's mother is just their mother currently, and the child has many, many mothers over the span of their life.

"Scientologists believe that children are old spirits in little bodies, that they've lived before and they're going to live again," she said. "Why is that dangerous? That's a dangerous concept, because then there's no ownership. You learn that yes, your daughter is your daughter this lifetime, but maybe she was your mother last lifetime and she might be your husband another lifetime."

Under this belief, children are allegedly separated from their parents and have very little contact with them as the children are educated in Scientology at various locations. This is especially true of the children of Sea Org members, an elite group of Scientologists, according to the show.

"I had two children born into the Sea Organization," said Mike Rinder, Scientology's former international spokesman and a frequent contributor to the A&E show. "They were not cared for by me. I didn't house them, I didn't school them, I didn't provide them with anything. When they do videos today saying what a rotten father I was, they're right, I was. I was a Sea Org father."

Scientology enforces a culture of victim blaming in situations of child abuse.

Francis alleged that her father sexually abused her off and on for a period between the ages of 3 to 7 years old in Sydney – her mother was away working for the Sea Org in Los Angeles for nearly two years.

During sessions with an E-meter, the machine Scientologists believe can read when a person is experiencing distress, Francis confessed that she was being sexually abused. She said that when she told them it was her father, she was labeled as a "trouble source" and that there was a "suppressive person"— someone considered an enemy of the church — making her say those things. They disregarded her accusations against her father, she said, because he was a member the Sea Org.

"That is what's so crazy," Remini said. "A little girl is saying, 'My dad is hurting me,' and they're saying, 'Go f--- yourself.'"

Having moved to LA from Sweden, Kamula knew very little English and said she was often bullied by the other children. She found solace in a teacher who offered her a space to play computer games in a room away from others. But his kindness allegedly turned ugly when it progressed to "grinding and rubbing,""tight hugs," and "kisses on the neck," according to Kamula.

She said that at one point, the teacher locked the doors.

"I knew what he wanted and I didn't want that and I froze," she said. "No penetration, but I just remember his red, panting face just making God-awful sounds."

Kamula said she later told another teacher about the abuse and was accused of criticizing an elite Sea Org member and was told that she had to make amends to her alleged abuser.

"I realized there's nothing I can do," Kamula said.

Part of Scientology's culture of victim-blaming allegedly includes labeling the accuser of being "counter-intention."

When Kamula told her mother about the alleged abuse, she said she was told that she was being "counter-intention" to her mother's goals as a Scientologist.

"You're taught pretty early on in Scientology that there's an intention and the intention is to clear the planet," Remini explained. "And that is the most important thing that you are doing, Anything that doesn't contribute to that intention is considered counter-intention. If you're 'being a child,' you're being counter-intention. If you want your mommy or daddy, you're being counter-intention."

Inside 5 Hertford Street, an exclusive London members' club so secretive it won't even reveal the cost of a membership

The London private members club scene is arguably the most prestigious in the world.

Earlier this year Business Insider compiled a ranking of the capital's most exclusive members' clubs, and found that one was particularly intriguing.

5 Hertford Street is so exclusive that it declined to give even a ballpark indication on the cost of membership.

We were instead sent one photo of the bar at its downstairs nightclub called LouLou's, which only left us wanting to see more of what actually goes on down there.

Its Instagram account is also private. But after some digging, we've managed to put together a rare glimpse behind the scenes at the only members' club for those in the know, including Lupita Nyong'o, George and Amal Clooney, Mick Jagger and Leonardo DiCaprio when they're in London, as well as young royals Prince William and Princess Eugenie.

So if you're curious as to where the young, rich, beautiful and connected head to after hours, keep scrollin'.

Perched on the corner of Shepherds market, in London's Mayfair, behind an unmarked maroon door sits this secretive and exclusive private members' club. Royals, billionaires, and A-listers are all known to frequent the club — when they can get a reservation.

It's owned by Robin Birley an English businessman the son of Lady Annabel Goldsmith and night club owner Mark Birley. Birley, who has now also inherited his father's private members' club Annabel's, also owns the upmarket sandwich chain Birleys.

Step inside and you will find quintessentially English clashing patterns and prints on the carpets and walls — the club's trademark style — reminiscent of an eccentric upper-class country home. Fashion designer Rifat Ozbek is behind its boho-chic interior.

The best men's wallets you can buy

$

The Insider Picks team writes about stuff we think you'll like. Business Insider has affiliate partnerships, so we get a share of the revenue from your purchase.

wallet 4x3

The Insider Pick:

  • Whether you need to carry a ton of cash or prefer mostly cards, Insider Picks has you covered with our guide to the best men’s wallets. While our favorite is the Bellroy Slim Sleeve, each wallet on this list fits the bill as one of the best wallets.

I’ve always been obsessed with finding the “perfect” thing. Whether it’s travel shoes, credit cards, flashlights or something else, I’ve always tried out different versions of each one, returning and getting the next one on my list until I found what best fit my needs and preferences.

Wallets are no exception. I think I’ve tried out more wallets than I can count. To be fair, it’s hard to find a “perfect” wallet for every situation. In the winter when you’re wearing a heavy coat, you can keep a hefty wallet in a breast pocket, while in the summer you need something that can fit in the pocket of a pair of jeans or shorts. If you’re going to a wedding or meeting, you might want something that keeps a slim profile in a suit, while you might also need something that can fit cash for tipping at a bar or valet. And of course, you want to avoid being the next George Costanza.

Meanwhile, where you live, work, and how you commute can make a big difference, too. Do you feel comfortable keeping your wallet in a back pocket, or do you worry about pickpockets? If you live in a city with a metro or commuter rail, do you need something that lets you have quick access to a transit card? Do you travel internationally a lot and need something that can fit foreign currency?

Insider Picks’ choice for the number one wallet is the Bellroy Slim Sleeve. Of course, we realize that different people have different needs, so we’ve researched and tested plenty of other options. Below, take a look at the best men’s wallets you can find for less than $100. We’ve listed choices for all kinds of users, including subway commuters, people who don’t use cash that often, and people who want to go full-minimalist with a money clip.

Although the Bellroy Slim Sleeve is our top pick, for various reasons laid out in the slides below, you should also consider the Nomanic BASICS, the Rogue Industries Front Pocket Wallet, the Saddleback Front Pocket wallet, and the M-Clip V Series Money Clip.

The best men's wallet overall

Why you'll love it: The gorgeous Bellroy Slim Sleeve Wallet fits everything you need in a slim, efficient profile.

Bellroy is a relatively young company that released its first product in 2010. Founded by a few friends in Australia who set out to design optimal wallets in terms of size and card positioning, Bellroy has since released several different series of wallets for just about any use. You may remember seeing some of those wallets mentioned on Insider Picks before.

The Slim Sleeve is the perfect example of the company’s design mission. The wallet is built using Bellroy’s “nude” approach, focusing on eliminating as much excess material as possible to keep the profile slim. There are no buckles, trimmings, snaps, buttons or fasteners. The only materials are leather and thread, with as little of each used as possible.

The Slim Sleeve is a bifold that can hold up to 12 cards plus cash. It has a total of four pockets: three for cards, one for bills. Two quick access card slots sit inside the wallet, visible when you just open it. Those slots are perfect for your everyday credit card or commuter pass — I can pull my Metrocard out without having to take the wallet out of my pocket. The third card pocket sits behind the right-side quick access card

The third card pocket sits behind the right-side quick access card slot and is perfect for less-frequently used cards like an ID, an ATM card, or a couple of backup credit cards. The cards are tucked away out of sight in this pocket, so a pull-tab helps pull them out. Behind the other quick access slot, a cash pocket has plenty of room for bills folded in half or thirds.

As far as materials go, the Slim Sleeve is excellent. Bellroy is a certified “B Corp,” a designation given to companies that meet rigorous standards for “social and environmental performance.” What this means is that Bellroy sources its leather and materials ethically and sustainably. The leather is high-quality top grain, soft yet sturdy, and comes in several different colors.

While the top review on Amazon suggests that there are quality issues, several members of the Insider Picks team, including myself, have been using the Bellroy Slim Sleeve as a go-to wallet for months or years without a problem. That, combined with the fact that the wallet has 4.5 stars over all and overwhelmingly positive reviews, suggests that the one user's experience may have been an anomaly.

Pros: Slim, sleek, holds a lot, ethically sourced leather, simple design

Cons: You have to fold bills to fit them in

The best minimalist wallet

Why you'll love it: The Nomanic BASICS uses a clever design to hold the basics, takes up as little space as possible, and keeps the essentials easy-to-reach.

Nomantic got its start on Kickstarter when cousins Jon Richards and Jacob Durham designed their minimalist wallet and crowdfunded its production in 2014. The Kickstarter campaign was a runaway success, and they met their fundraising goal of $10,000 in just a few days. By the end of the 30 day pledge period, Richards and Durham had more than 6,100 backers pledging $171,315. Since then, Nomantic has evolved to offer a few different products, as well as expand production.

The BASICS wallet has a little more going on than its name might suggest. Built from medical-grade elastic and canvas, it doesn’t even look like it can hold a credit card until you stretch it to fit. When it’s empty, the wallet looks more or less like a small fabric pouch, with openings on both sides and a pull tab sticking up.

There’s a main pocket on top that can fit a stack of credit cards and it's easily accessible by using the pull tab. When you flip the wallet, there’s a second pocket for more cards. Next to that slot, there’s a smaller, hidden pocket which can be used for cash that's been folded twice or a small object like a key or a few coins.

The key to this wallet is how you load it. Nomantic actually made a video showing you the most efficient way to use it. In each of the two card pockets, it’s best to keep your most used cards on the outsides of the stack of cards. That way, you can get to them quickest.

It’s worth keeping in mind that the bottom pocket — the one without the pull tab — is easier to get to. When I use this wallet, I put my Metrocard and main credit card in this slot. The wallet holds up to 15 cards, and Nomantic suggests putting at least four cards in it so that everything stays secure.

While it’s not as minimalist as using a money clip, the package is actually a bit smaller, since you fold bills in half twice when you put them in.

Pros: Minimalist, holds a lot considering it’s size, fun colors, easy access with pull tab

Cons: Only holds a little bit of cash, which has to be folded twice

Buy the Nomantic BASICS on Amazon for $19.99

The best wallet for cash

Why you'll love it: The Rogue Industries front pocket wallet is the same shape as a jeans pocket, so it's comfortable to carry and has a low-profile.

When you first see the Rogue Industries front pocket wallet, you might be a little taken aback. It looks a little bit like a fin or flipper, rather than a wallet. That’s because Rogue Industries designed it to fit perfectly in the front pocket of your favorite pair of jeans. Go ahead and put it in your pocket pointing down — you’ll see.

Unlike many other front-pocket or minimalist wallets, the Rogue front pocket has a full-sized compartment for cash, meaning you don’t have to fold bills before putting them in. This is a big factor to consider. It’s always annoying to have to unfold each bill individually and count them up at the register, especially if there’s a long line behind you.

Because it's a bifold, the wallet has three credit card slots on one side when it’s open and an ID window on the opposite side. Each card slot is designed to hold up to two cards. You can always squeeze more in, but the wallet may become stretched out, misshapen, or not close properly.

One nice thing about the Rogue Industries wallet is that it’s available in a ton of different styles. There are several different kinds of leather, including bison and alligator, and it also comes in nylon. Many of the choices come with an RFID-blocking material integrated into the construction. Once you’ve settled on a material, there are plenty of color options, too.

Pros: Fits comfortably in front pocket, can fit cash without having to fold it

Cons: Relatively limited space for cards

Buy the leather Rogue Industries Front Pocket Wallet from Amazon for $40

Every 'Game of Thrones' romantic relationship, ranked from worst to best

tormund and brienne game of thrones season seven episode 1

Warning: Spoilers if you have not seen the newest episodes of "Game of Thrones."

The words "Game of Thrones" normally bring death, destruction, and political intrigue to mind — but that's not all that "Game of Thrones" has to offer.

There's a lot of romance on "Game of Thrones" that tends to get overlooked in the midst of the battles, and wars between Houses.

The romantic relationships on "Game of Thrones" range from steamy and loving, to tempestuous and insidious.

Keeping all of that in mind, we decided to take a look at all of the romantic relationships featured on "Game of Thrones," and rank them from worst to best.

Here they are:

35. Craster and his daughters/wives

Craster is a wildling, and former ally of the Night's Watch known for marrying and sleeping with all of his daughters. Craster also would sacrifice any male children his daughters bore.

Incest, sacrifice, and nonconsensual relationships aren't uncommon occurrences on "Game of Thrones," but the combination of all three makes Craster and his unfortunate daughters/wives the worst relationship on "Game of Thrones."

34. Walder Frey and his child brides

It's hard to consider Walder Frey's relationships with his endless stream of disposable child brides relationships at all.

The nonconsensual nature of Walder Frey's relationships with his young brides makes these so-called relationships some of the all time worst on "Game of Thrones."

33. Sansa Stark and Ramsay Bolton

Petyr "Littlefinger" Baelish arranges for Sansa to marry Ramsay, after the Boltons have taken over Winterfell.

Unsurprisingly, the man who castrated Theon Greyjoy for fun turned out to be a less than stellar husband, physically and psychologically tormenting Sansa.

Sansa exacts revenge upon Ramsay and has him eaten alive by his own dogs, restoring House Stark as the rulers of the North.

The new 'Sonic the Hedgehog' is the first good Sonic game ever made

$

When "Sonic the Hedgehog" burst onto the Sega Genesis console in 1991, he was a very impressive little guy. He ran incredibly fast, as did the game he starred in — it was especially impressive compared to pretty much anything else out there.

There was only one problem: "Sonic the Hedgehog" isn't a very good game.

Super Mario and Sonic the Hedgehog

Your nostalgia-laced memory may be screaming out in anguish at that statement, but revisiting so-called "classic" Sonic games will confirm the assertion. It's fast, and pretty, but not much else — and things haven't gotten better over time.

With "Sonic Mania," that long losing streak is finally broken. Not only is "Sonic Mania" a good Sonic game, it's a good game period

SEE ALSO: A new Sonic game is on the way, and it looks exactly like Sonic did 20-plus years ago

"Sonic Mania" isn't just an homage to past Sonic games — it's an homage to your memories of those games.

To be clear, "Sonic Mania" is rife with homage to the long-running "Sonic the Hedgehog" series. Starting with the main title screen and running throughout the game, there are references galore in everything from Sonic's idle animation to the Eggman/Robotnik-themed levels to the many, many secret areas.

But the game itself isn't entirely built on homage — "Sonic Mania" is instead a love letter to your nostalgia. It feels like your rose-tinted memories of playing the original games over 20 years ago, though it's actually a far more modern game.

It runs at a stunning 60 frames-per-second — quickly and smoothly — which makes Sonic's high-speed movement look better than ever. There's a real sense of momentum to Sonic's speed, like you're controlling a snowball rolling downhill.

What made Sonic games so different from Mario games, aside from speed and visuals, was their sense of momentum. Sonic zooms through loops, flies into the air and catches a downhill just right so as to keep the momentum going — he's like a motorbike more than a Mario-esque character.

"Sonic Mania" captures that feeling perfectly.

As seen above in an early example, Sonic (followed by Tails, naturally) is rushing downhill to a quarterpipe platform — it's a setup as simple as this that leads to a variety of different gameplay options soon afterward. Perhaps you'll use Sonic's built up momentum to reach an unusually high platform, or perhaps this leap is a red herring and a secret is hiding just below in the next section of level. Perhaps both! In fact, it's very likely that both options are on the table — "Sonic Mania" is full of moments like this where you can choose one of several options.

This is a classic Sonic trope, of course — branching paths through each level — but "Sonic Mania" makes those paths clearer than ever. When you pair that replayability with the game's snappy controls, "Sonic Mania" embodies everything the series has attempted to achieve.

"Sonic Mania" looks and sounds and plays like one of the first three "Sonic the Hedgehog" games. In many ways, it's a mash-up of those three games for modern audiences.

"Sonic Mania" starts out as a direct homage. You're playing through Green Hill Zone — the first area in the first "Sonic the Hedgehog" game. The original music is re-created and everything. Things quickly begin to evolve, and one of the first things you'll notice is the incorporation of elements from later Sonic games.

As seen above, one of the game's three playable characters is Knuckles (who first appeared in "Sonic the Hedgehog 3") — you can also play as Tails, the two-tailed fox buddy of Sonic. Both of these guys didn't appear until sequels of the first game arrived.

Moreover, gameplay elements from subsequent Sonic games are scattered throughout "Sonic Mania." You'll encounter computer monitors with elemental power-ups — Sonic of course jumps on and breaks those monitors, thus releasing the magical powers therein. Using these powers in-game adds a sense of invincibility to Sonic's wanton high-speed running, making an already fast-moving game feel all the more speedy.

11 résumé mistakes that make hiring managers dismiss you immediately

files folder reading paperwork

· Acing your résumé is the first step to moving forward in the hiring process.

· Many recruiters will spend mere seconds on your résumé to decide initial fit.

· Easy mistakes like terrible formatting and incorrect grammar can instantly land you in the 'no' pile.

Recruiters are judgmental sharp shooters who only need about 25 seconds to decide if they like a job candidate or not.

At least that's how Ambra Benjamin, a recruiting manager at Facebook, describes the nature of her job in a LinkedIn post.

She explains that, while she will give outstanding candidates a more thorough read later, candidates who don't pass her initial test won't get a second look.

And Benjamin isn't alone in this tactic — "Recruiters move quickly," she writes.

As Art Markman, a professor of psychology and marketing at the University of Texas at Austin, writes for Fast Company, psychological research has found that, when hiring managers first look over your résumé, they're often in rejection mode— they're just looking for a reason to move on to the next candidate.

What they see on first glance could mean the difference between winding up in the 'maybe' or the 'no' pile.

Apart from the overall lack of relevant job experience, here are some things on your résumé that could earn you an automatic rejection:

DON'T MISS: 13 hobbies that look great on your résumé — and one that doesn't

Forgetting to include keywords

While we're not suggesting you cram your résumé full of jargony buzzwords, not including keywords pertinent to the job and industry you're applying for is not just a missed opportunity — it could indicate that you don't have the specific experience for the job your recruiter is looking for.

"There have been times when I command + F the crap out of résumés,"Benjamin writes.

"This isn't fool proof, but if I'm looking for an iOS Engineer, for example, and the words 'iOS' or 'Objective-C' don't even make a cameo appearance in someone's résumé, I have to furrow my brow, read a little deeper, and figure out what the heck is going on," she explains.

Too much text

When you use a 0.5-inch margin and eight-point font in an effort to get everything to fit on one page, this is an "epic fail," says J.T. O'Donnell, a career and workplace expert, founder of career-advice site Careerealism.com, and author of "Careerealism: The Smart Approach to a Satisfying Career."

She recommends lots of white space and no more than a 0.8 margin.

Amanda Augustine, a career-advice expert for TopResumeagrees, warning particularly against dense blocks of text.

"Let's be honest: You're looking this over quickly, you're glancing through it. Your eyes glaze over when you get to a big, long paragraph," she says.

Personal pronouns

Your résumé shouldn't include the words "I,""me,""she," or "my," says Tina Nicolai, executive career coach and founder of Resume Writers' Ink.

"Don't write your résumé in the third or first person. It's understood that everything on your résumé is about you and your experiences."

To keep your cat safe and secure, you need to invest in a high-quality cat carrier.

Cat carriers come in all shapes and sizes with different designs depending on the intended use. The best budget cat carrier

Why you'll love it: Lightweight but surprisingly durable, the Necoichi Ultra-Light Portable Cat Carrier is a great cat carrier for $15.

When shopping for a cat carrier, there are myriad factors to consider but, for many cat owners, price is the primary concern. If you’re looking for a budget-friendly cat carrier that still gets the job done, consider the Necoichi Ultra-Light Portable Cat Carrier.

Made from sturdy fabric with breathable mesh walls, the Necoichi Ultra-Light Portable Cat Carrier is one of the most lightweight cat carriers on the market. With its teepee-like design, this carrier gives your cat room to stretch out or sit up, all while remaining safe and secure behind a heavy-duty zippered mesh panel. The carrier accommodates cats up to 18 pounds, plus it folds flat for storage and is easy to clean.

The best cat carrier for air travel

Why you'll love it: The Pet Magasin Soft-Sided Cat Carrier is made from heavy-duty materials in a lightweight, waterproof design that will keep your cat safe and secure when traveling by plane.

When traveling with your cat by plane, you need a carrier that is airline approved. Our top pick for an airline approved carrier that will enable your cat to fly in comfort and safety is the Pet Magasin Soft-Sided Cat Carrier.

The Pet Magasin Soft-Sided Cat Carrier is made from high-quality, durable materials with a sturdy but lightweight design. The carrier itself weighs just two pounds and it folds flat for convenient storage. This carrier features mesh side panels for ventilation and a padded bottom for comfort. It also features a heavy-duty carry handle and an adjustable shoulder strap.

Petsho makes note of this carrier’s lightweight design as well as its waterproof construction. A review from My Pet Needs That speaks to the durability and quality construction of the carrier as well as the convenience of the adjustable shoulder strap. Anytime Magazine calls it a “good pet carrier that looks like a duffel bag.”

The Pet Magasin Soft-Sided Cat Carrier has nearly 1,500 reviews on Amazon and a solid 4.5-star rating. Consumers love the sturdy construction and their cats enjoy the padded interior. There is some mention of the size running a little small, but there are far more positive reviews than negative.

These are the 10 greatest good guys in WWE history (WWE)

$

the rock dwayne johnson

The hero vs. villain story is as old as storytelling itself, and the situation is no different in the wild world of WWE.

In wrestling parlance, heroes are "babyfaces" (or just "faces") and villains are "heels." But whatever you call them, a strong good guy is essential to telling a captivating story inside the squared circle. When the fans get behind a particular performer, the results can be absolutely electric as they cheer wildly for their chosen hero.

In the more than 50 years of WWE history, the company has produced hundreds of babyfaces. Some of them, whether because of circumstance or because of their own shortcomings, failed to connect with the crowd. But a select few have earned their spot among the greatest of all time and, in many cases, became household names.

Thanks to the WWE Network, fans can relive the greatest moments of these wrestlers' careers, from Stone Cold Steve Austin's first WWE Championship win at WrestleMania 14 to Hulk Hogan's clash with Andre the Giant at WrestleMania 3.

No matter your favorite, read on to see our list of the 10 greatest good guys in WWE history.

Note that for this list, we're going to include the lineage of all companies that the WWE now owns and claims, which includes WCW, its main rival from the 1990s.

10) Bob Backlund

Nowadays, fans know Bob Backlund as the bow tie and suspenders-wearing lunatic who wanted to Make Darren Young Great Again and loves locking people in the chicken wing submission hold.

But in his heyday, Backlund was actually one of the best babyfaces the business had ever seen.

He's the third-longest reigning WWE Champion in history behind only the legendary Bruno Sammartino and Hulk Hogan (spoiler alert: we'll see both of them later in this list) at a combined 2,138 days. The overwhelming majority of that was a 2,135-day reign from February 20, 1978 to December 26, 1983. He also had a short three-day stint as champ in November 1994.

Vince McMahon needed someone to be Sammartino's successor, and he found his man in the All-American Backlund.

Watch Bob Backlund win the WWE Championship from Bret Hart and more when you sign up for a free 30-day trial to the WWE Network.

9) Daniel Bryan

With the benefit of time, Daniel Bryan could easily move higher up this list. But there's no denying that the American Dragon captured the hearts and minds of WWE fans in a way that hadn't happened in more than a decade.

Bryan truly burst into the main event in 2013 when he challenged John Cena for the WWE Championship. Prior to that, the fans had slowly but surely put their support squarely behind him, and his popularity reached a fever pitch in the summer of 2013. So when he delivered a devastating knee strike to Cena at SummerSlam 2013 and pinned him for the title, fans rejoiced.

Of course, it all came crashing down when Triple H assaulted The Beard and handed the title to Randy Orton. This started a nearly eight-month climb back to the top of the mountain for Bryan, which culminated with a title victory at WrestleMania 30 in New Orleans.

What makes Bryan so special was the way he tapped into the spirit of the working-class fan. He was the underdog. According to rumor and innuendo, interviews with WWE backstage officials, and even Bryan himself, the plan was never for him to win the title at WrestleMania. He was supposed to be a quick diversion on the way to other plans. But tens of thousands of fans each week made their voices heard, and a new legend was born.

Relive Daniel Bryan's rise to the top when you sign up for a free 30-day trial to the WWE Network.

8) Sting

Steve Borden portrayed Sting in two strikingly different ways throughout his 30-year career. Wrestling fans like to call the first incarnation "Surfer Sting," when he had a blond flattop haircut and white and blue face paint.

But his more well-known iteration was what we'll call "Crow Sting," which came to life in early 1996 in WCW. He grew his hair out. He switched to black and white face paint to resemble Eric Draven from the movie The Crow, and he emblazoned his clothing with a scorpion. He became a silent vigilante who came down from the rafters and whose sole purpose was to take down the power-hungry New World Order.

As the nWo grew in number, seemingly absorbing the entirety of the WCW roster, Sting would attack silently with his trademark baseball bat. He would offer his back to anyone not in the nWo and give them a free swing. If they refused, he would simply nod and exit the ring, satisfied that they had passed his morality test.

Sting finally came to WWE in 2014 and wrestled just two matches before he retired in 2015. Any wrestler who wants to capture the aura of silent but powerful hero should start by watching Sting's work.

Go behind the scenes of Sting's arrival in WWE when you sign up for a free 30-day trial to the WWE Network.

The New York Times trashed the fast-casual concept from the makers of the best restaurant in the world — but here's why they're wrong

Made Nice 13

Chef Daniel Humm and business partner Will Guidara are best known for their work at the Michelin-starred restaurants The NoMad and Eleven Madison Park, which was named the best restaurant in the world.

But now the team is planning to bring their award-winning food to the masses with a brand-new fast-casual concept called Made Nice

"At Made Nice our goal is to serve guests delicious, composed dishes, that are affordable and quick – using the recipes, skills, and techniques we've perfected at Eleven Madison Park and The NoMad," Humm told Business Insider by email.

"This is the most casual restaurant we've opened, but we still want it to be delicious, to have gracious hospitality, and to embody all the values we employ at Eleven Madison Park and NoMad."

At Eleven Madison Park, a several-hours-long tasting menu costs $295 a person, but at Made Nice, guests can get a salad for between $11 and $15.

Infamous New York Times food critic Pete Wells recently reviewed Made Nice and was not impressed, giving the restaurant a stunning zero stars. Of the chicken and rice dish, Wells says, "The chicken seems exhausted. Imagine a chain of Cuban restaurants started by retired employees of the Olive Garden. This could be their arroz con pollo."

But comparing this fast-casual concept to a world-renowned contemporary restaurant is unjust — here's what we thought.

SEE ALSO: What it's like to eat a $295-per-person, 3-hour dinner at Eleven Madison Park, the best restaurant in the world

The dishes have the same visual artistry you would expect from a meal at the team's high-end restaurants.

The vibe, however, is altogether more welcoming and informal.

"We like to think of Eleven Madison Park as the type of restaurant you go to once a year, or to celebrate special occasions, NoMad as the restaurant you visit once a month for a fun night out, and we hope that Made Nice becomes a place where you can visit multiple times a week," Humm said.
